"Happiness is something I struggled with most of my life.I believed that I had to fit everyone's image. I had to be strong, but, I was weak. I was different.

I wore makeup, I did my nails, I grew out my hair. It was "a phase" I never outgrew, so I embraced it. I lived my dream of being beautiful. I grew out my hair to my shoulders, wore makeup, made a friend I'll never forget who showed me, it's okay to love yourself the way you feel you are. A mirror should not determine who you are on the inside.

what is happiness to them: Happiness is the feeling of closing your eyes and still seeing the shimmering sunlight filtering through like a blanket of warmth. It’s smelling the first flower of the day and knowing each one after that will smell just as sweet. It is waking up with nothing to do but a heart full of adventure nevertheless, dreaming of faraway places full of crystal clear seas. Happiness is that perfectly ripened fruit, or the taste of chocolate on your tongue. It’s the call of the birds as the migrate south to better weather. To Juniper, happiness is all of this and more wrapped up in a giftbox, decorated with a big red bow and a card from her special someone. It’s knowing that no matter what you can always find happiness just around the corner.

Happiness is several things. For Laoni, happiness comes from her friends and family, who always support her in her creative endeavors. Happiness is knowing that tomorrow, there's another day ahead, but if there's not, at least you've lived life to the fullest. Happiness is eudaimonia, a Greek concept of happiness. Eudaimonia is human flourishing, having what you need- but when you don't, it's ok. It's being in good spirits, even when life isn't so great. It's living life to the fullest, and being yourself. Happiness is knowing that, even though there are bad days- you can embrace those days, for one day it'll be better. Happiness is being fully accepting of yourself, no matter how different you are from everyone else. Happiness is not crying because it's over, but smiling because it happened. Happiness is stopping, just to smell a flower and stick it in your hair. Happiness is a first kiss, a summer breeze. Happiness is whatever you make it. Happiness is loving others and yourself, equally, no matter what they've done or who they are. If only Laoni could do all these things, she'd be truly happy. If only we'd all do these things, we'd be truly happy.

Laoni is a creative writer. She's always been a misfit, but she's happy with who she is, and won't change to be like everyone else. She's happier this way, not trying to fit in. She knows her true friends are those who don't judge her my her clothes or hair, but her personality. Laoni's writing isn't the normal, it's often rather deep and emotional, making readers uncomfortable. She has to sell hand knitted and sewn sweaters to make a living, and although she doesn't particularly like the job, she doesn't hate it. She wished others appreciated her writing more, as she finds it very truthful, and if others would just listen to her words, they'd learn how to be an even better person, and live a happy life like herself. Laoni doesn't care what others are doing, or what trends are being followed. She's unique to herself, and likes it that way. Laoni was also made fun of at her school when she was younger for being homosexual, but she ignored them. She wasn't stupid, or confused. She knows what she likes, and didn't care what others said. Laoni isn't afraid to be different, and that's what makes her happy.

What is happiness to them? ;
To Cy, (cyren) happiness is something that can be found doing what you love. She has not many friends, so it can be hard for her to go and speak to people thanks to her awkwardness. She enjoys photography, taking pictures of the world around her and painting them.
