Name: Swallowtail
Gender: Male
Story (700 word limit):
Shrieks of delight came from the field. Two Kalons played there, two complete opposites. One, a beautiful butterfly of a kit, strong and fast. The other sported a moth on her back, and was considered ugly. She, slow and weak, quickly grew tired after being chased by her brother. Still, she continued to play, happy to spend time with Swallowtail.
"Bet you can't catch me!"
"I'm sure I could, Cecropia!"
He was right. It wasn't long until she began to lag behind, and he patted her tail. "You're it!", he called, and ran.
After a while, he turned around, waiting for his sister to catch up.
There she was.. Nestled in a human's arms?
That was the day she left, bundled up with a new owner. He never saw her again.
And Swallowtail knew he'd never trust humans. Never.
Years passed, and the Kalon was still on his own. He didn't want to be, he wanted his sister, for goodness' sake, but Swallowtail knew he'd never see her again.
Lost in his thoughts, Swallowtail didn't even notice he almost stepped on a moth.
"Hey! Down here! Careful!"
"Oh.. I'm sorry."
He padded away, not a single ounce of care in his apology. Of course, the little moth didn't pick up on that.
"Hey! Excuse me, Mr. Kalon!", squeaked the little moth.
"What?", he snarled, not bothering to stop.
"Mr. Kalon, sir.. What's your name?"
"Swallowtail.", came his response.
"Nice to meet you! I'm Cecropia."
Suddenly, his gruff tone was gone. That name..
"Cecropia?"
"Yes?"
"How would you like to stay with me for a while?"
"Bet you can't catch me!"
