Qillaq Einar Rónán-Leifsson is still struggling with the loss of his wife and unborn twins, even now, about two years after the accident that claimed their lives. The story is set in Iceland and follows this tolter, although humanized, on an important day in his life. He's in dire need of a job, and as a last-ditch effort to break himself down so he can build himself back up, he applies for a job at the 'Reykjavik Aquarium and Zoo.' This was where his wife, Agnes, used to be employed, where she worked with the seals that came in to be rehabilitated or for whatever other reason they happened to be passing through. Qillaq is reluctant to open those old wounds, as they are still trying to heal, but he doesn't have much of a choice, since he somehow managed to get the job and has to be there that morning.

The story is technically not complete, but at 3,000 words already and a busy schedule ahead of me, I had little option but to stop. If you'd like to hear the plans for the rest of the story, I can happily share the brief and sloppy notes I took down. I'm disappointed that I couldn't get it all written, but life happens. <3
