Aura is a sweet, kind, caring and friendly viscet, she experts in chemistry, art, and biology, she one day dreams to have her own flower garden in her own backyard, she would tend to the flowers everyday, feeding and singing to them, she is a very confident but also really shy around others, but out-outgoing around her loved ones, but regardless she can get really hot headed at times and irritable to be around, she does get judged a bit because of her looks, people assume that she's somewhat mean, which is false, although being confident, she is still self conscious, she wont leave anywhere until she checks herself in the mirror a few times, she can be anxious also at times, she has a talent for singing although she doesn't reveal it to anyone much, she sings while she's alone, so she can express her feelings through song, she hides her feelings the majority of the time, most people cant see through her fake smile, but she thinks no one understands, which is very troublesome at times, she likes drawing simple pen drawings when motivation comes to her, sometimes these are vents, but they still turn out fantastic which at times can puzzle her but she shrugs it off, she does this in a little journal she lets no one see, most think its a diary, but its more of a drawing book, she always takes it everywhere with her, just in case motivation makes its way to her, she loves learning about chemistry since the way components react fantasizes her and peaks her interests, she at times does her own science experiments to test herself on what she has learnt, she does like quiet time to sit down and draw or read, she likes to read a range of different genres of books, there's not a specific type she favours, she will read from mystery to adventure, she doesn't have a genre of music she favors either.

Image
Aura, didn't exactly have a humble beginning, in fact she denies it as a beginning full stop, she mostly keeps it a secret, unless she is really close to that certain viscet, but she has made that mistake once, which in a way damaged her self esteem entirely, which she has little of.

Her life started out on a snowy mountain she first opened her eyes and saw the world in an icy cave, no one was around when she first emerged from her egg she was confused by this, her eyes darted across the room scanning her surroundings, everything seemed broken or tipped over and covered in a thin or thick sheet of ice.

A sudden cold breeze flowed through her mane making her shiver and curl up for warmth, she took a deep breath and exhaled steam, her eyes twitched as a small snowflake landed on her nose she shook her head to shake off the snowflakes which landed on her fur, she yawned a little and took refuge in a basket which had been tipped over, it contained a blanket, which was kind of quilted and had "Aura" embroidered all over, she tilted her head examining the embroidery, trying to make sense of what it meant, but she pushed her curiosity aside and took one step onto the quilt and felt immediately warmer, she walked further into the basket and laid down, pawing at the soft material made into the quilt, she felt as if she was on a cloud drifting through the sky, she laid her head down, closed her eyes and drifted off into a deep slumber.

The whistling in the wind awoke the young girl, she had to blink a few times to adjust her vision. She slowly arose and approached the entrance to the cave, the snow had settled and was quite deep, she lifted her paw up and set it down on the freshly fallen snow, it felt cold, but soft at the same time, she suddenly sneezed, not having control of her little limbs she lunged forward landing into the snow which was pretty deep, maybe a few feet or so, but she managed to poke her head up to see the surface, all she could see was snow for miles, she knew nothing would happen if she had stayed in that cave waiting for her parents to return, if they didn't freeze that is, she would either starve or freeze, so she set off, one big step in front of the other and she set off, where she was going, she did not know, all she did know, was to find food.

The air seemed to get colder and thicker every time she took a step, but she kept moving forward. The snow had started to fall again, but slowly, she was glad she could still see the horizon line, so she knew she was at least going north and not going to get hopelessly lost, the sky was a steel like grey, she couldn't really see much else, it looked like everything was buried in the snow, or so she thought, her nose was completely useless at this time, it looks as if it was frozen over, which was unusual, but didn't bother her really, she didn't know how to use it anyway. She saw a dark grey cloud emerge from afar, she thought that there must be civilization nearby, or at least a fire, any would do in her situation.

She had been walking for what seemed like days, maybe weeks, but the cloud she saw, she was coming nearer and nearer to, she could see some type of green near the cloud, which she has never seen before, all she knows is this snow, which is kind of numbing her paws, filled with curiosity she was focused on getting to the green, seeing what it is and how it feels, since she didn't know much else.

She glanced down at what was once step from her, it was the green, she tilted her head at it, scared to touch it. She eventually gained the courage to shift her nose towards the green, too frightened to step on it, it felt somewhat soft against her muzzle, with no other sudden thoughts she lifted her paw slowly and steadily set it down on the green, flexing her toes to get the feel of the mysterious green she had been venturing towards, she took a few more steps forwards, getting more feel of the green beneath her. She lifted her head, looking for the cloud, she couldn't find it it all, she got disappointed and confused immediately, unaware where it had gone, she started walking forwards, she saw something red sticking out of the green, she approached it cautiously and sat down beside it, she moved her paw towards it, gripped the green thing connected to it, lifted her paw up with force, disconnecting the red from the green, she held the red object in her hand, noticing a bit of the green was still attached to it, she set it in front of her ear and wrapped the green attached to it around her ear, securing it in place, she smiled, got back up and kept walking.

She glanced around, taking in her surroundings every step she took, the mysterious place she had found was quite amazing to say the least, beautiful as well. She looked down at her paws, to see the green, but she heard a sudden rustle in the bush beside her, causing her to get really scared, she backed up slowly and cautiously, out of the bush emerged a multi-colored viscet with blue eyes, the viscet tilted his head to her, she got up slowly, feeling more safe, because of the kind look in his eyes, she took a step toward him, he too, took a step toward her, both were confused by each others presence. He noticed that she was quite small and probably starving, so he leant forward slightly and picked her up by her neck tuft, she was confused by this action, he took her through a place of grouped greenery, to then they approached the dark grey cloud she had been looking for, she was happy at the sigh of this, he then set her down gently in some sort of shelter made by leaves and twigs.

It was a sunny morning, the birds were chirping, with a slight breeze, she had awoken from her slumber, Phoenix waiting for her to awake at the breakfast table, the table was made with an engraved wood, also, in the other corner stood her wall long table, with some science equipment such as beakers test tubes and some acids, she had spent most of her time there growing up making mini explosions it brought back many memories as well as some art she had done hanging over the set out table there was one particular that stood out from the crowd, she couldn't tell what it was because she was young and imaginative. she stretched gracefully and approached the entrance of her sleeping den, on the left and the right of the entrance of her sleeping den there was two garden plots filled with flowers mostly dendrobium orchids and daisys, she kept them well groomed and checked up on them every morning, she had always wanted a big flower garden of her own ever since she was a child she even did an art of what she wanted it to look like which was above the chemistry table,
"Good morning",
he said as he walked over to her, giving her a hug,
"Morning Phoenix",
"How'd you sleep?",
"I don't know really, I keep having flashbacks from a few years ago",
"Oh?, what about?",
"When I first opened my eyes",
Phoenix sat down, engaged in her story,
"All I remember is snow, more snow and even more snow for miles, the place I was in, looked like it had been raided, no one was around though, which I don't get, why abandon a helpless baby?",
"Im sure they had a good reason",
"I doubt it, anyway, my eyes fell on a tipped over basket, it was kind of like a cane basket but with holes, it had a plush quilt blanket contained in it, I slept it for a day then left to find here",
"That quilt sounds heavenly",
"It was, Phoenix, but it had one detail that I did not get"
"What was that?",
Phoenix tilted his head at the question,
"It said, Aura, i'm unsure of what that means",
"Sounds like news to me, I've never heard anything of the sort",
"But I keep getting the feeling it means something more",
"Oh?",
"I know it means something else, I want to find it, but I don't know where I would go",
"I may have an idea",
"What is it Phoenix?",
"There's a chronicler which lives on the largest volcano ever known to us viscets, you'll have to travel halfway across the world, through the treacherous oceans and the ludicrous lava pit, the journey will be dangerous, the chronicler knows all",
"Might this chronicler know what the quilt means? and maybe where my parents are?",
"Most likely",
"Then I leave at dawn",
Phoenix paused and stared at her, proud at what she has become,
"Alright, you better eat up, you'll need lots of energy",
she nodded and ate her food.

The morning was strangely quiet as she awoke, she assumed the birds were still asleep, but she was unsure, she felt quite lonely without the birds, she missed their presence, singing their sweet songs, she shook her head and made her way to the breakfast table, the camp was silent, no sign of Phoenix, would he really leave without saying goodbye to her?, she was going on the biggest journey of her life after all, she sighed, she walked towards one of the empty dens where she had packed some food and some water in a canteen and placed them into a bag, she lifted the bag up, putting her left paw through the arm strap and then her right, she left the empty den and approached the entrance of the camp, she looked around at the jewel like buildings, a stump right beside the entrance caught her eye, it had a box like thing on top of it, she walked towards the box and picked it up with her paw, it had a bow on top and a note attached to it, it read:
"Good luck on your travels, i'm sorry I couldn't be there, it hurts, but I had urgent business to attend to, this was meant for the anniversary that I found you, but, hope you like it!".
She smiled, she knew he wouldn't forget, she opened the pretty box, it contained a bracelet, it was dark grey with a orange glowing diamond in the middle, it was beautiful, she put it on and flaunted her paw a bit, it was perfect fit and suited her colors,
She loved it. She decided it was time to go, she turned around and took one last glance at the place she had called home for years, she walked up to a nearby puddle to check how she looked and sighed. It stung her heart to leave but, all good things have to come to an end, she turned back around to face the horizon, she took a deep breath and took a step forward, looked at the horizon line and started walking.

The journey through the green was quite beautiful, looking at the gems engraved into each building, sparkling in the sunlight,
"Keep following the horizon",
she kept telling herself, the last thing she wanted was to get lost while looking for all the answers she wanted, the greenery seemed to go on for ages, she had been walking for what seemed like months, her paws were getting more tired and shaky as she walked, she didn't let that stop her though, she felt like it was her purpose to find the answers she seeked, which gave her the evermore reason to keep going, to push her self if she ever lost motivation, the day slowly turned to night,
"The stars are much more brighter here then at the camp",
she thought to herself, she stared up at them for a moment with wonder and awe, wondering if her parents maybe up there, turned into a star, looking down at her, she decided to sleep under a nearby tree, she yawned loudly, at layed down, she thought about the journey ahead a little as she drifted off to sleep.

The air was quite cold the next morning, colder then usual for the greenery, she stretched and yawned, then grabbed her backpack and began walking for a second day, this day seemed shorter though, the horizon line seemed like it was getting closer, so she kept walking at a faster pace, her breath turned into smoke the closer she approached the horizon line, she finally saw a promising bit of blue in the distance, she began to ran toward it, she knew what this place was immediately, the blue got closer and closer every time she took a stride forward, she stopped suddenly, her mouth opened with amazement, as she saw the most beautiful place she has ever seen, the treacherous oceans, in reality it wasn't anything like its name, it was jaw dropping beautiful, the ocean was a translucent blue, you could see all the seahorses beneath the ocean, she jumped in, leaving a big splash behind her, she was mesmerized by all the ocean like animals, she swam around some more to make it to the 2nd part of her journey.

The water was warm, warmer then she thought before jumping in, the water felt somewhat magical to her, like maybe a fountain of eternal youth?, she didn't really know, but it didn't seem likely, although the world seemed magical, magic doesn't exist right?, or so she thought anyway, the water seemed to get more dense as she swam, she began choking on the water, the water suddenly got really thick, which was unusual for water, she stood still, as the water began thicker and thicker around her, she tried to get her muzzle up to the surface to breath, but it was no use, the water seemed to turn to ice, freezing her in place, she struggled for air, but it was a lost cause, she decided to accept what was happening to her, although she didn't know what was going on, the ice seemed to evaporate and turn into bubbles, this wasn't normal water behavior, but she was intrigued with its unusual movement, so she didn't struggle she just watched, a bright light started forming around her, it was blinding so she shielded her eyes, she felt as if she was lifted into the air, which she was, but she was to afraid to open her eyes, she felt something changing, especially in her neck, elbow, knee and tail area, the feeling was really strange and weird, she sunk back into the ocean and open her eyes, she looked about the ocean, confused at what just happened, then she looked down at her tail, the way it looked frightened her, it used to be just a regular tail, but now it was eel like, she screamed and noticed she could actually speak underwater, she felt the side of her face, which felt like some sort of gills, she screamed again, she was really scared at what just happened, she used to look like a normal viscet, and now shes part EEL?!.

She breathed heavily, slightly hyperventilating, she had never seen anything like this before, it frightened her, it was new, she didn't like it, it was scary how a lot of things just suddenly changed when she touched the water, all of this confused her, she wondered if the same thing would happen when she went to The ludicrous lava pit, but it sounds like no magic would exist there,
right, RIGHT?!, she was completely confused, and felt like she was going crazy,
"This isnt normal",
she told herself over and over again,
"Its just in your imagination, just breathe, just breathe, youll be ok",
she kept talking to herself, she felt sick to her stomach, but she knew she had to keep going on, she needed to get her answers and now, she needed more than ever, she began to swim, with the eel like additions to her body, she could swim even faster, which helped, she left the stinging feeling in her stomach behind her, she just kept on swimming.

The journey from the ocean to the lava really dragged on, it seemed way longer than the journey to the ocean, which was strange since the ocean looked small from the outside, but there was much more to this ocean then what she initially though, it was small on the outside, but bigger on the inside, there was buildings, all different sizes, but all of them had a number, maybe it was to depict homes?, she pushed her curiosity aside and kept going north, with her gills, even though she couldn't find the horizon line, she found it easier to tell which way is north, thought they were scary at first, they proved very helpful throughout her journey. She liked looking down at the creatures below her, the all were so unique from their pattern, to their species, she never thought the ocean was such a beautiful place, maybe it was just made out to be something it isnt, like a stereotype, no one has experienced the ocean like she had before, she assumed she was a once in a lifetime thing, not to sound up herself but, it would be true right?, I mean she turned part eel out of nowhere, so itd be true, or most likely at least?, she got too distracted by her thoughts and her head collided with some sort of red rock, she pulled herself upright and rubbed her temple, she put her paw up against the rock, it seemed kind of hot?, or so she assumed, she headed up to the surface, and she saw lava.

She hauled her paws over the side of the rock and pulled herself up, standing upright, she took a look around, she was faced with a massive lava pit, there seemed to be sand like steps heading towards the biggest volcano, from memory, the viscets called it Lumpy, not a flattering name, but, its all they came up with, there was no way around the lava pit, or even some sort of rock floating on the lava for that matter, she began to loose hope, there was no way she would be getting to the chronicler from here, she sighed, she decided to take a leap of faith,
"No viscet goes in and comes out of this place",
she told herself, she hovered her right paw over the lava, and cautiously set it down, her paw didnt burn, her paw just stayed there, she smiled, her risk had payed of, she moved all three of her other paws after her, she was walking on the lava, it felt strange to her, but she was too overjoyed that she was going to get the answers she seeked, she ran on the lava, feeling as free as a bird, she laughed as she ran, at last her running came to an end, more rock was infront of her, aswell as the entrance to Lumpy,
the chroniclers lair, she took a step forward, but she couldn't move any further, all the feelings she got when getting her gills happened again, she let everything happen, lava rose from underneath the ground, leaving her in the sky hovering, she closed her eyes tightly, her body spun, she could see the red glow from her closed eyelids, again, she got placed down gently, this time nothing had changed, or so she thought, he looked down at the lava, in her reflection she saw on her chest, swirls had formed, they were dark like ash, she stayed looking at the swirls for awhile. She looked up at the entrance, stood up, and walked toward the steps, the sand felt soft underneath her paws, the entrance to lumpy was like an ordinary cave, so it didn't phase her as she walked in.

The lair smelt of smoke, the air was dense, the closer she walked in, it was pitch black, she couldn't see a thing, the walls echoed with the sound of her steps,
"Hello, I have been expecting you",
She jumped backward and snarled,
"Who are you?!",
she shouted,
"Well I am the chronicler, but the real question is: "who are you?"",
"Who am I?",
"Don't be silly child, I know exactly who you are, you are Aura",
"So the quilt did mean something",
She thought to herself,
"What else do you know about me?",
"I know that you now have gills and swirls on your chest",
lights began to shine, illuminating the once dark room,
"Wh-wh-what about my family?, my mum, my dad?",
"Oh, your parents?, well, they passed shortly before your arrival",
"So thats why that place was raided, can you tell me more",
"Sure, come",
A yellow, pastel viscet, with bunny ears and tail approached her,
"Follow me young Aura",
Aura didn't hesitate, she followed the chronicler down a dark hallway, the walls had stories written in stone, which she couldn't understand, they slowly came to a halt infront of a particularly large wall, larger than the most,
"Ahhh, here it is",
"Is this it?",
Aura said nervously,
"Yes child, now let us begin".

The chronicler cleared their throat and began to speak,
"It was winter, about two years ago, two viscets were expecting an arrival of a baby girl, they even had a bed prepared for her,
and a surprise to give her when she was born, but they didn't expect what was to happen next, they heard wolf howls, they slowly got closer and closer, they grew scared each time they heard it, they decided to hide the young infants egg, the last thing they wanted to happen was for her to get harmed, the mothers ears perked up,
"theyre here!",
she screamed as a dark viscet with green eyes approached them, wolves followed behind the silhouette like viscet, the mother was shaking, the father stood in front of her snarling,
"Go away you beast, theres no reason for you to be here!",
"Oh I believe so",
they said with an evil grin,
"You have what I want, now give it!",
"NO!, you will not harm my daughter",
"Dont worry about her, her power needs to be trained for evil, it is her purpose",
"no it isnt!",
the mother yelled, with tears pouring down her face, the father looked at her, he pounced at the dark viscet, starting a fight none of them would win, the wolves just sat there watching as the three took their final breaths, a few hours later the legendary baby was born".

Aura knelt down and started to cry,
"This cant be true!",
she cried,
"I-I-it cant be!, please, tell me this is wrong!",
"Im afraid i can't do that, Aura, you cant lie about the past",
"They risked their lives for me!, they didnt have to do that!",
"It was their choice, Aura, you are the legendary viscet we have waited millenia for",
"No! no im not!",
The chronicler watched Aura bawl, they didn't know what to say, was there anything to say?, they sat down beside Aura with a hand on their shoulder,
"Thanks for telling me chronicler, I may not have wanted to hear it, but im happy I did",
"Your welcome, everyone deserves to know their past and please, call me Kanin",
"Will do",
Aura said wiping her eyes,
"If you don't mind Kanin i need to go home, my family is waiting",
she said between sobs,
"Be my guest",
Kanin said bowing to her, Aura exited the cave and made the long journey back home, to Phoenix.

sephira - betrayed yet not.

Postby elliott. » Wed Jul 26, 2017 11:26 pm

It was cold, but Sephira was determined. She was going to talk with the witch and ask her why she was causing all of these disasters upon her people. Knowing that the only way she could get to the witch was by boat, since she lived in the middle of the sea, she rented one from a resident in the town, before buying some goods at the market. These goods included;

> a trench coat
> a few sculptured logs to make torches with just in case.
> a lantern
> lantern fluid
> food
> water
> blankets and pillows
> a stuffed animal - a rabbit (she couldnt resist its cute button eyes)

Determination in her gaze, the female set off towards the witches home, her speech planned out in her mind.

Please Note wrote:authors note; sephira does not yet have gills or any aquatic traits. she is a normal Viscet.
ps. the witch had been causing tsunamis, hurricanes and violent rainstorms on sephira's people. she's called the "wicked witch of the waters"

Sephira reached the witches little hut in the middle of the sea soon enough, her trenchcoat pulled tightly around her. It was cold, and rainy, but the viscet didn't shiver once. Cautiously, she stepped on to the island, eyeing up the little hut. It was just a bit higher than sephira's head,
and was a nice little box. It was a dark brown with little waves with seafoam drawn on in watercolour and paint.
She admired them for a split second before knocking on the door.

At first, it seemed as if no one was home, but Sephira knew better. Where else would a witch go on a small island like this? Sighing, she waited until she heard a gruff voice. "Who is it?" The Viscet's ears flicked in surprise and she grumbled, before sighing. "My name is Sephira.
I come from a island just a bit north. You have been setting horrible disasters on my home and I want to discuss peace."

The door creaked open, revealing a robed figure. she couldn't see any looks of the witch, which was odd, but didn't have much time to think of it as she was sat down. "Peace? Peace! How do i give peace to a treacherous place that holds a horrible person who did a terrible thing?" The witch laughed in Sephira's face, before becoming emotionless again. "One of your "loving" people has thrown my favorite pearl into the ocean. What excuse do you have for that, adventurer?" She asked.

Sephira gaped at the witch, shaking her head. "Miss witch, I do assure you that there are many other pearls in the sea -" The witch stood up, slamming her hands on the table. "Nonsense! This pearl was my pearl and it was taken from me!" She yelled. She started mumbling to herself, pacing the room. The witch turned, pointing at Sephira. "But... but you can get it for me! i have the correct potion, that can give you gills and fins and webbed feet!" she exclaimed. "Its the least you can do. once I get my pearl, I shall give you the ability to breathe air again and stay away from your land. Is it a deal, pretty girl?"

Sephira stood shocked, but sighed. "Anything for my people." The witch cackled, giving a big grin. She reached in a draw, grabbing a cloudy ball. She handed it to sephira. the Viscet squeezed it lightly, and it was surprisingly squishy. The witch by then had opened the door and beckoned to Sephira. "C'mon, we don't have all day!" She yelped.

The two went outside to the ocean and the witch grinned wickedly. "Now, put your head underwater. Open your eyes, perk up your ears, open your mouth and pop that orb in. Chew and eat the orb, with the ocean water in your mouth, and then you should be able to breathe. Do not come back up for air, or you will suffocate. My pearl is near the great coral reef, near the island of brecine. If you can achieve my pearl, come to my island and throw a rock at my window. I will then take my pearl, give you a orb to return to normal and leave you alone. Deal? Good. now hurry."

Sephira took the information in, nodding. She took off her trenchcoat, throwing it in her boat, before slowly wading into the water. As her head went underwater, she opened her eyes, gasping at the burning she felt. Ignoring it,
she popped the little orb in her mouth. She bit down on it, a sensational tingle running through her mouth before she swallowed. Sephira felt her body tingle, opening her eyes and finding that it didn't sting anymore, and she could actually see sharper than when she did above land. Glancing at her paws, she saw they were stuck together, webbed like an otter's. Pulling her tail to her side, she saw it had a eel-like look. Fins were located on her shoulder, neck and head, and she felt the gills on her neck. Freaking out, she desperately paddled up to the shore, her lungs burning from her holding her breath. Sephira arose above the surface trying to take a gasp of air, but found it was just the same as holding her breath. With a strangled gasp/sob, the viscet fell underwater, thinking the witch was trying to drown her. She was surprised to find she could inhale underwater, breathing frantically.

Mystified by her new look and abilities, the female tried to swim. She was surprised to find that the ability came to her easily, and she was moving swiftly through the water in just a few moments. She set off towards the island of brecine, more determined then when she started her journey.

Sephira traveled far and wide, her instincts the only way she was able to find the large coral reef that settled right up next to the island of brecine. The viscet's eyes widened as her gaze caught upon the large, colorful living thing and she let out a joyful squeak.

The witch's pearl was orange, she had said. sephira frowned. Most of the coral here was orange or purple. letting out a big sigh, Sephira swam over to the large reef and started poking through it.

It took absolute hours. But she found it, tucked between two very stringy pieces of coral. Joyful, Sephira raised the pearl high above her head in victory, cheering lightly. She turned, swimming quickly back to the witch.

But when she arrived, the island was vacant. The witches house was gone. All of it. Sephira started to panic as she ducked back underwater to breathe a bit, before coming up and breaking the surface. Her eyes caught upon a grey circular object, an orb and a note.

"Dear Girl,

Please forgive me for leaving so soon. But I have somewhere else I need to be. I left an orb that will let you breathe underwater and above water next to this note, along with a bracelet that you can clip my pearl into, generally just for show. I figured it would match your pelt so you would enjoy it. When you eat the orb, you will be a bit thirsty, so I left a water bottle, too. Your boat and all the supplies you left are just as you left them, and I packed it with more fresh food and water as a parting gift.

Thank you for willingly going to retrieve my pearl, even though you cannot give it to me, it means a lot. Treat it well.

Sincerely,
Anita the Witch."

Sephira read the note quickly, ducking back underwater to breathe when she finished. Taking a bit to calm down, she raised her head above water to grab the orb and set the pearl down on shore, doing with it like she had done to the first one, although above land this time. She was surprised to find she had kept her gills, fins, tail and webbed paws, but she wasn't complaining. She stepped on land, grabbing the water bottle and chugging the contents quickly to settle her itchy throat.

She grabbed the empty bracelet, inspecting it. it was made of a darker iron, and it had a little sphere shape attached to it to hold the pearl. She ran her fingers along the sides, feeling the carving in the bracelet. Sephira grabbed the fiery red pearl, pushing it at the little sphere shape. It popped in quickly, snapping into place. She turned it upside down, smiling as it stayed in.

Sephira strolled over to her boat, getting in and making sure everything was accounted for before setting sail towards her island. Excitement bubbled in her - she had managed to save her village! She could now claim the reward and be called a hero for who knows how long.

But, when she arrived, the reaction of the town was way different then what she expected. Everyone gave her weird stares, kids yelping and ooo-ing at the sight of the gilled and finned Viscet. many different viscets gave her weird and scared looks, causing Sephira to squirm in spot as she stood at the docks, almost everyone in the town (it was a small town) stood around her.

She swallowed, before she heard a small yell, "She's been cursed by the witch!" She flinched, before she heard someone clear their throat and raised her fiery eyes to see the governor stepping out of the crowd of people.

"Sephira... What happened? Were you cursed? Infected?"

She shook her head, before bursting out in the story. The town listened, and then she finished. Everyone held looks of disdain, looking at her like she was a freak. The governor congratulated her on saving the town, and soon everyone broke up. Disappointed at everyone's reactions,
she went home.

Months passed. The villagers started to treat her worse and worse, calling her "fish scum" or other names sea-related. She dealt with it, day by day, until one day she decided to leave. She packed a waterproof bag filled with all of her belongings, and she swam away.

She traveled around, swimming the seas and staying at different villages everywhere, selling what she can for food and shelter overnight. Sephira bde quite good at manners and talking to people, so she tried to find jobs and places to stay at, before settling in a large vast field ( 3.4 acres exact ) in Scotland. She worked on the field for a deaf elderly couple for a long time, selling the crops and the animals when needed.

She learned sign language to communicate with the two,
helping them with selling with people who only spoke and just generally being a farm hand. She resided in their guest house on their land, which she redesigned on her own.

And then the couple got really sick. First it was the male,
and then the wife caught it. They soon passed away, surprising her with all of their money and their land, witb everything in it.

She sold what she didn't need, and now she owns the land, successfully raising cattle and horses, growing crops and selling what she needed to get by. Sephira doesn't really bring up her past anymore, now happily living on her own with her animals on her huge piece of land.

Sephira likes to keep to herself, liking the silence that helps her get her head together. She never really gets lonely, often finding company in the many cats and dogs that roam her barn and fields, along with her horses and cows and chickens. She finds joy in getting down and dirty and working, never feeling truly happy unless she's building things or having dirt on her hands. Sephira really knows how to talk to people, and is a great bargainer with people. She's caring and sweet , not only to her animals but to people, too. She keeps faith in animals even when others don't, which usually ends in lots of long nights with no sleep. Sephira knows what's best for her and her life, having almost everything in her life planned out. She is the motherly type, acting as a parent would to literally everything she sees. She can be mischievous if she wants, which mostly adds on to her childish and immature side. She's determined and will do anything if she sets her mind to it.

Of course she has her times when she gets a bit stressed out, but she gets over it after a nice calm walk on her area. Sephira is very calm and humble, loving that she helped herself get this far in life all on her own, even when she had been discriminized for her gills and fins.

ImageInterview Part 1 (Personality):Image

"If you were to describe yourself, what would you say?"

An unnamed viscet stood with a pen and pencil, ready to write any useful information that this extremely rare viscet had to offer. The news group had managed to find Coraline, a legendary aquatic viscet, and wanted an inside look into her daily life and personality to help shed some light on major mutations and their non-visual effects. Although Cora, as she preferred to be called, wouldn't agree to a sit-down interview, she did agree to be followed in her daily routines and answer questions as long as nobody got in her way. So here we were, on a beach, with an extraordinary example of mutations. We followed her as she picked up litter from the sands.

"I... I don't know. It's hard to describe oneself when you don't consider that a priority." Cora bent down and added a crumpled water bottle to her garbage bag. "I actually dislike contemplating who I am and what I like, for I live for others. How can I, when my coral reefs are dying and the oil spills endanger my friends? I suppose you could say that I am altruistic in nature; since I show an unselfish concern for the welfare of others." Her eyes shone with sadness as she glanced away from the interviewee, turning her gaze to the waters. "I was born of the sea, and I wish to raise a child in the sea. But with global warming and pollution, I fear I will soon be forced to leave."

"So I suppose you could say you are a worrier?"

Looking back to the questioning viscet, Cora shrugged her shoulders. "Yes. I worry... all day, all night. That's the kind of viscet I am." Her orange and black eyes spotted something in the sand a few feet away and started padding towards it. "It doesn't help that my ability to empathize is greater than most... I suppose it's from my relationship with the water. The ability to come and go, flow into the available spaces and understand from someone else's point of view." Cora stretched her webbed paws and grabbed hold of a starfish, before walking it back to the waters. "Like this little starfish... most see an object of interest. I see a life. Just as important as my own. I see it my job to tend to these lost souls."

The interviewer nodded, jotting something in their notebook. "Lets go back a little here... you said you were worried about pollution forcing you out of your home. What scares you the most about this scenario?"

Cora sighs. "I'm a creature of the water, despite my base species saying otherwise. I couldn't be happy in a lake or a pond, afraid of surfacing because of these easily amused humans waiting to take my picture. I'd be trapped... like Nessy. She's a wonderful soul, by the way. And all my friends... the animals of the sea. They'd be doomed. I try not to think about it too much, although I do, because I fear the earth is already past the point of no return, and I can only hope I'm not alive to see it crumble."

With a cough, the interviewer flipped the page in their notebook. "Very interesting. Lets move to something less controversial... for our heartthrobs out there, what's your star sign?"

Cora smiled. "Star sign? Pisces." She picked up another piece of litter.

"Pisces is known for being humble, and always seeking the path to happiness and the meaning of life. How accurate is your star sign to your actual personality?"

Her tail swished and left a trail over the sand. "I'd say it's pretty close." Cora thought about it for a moment and smiled. "Actually, that's as close as you could get."

"And what do you identify as?"

"I never really identified as either or. I raised myself and never conformed to social norms for biological male or female viscets, so I suppose that makes me agender. But I honestly don't mind being called a 'she', for that is what I was born as, and I prefer not to draw attention or cause confusion. Although some have mistaken me for a male at a distance due to my dark colored pelt, but I don't particularly mind that, either." Cora's eyes squinted down the beach, and she left her garbage bag where it was and quickly dashed to the object of interest. The interviewer almost fell in the sand trying to catch up. As they approached, they saw Cora picking up a jellyfish.

"Aren't you going to get stung?!"

Cora didn't break her attention away from the jellyfish on the beach. "I'm immune to them, now. They're my favorite animal, in case you were wondering. Did you know they are biologically immortal?" Nodding, they watched as Cora gently waded into the water. They stayed on shore and watched as she swam it out into the depths before letting it go. When Cora got back she hardly even looked wet- her feathers repelling the water. "I was just in time- it's going to be okay." She was followed back to her garbage bag and continued to pick up garbage. "Jellyfish have a regenerative quality. They can grow a new brain, new heart, new cells, and never actually die unless killed. Or beached. That's why they're my favorite. They're will to live is stronger than life."

"You said you are immune, now. Does that mean you've been stung many times in order to not be effected by that?"

Cora nodded. "There are very few jellyfish I cannot handle. It helps that my feathers are thicker and repel water, they also seem to repel poison and I don't usually feel when I touch their stingers. I have been stung before, many times, but I've never had a bad reaction to any of them."

"While we're on the subject of favorites, what's your favorite color?"

Cora closed her eyes. "You know the color the jellyfish emit when it's dark? That luminescent blue? That's my favorite color." The interviewer watched as Cora opened her eyes, looked to the sea and smiled. "Blue is already a rare color in nature. To see it glow... it just feels like it was never meant for our eyes. A secret of the sea, you might say."

"That's very interesting! You seem to have many valuable qualities about you; caring, gentle, understanding, calm, thoughtful, 'altruistic' as you've said. Would you say you have any bad qualities?

"Who doesn't have at least a couple?" Cora sat down, drawing in the sand, tired of walking and talking when she would normally enjoy the silence. "I'm actually quite anti-social when it comes to other viscets. I prefer my own company, and the company of animals." The interviewer stood awkwardly, feeling as if they'd ruined the legendary viscet's whole day by taking their time and space. "But company once in a while isn't always a bad thing." With a relieved sigh, the interviewer wrote some things down in their notebook again, and with enough of a silence prompted Cora to continue talking. "I suppose I am also a little compulsive. I have been caught in a bad situation or two due to throwing caution to the wind. And obsessive... I tend to be obsessive, especially with my home."

ImageInterview, Part 2 (Non-Personality Details)Image

"Where do you live?"

"I won't give exact coordinates..." Cora started, picking up a seashell and holing it to her ear. "But I've made a large sunken metal ship my home. It's about 8,000 feet below the surface, and has everything I need. I have most of my treasures hidden away there, except the ones that would perish with time; I have those hidden away on land. It's really amazing... all kinds of fish swim the hallways with me, and I even have a shark that patrols the waters for me when I'm gone and keeps it safe."

"Aren't you worried humans might find it?"

Cora shook her head. "No. They'll never find this one. I'm sure of it." She seemed through with the subject, so the interviewer carried on.

"May I ask about your items? The flowers and the cuff?"

"What about them?" Cora asks as she chucks the shell into the water.

"Do they hold any particular meaning to you?"

Cora shrugged, dipping her feet back into the water. "Not really. I love the smell of the flowers, so I keep some on me when I'm not in the water. The cuff is special, though. I found the glowing red stone on the sea floor, at the bottom of Marianas Trench. I think the jeweler I took it too said it was part of a meteorite, since he couldn't identify it. It helps me see at the depths when I'm treasure hunting."

"Do you particularly shipwreck dive or do you literally 'treasure hunt'?"

“Well…” Cora thought to herself. “Both, I suppose. Sometimes the two clash and become one activity.” Cora stood, making her way back to her garbage bag and resumed picking up trash. “I’ve found many things- diamonds, meteorites, sunken ships with more gold than I knew what to do with.”

The reporter shook, wishing for even one of those discoveries were their own. “I suppose you are quite the wealthy viscet, then?”

Cora shrugged. “In my eyes, they’re just discoveries. I only sell what I need to in order to continue living my life without issue. I believe in sentimental value; not monetary.”

With a growl, the viscet changed the subject. “What is your favorite place on earth?”

Without a thought, Cora beemed. “The reefs of Australia. They are, so gorgeous. The vast number of species, the colorful corals and the crystal blue color of the water. It is truly the most beautiful place I’ve ever been.” The two of them ended up at a little shack just off the beach. Cora placed her full bag into a metal can, and walked straight from the shack to the edge of the waters lapping at the beach. Turning to the reporter, she sighed. “I’ve given you all the time I can. My day continues under the waves, and I cannot take you with me.”

The viscet closed their notebook, bowing to the legendary creature. “Thank you so much for sparing me some of your time. I’m sure the readers of ‘Viscet Weekly’ will be thrilled to learn more about you. May I take your picture?”

Cora nodded, and stood patiently as the reporter drew out a camera from their bag and snapped a couple pictures. “You know, most of us thought you were a legend until today.”

Cora smiled, her black sclera’s sparkling in the sunlight as she waded into the water.

“That’s why we’re called Legendaries, darling.”

    Name: Locus

    Gender: male

    Gender for breeding: male

Personality: Locus is not very talkative, in fact he is pretty rude when he does speak. He doesn't want to be too close to anyone because he is afraid his heart will be broken or someone will abandon him. His parents abandoned him when he was young. He can get emotional at times but is extremely intelligent, learning it all from watching and listening. He always thinks things through and isn't really courageous, he is quick to hesitate at anything that could lead to something bad. Surprisingly he is sarcastic but only in his thoughts. He's been caught once or twice rolling his eyes but thats about it. Deep down he is caring but isn't sure how to help, despite his intelligence. His goal is really to not talk to anyone which can leave to selfishness. He can hold grudges especially after his parents left him. Locus surprisingly can trick people but only when he is mad. When he is mad all he can be a thief and a trickster, trying to funnel his anger into something else. While he tries to stay calm, it doesn't exactly work. He is a puzzle, with his bouncing emotions. All in all, he is selfish but selfless.
