Who are they?

Hyde is a thief of crystals, simply.

Because of the surplus of beautiful and unusual crystals in the nearby caves, he thinks of this "crime" as a harmless hobby. Of course, it isn't really a crime as they are a part of nature and he doesn't take much. It still makes him feel a bit bad about it though and tries his best to take them in secret; away from the eyes of others where no one would tell him that he couldn't. This is what brought on his rather suspicious movements and glances.

He doesn't usually use these crystals and stones he collects, however. Hyde doesn't even keep them. The truth is that there is another kalon that he has grown fond of and their profession as a jewelry maker could certainly make use of the strange treasures. He has only talked to them a few times but that was enough to find out that they were new to the place and that they had been getting less customers recently. In an attempt to help them out Hyde has been retrieving the crystals himself (as the caves are quite far from the artist's new shop and the job of getting the crystals harvested perfectly took years to perfect) and gifting them to the kalon. He isn't quite sure how he feels about them yet, but his determination to find and get new, unique crystals for them is very strong. Hyde tends to go out of his way to give them to the jeweller as well, since his shyness usually leads him to find safe but obvious new places to put the stones for them to find. The kalon on the receiving end of these gifts knows who is doing it as well and finds it nice and somewhat amusing- though when they wait in one of the spots the crystals are found in to thank him, the materials are always found in a different place.

In general, Hyde has always been very curious and especially interested in lore, myths, and most stories. He has always taken pride in his vampire-inspired shine and fangs, though he honestly doesn't know how they ended up like that. He doesn't seem to actually be one of the dangerous creatures, but he has always been intrigued at the thought.

Alexei is a Russian spy. He uses his charm to gain information from the ladies he interrogates and his large stature to intimidate the men into breaking down in interrogation. As a child, Alexei was pushed around and bullied for his fluffy, childish look. The other boys at his school told him he was a baby, a weakling because of his fluff. The bullying got worse and worse as the years past until it became too much. One day Alexei just snapped and hit one of his bullies. He only saw red, and one by one downed each of the bullies as they tried to harass him that day. It took the headmaster all day to catch on due to Alexei hiding his bullies in any place he thought no one would look, except he didn't expect a teacher would choose one of the many unused classrooms as his private lunchroom. Alexei was immediately suspended and banned to ever attend that school or any other schools with in the immediate area. So he was transferred across the country and the same occurred there as in the past school. Year after year he jumped from school to school until one school heard of his exploits. A secret school by the name of Baxter Spy Initiative heard of how he would take down and hide his bullies, and they were impressed. They sent him an invitation to attend a meeting with some representatives (as another private school) so they could properly assess him. Alexei showed up and they decided to talk down to him. With his newly short fuse, he was quick to react as in the past, but he didn't expect them to have training in many different martial arts and other fighting techniques. He was down in ten seconds flat. Needless to say he was amazed and wanted to learn more. So he did. He climbed the ranks within the school quickly, learning more and more until he graduated and was picked up by a spy team. So that's where he is now.
