What are Khimaira Friesians?
Khimaira Friesians are a "normal" friesian breed with all characteristics of a friesian and a average height from 15 to 17 hands, but even 18 hands can occur. The first born Khimaira was mistaked for a chimera horse. But a genetic test showed otherwise, there wasn't a second DNA but a complete new and unknown gen. Because this gen makes the friesian look like a chimera it was named khimaira. khimaira doesn't produce a complete new dna coat and therefor it can only lighten or darken the base coat of the horse. Till now only the paint khimaira is known that makes the khimaira coloration looks like tobiano, overo, sabino or splash. But we believe that there will be more khimaira variations out there and we still try to breed them. Appaloosas are not known till now, but we have some great friesian mixed horses with appaloosa patterns, so we are sure to deliver them to you in a short amount of time.

Halter color: Eye color
Pearl/jewel color (halter): Black
Answer: When Flame's dam was pregnant with her, there appeared to be complications with the birth to come. She was growing slowly, quite small, backwards, and her mother was plagued with health issues even as early as the third month of gestation. The very superstitious owner of the mare, a native of the Americas, got one of the women in her family- a shaman of sorts, to try and get rid of whatever demon had obviously overtaken the growing foal.
What the owner did not expect is the elder lady to tell her that her mare held the 'child of fire' in her womb, and that the resulting foal would survive, and be the best horse the farm had seen in many years, but her mother would not survive the birth. The foal would bear the mark of her tumultuous entry into the world, and, as fire spreads and takes a forest for its own, creating new life in its wake, so too would the foal will take the world as her own, and live in power, beauty and grace.
