Why;

Kai sat in the waiting room, the clock was ticking but time was moving slowly. Every inch the minute hand moved made Kai's stomach knot up with dread.
The door to the procedure room opened, a doctor stepped out, "The procedure was successful." Kai's heart was in his throat with joy, he stood abruptly, "Can i see him?"

Kai entered the cafe, the smell of coffee and sweet icing overcame him. After being waved over eagerly he sat down at the table with his friend. "What are you having?"
"Hmmm, I don't know..."
"I might have the raspberry cheesecake."
"Ugh, I couldn't eat a bite of raspberry cheesecake if I wanted to, I might throw up, it's all they fed me in desserts for 3 weeks straight! And you know how important dessert is to me! I'll probably have the chocolate mousse."

Kai glanced across the contents of his fridge, a slice of raspberry cheesecake brought the memories flooding back, he grabbed the chilled plate and closed his fridge. Making his way over to the table, Raspberry Cheesecake was definately his favourite dessert.

It reminded him of how lucky he was that his friend was still alive.

Cake or cream? Lemon or blueberry? ...Why not all four? Jay is an aspiring baker who hopes to someday have his
own dessert shoppe. He’s mastered cupcakes and cookies, cakes and brownies… but his personal favorite has to be
trifle. The layered dessert consists of cake, custard or whipped cream, and various fruits. The combinations are
truly endless, and while Jay loves experimenting, he’ll always go for a lemon blueberry trifle when he’s baking
for himself. The combination of spongy cake, fluffy whipped cream, tangy lemon curd, and sweet wild blueberries
is the perfect mix of flavors and textures that always brings a smile to his face. Trifle is usually served in a very
large, very deep dish to show off all the layers, but Jay likes to keep his convenient by putting it into individual
jars. This way he can just grab a treat while he’s working and not miss a single second of precious bake time.
That, and it makes it easier to serve up all his friends without making a huge mess! After all, how else would he
get taste-testers for all his satisfyingly-sweet concoctions? (188/200)

Why;
Each a gift. Something pure, pristine. A unique desert that tastes mildly of coconut, but the taste and texture are not the favored part of the dish. The beauty of it comes from the blossom, the illusion of a flower blooming even in the most obscure places ( a fact that Finn finds cute-- amazing, even, always a lover of the cliche that flowers can bloom even in the darkest, or in this case sweetest, of places ).

Why;

As a kit, Everett loved going to parties and being given a little cup of jello with fish inside. Not only did the blue jello taste absolutely delicious, but it looked really cool after being pushed around by a spoon (and the candy fish weren't bad either ).


Now Everett is fascinated with jello art. Not only does he experiment with the different kinds/colors of jello, but he likes to think outside the box and try to do complex designs within the jello. And after taking many pictures of his jello art, he of course eats his beautiful treats.

Why; Damien has loved marzipan cake for as long as they could remember. Fluffy sweet frosting, a layer of raspberry jam, and the delicious almond paste covering is all they ask for for their birthday. Damien loves to sculpt things, even as a child. They would play with playdoh for hours shaping it, but their their mother didn't like that they always ended up eating it. To give them something else that he could play with but still munch on, their mother would whip up a batch of marzipan. Damien would mix chunks of it with food coloring, sculpt all the flowers and rabbits they wanted, and still be able to snack on his materials. Now the rose flavored desert reminds him of home and childhood, and he still sculpts little things out of it when no one is watching. [139/200]

Why; Denver grew up in the city but every summer he would visit the rest of his family in a small town in what felt like the middle of no where to him. On the very last day of their visit they would have a cook out, rain or shine, and his favorite part was of course dessert. Everyone would gather around the fire pit with their marshmallows and chocolate bars and tell stories about the year. Denver liked to watch the fireflies come out as his family chatted and laughed over their sweet, sticky creations. Now that all the cousins are grown up and everyone had their own lives, the reunions stopped but every time Denver has a smore he remembers those late nights and swears he can almost smell the fire too.
