poem;Shadows form inside the hallways,
Twisting shapes, they follow always,
Seeming to reflect, not I,
But this aching heart inside.
Withered, I have fallen, slowly,
Into musings, cold and lonely,
Whither shall I fly to next?
To heaven I do pray for rest!
This twisting pain inside my chest,
a dread of something formless, yet,
like ghosts that lurk in fairytales,
a sadness haunts me in the dales.
I came here with my hopes in tow,
during the lingering months of winter's snow,
when frosty chill, and snowy nights,
did not yet harm this heart of mine!
Yet as I stayed here, into springtime,
I found my hopes where taken!
Pulled, like carpet under feet,
I lost it's support yet under me!
I fell into a deep remorse,
And as the world seemed to rejoice,
for spring's sweet flowers, and radiant sun,
I sought the shadows, and avoided fun.
These shadows, they form inside the hallways!
Twisting shapes, they follow always,
Seeming to reflect, not I,
But this aching heart inside!
