Name: Tasgetius
Gender: Male
Personality: [300 words]

As an older Viscet, Tasgetius tends to be a bit wiser as he knows a bit more than Viscets who may be younger than; but this isn't always correct. He isn't ashamed to admit that there are things that he doesn't know about. He definitely loves giving advice to pack members or anyone he deems necessary to know. Tasgetius can be very sarcastic, so it may be hard to decipher if what he says is true or not. Due to his older age, Tasgetius is very, well, cranky and will easily lash out at someone if they annoy him to an extent. He is typically always cranky, no matter the day or its events. He is dedicated to his homeland and any of his fellow pack members, yet that doesn't mean they can avoid his wrath or his cranky moods. Tasgetius is easily angered and can be pretty over dramatic about it. He isn't physical when he gets angry at pack members, but can be towards to outsiders. When angry with pack members, he will usually deny them things or will vocally express why they need to leave him alone. He can be a pretty good natured dude as long as you don't bother him excessively or just annoy the heck out of him; which, it is pretty hard not to, as Tasgetius is very easily annoyed. Tasgetius, however, does prefer being alone over any company. He doesn't share what his thoughts or emotions are to just anyone. You have to be very, very close to Tasgetius to understand what's going through his mind. He is not one for celebrations or parties; he will deny an invitation or vocally announce his displeasure for them. Which, Tasgetius is very vocal and loud, so no one would be missing out on why.

Favorite Hobby/Pastime: [ 342 words ]

After living through the life as war commander, Tasgetius finds that being a medic has really calmed him down. While being a medic as a hobby may not be ideal to others, Tasgetius finds it as a perfect "retirement" hobby after his years in the war. He ran into this hobby after being taken to a healer after a painful incident that affected him terribly. He was in awe of the abilities medics have and their knowledge of the topic. So, he sat a task ahead of himself to break the code, and to become a medic. Working with medicine and those who are sick or injured has opened a new view on life Tasgetius has never seen before. It has also helped him realize how many different ways he can truly help others. Not only has he worked with plants and herbs, he has also been learning how to use restoration and healing magic. He finds the magic more efficient and quicker, but it also sucks away at his stamina and energy. He is often left exhausted after using his magic and will tend to sleep for a few days at a time. However, herbs and plants are not always in stock when Tasgetius may need them. There is a limited supply of them, and he will usually end up having to scavenge for just simple seeds to grow them. This frustrates him, as he cannot always be using healing magic. It saps far too much from his energy. He spends his days studying either the plants and herbs or his magic. He loves being able to work with wounds and injuries on other Viscets or creatures, and loves being able to understand what type of mixture {or magic} will help it. He loves exploring nature, so Tasgetius uses this as an excuse to go hunt down herbs or plants he may need, yet it tends to frustrate him when he can't. When he knows there is a shortage of a certain plant, he hesitantly resorts to studying his healing magic.

Extra #1: [ 1979 words ]

Tasgetius quietly trudged through the forest, his back aching. He was currently hunting down a herb he knew that would dull the throbbing if chewed. He winced, his gaze lowered as he stepped cautiously through the dark forest. Every step brought shooting pain, and a limp staggered his steps. Leaves rustled above him, the canopy hiding the sun behind the leaves fingers. The trees stood, towering above him with their twisted branches dipping in the breeze. Twigs and long dead leaves crackled and crunched beneath each hesitant step Tasgetius took. His gaze traveled along through the opened areas, his ears pinning back against his head. While yes, he had suffered pains worse than this, this was definitely something that was not enjoyable.

He was still a fresh newborn in the world of healers and medics, and he currently had no idea what plant he was looking for. Tasgetius winced, and slowly eased down against the trunk of a tree. He groaned, wincing as he peering around him. His heart jumped as he saw a plant that was semi-similar to a plant he had seen in his herbal book. Tasgetius reached over, plucking it fro the stem up. He drew it close, peering at it in all its three leaf glory. Sucking in a breath, he quickly drew it into his mouth, munching quickly. Tasgetius shuddered at the feeling and went to stand before he began to cough hard. The harsh taste reminded him of a not yet ripe lemon. He puckered his lips and went to stumble off, holding his aching stomach.

On his way back, Tasgetius began to realize that he would terribly regret eating those leaves. His paws were beginning to itch, and he would frantically rub them on tree trunks, on his sides and even on his face. His insides began to feel terrible, aching and burning. Tasgetius soon had to relax slowly on the ground, breathing hoarsely as he squirmed and writhed in pain. His throat felt like it was closing, and he began to shudder. His body itched horribly all over, and he gave a body shaking cough. The sun was setting, and the air was still thick with humidity. Tasgetius groaned out and sucked in harsh air as he made a sudden realization. That wasn't any medicinal plant. He had just consumed poison ivy; which was something he was extremely allergic to.

Tasgetius struggled to stand, his stomach twisting in pain. He groaned before he slowly managed to ease himself back down. The grass felt cool against his warmed cheek, sweat beginning to bead. His eyes closed and he struggled to relax with the amount of pain he was suffering from. He only tried to move when a stick cracked behind him.

"Oh my, you poor thing! What did you get yourself into?"

A shadow fell over him, and Tasgetius struggled to open an eye, peering up at her. He squirmed as she reached a paw down to touch him. His voice came out in raspy coughs. He was trying to warn her, not wanting her to suffer from a familiar state if she was allergic to poison ivy.

    "P... Poison....iv...y."

The female Viscet blinked, peering him over. Her mane was glowing, seeming to move with the wind, yet he ignored this. As of now, he was more worried about his survival. The female turned, taking off after a moment. His heart sank, and he laid his head back down to accept the obvious approach of death. Tasgetius feared she had just abandoned him to lay here writhing and squirming in pain. He groaned out, cursing himself mentally. His body felt extremely heavy and hot, as well as utterly itchy. His throat ached and throbbed, having the feeling of an itch that consumed his entire mouth.

A crunch brought him back to reality. The female was hovering back over him, holding a pouch in her paws and what seemed to be a makeshift bowl with her mouth. She leaned her head down, laying it beside his muzzle. She smelled sweet, the scent of morning dew hanging off her few. It was comforting. His gaze moved to the bowl, peering at the water as it sloshed around after the movement.

"Go ahead and drink, it has herbs crushed up in it. Those should help you."

The female spoke as she tore into the pouch, pulling something from it. Tasgetius shifted, managing to dip his muzzle in, and he eagerly sucked the water down. It had a harsh taste to it, almost tasting like soil. It was thicker than he expected, and he struggled to get down it. He coughed hard at the feeling of it sliding down his throat, his back legs kicking against the ground. He tensed as the female touched his side.

"Relax. It's a quick reacting herb, and it should start clearing up your insides in seconds."

She mused as she mashed more herbs and plants into a paste. She dabbed some water against the powder, mixing it into another bowl she had packed with her. Tasgetius twisted his head, watching her as best as he could. He was still intrigued, and this female obviously knew what she was doing.

"Oh, in case you were wondering, I'm Altäir Lumen, but you can call me Altäir."

She spoke nonchalantly as if he hadn't just been dying. Tasgetius coughed hoarsely, and she lifted a paw when he opened his mouth to respond. He gave a raspy huff, easing back down to try and relax. Tasgetius soon felt the effects of the medicine, inhaling sharply at the feeling of.. freedom from the pain. He groaned in relief and went to rub his eyes. Altäir's paw slammed down on his, and he gave a low bark of pain.

"Don't do that. You still have infected areas on your body."

She said sharply before she began to spread the cold paste over his fur in select spots. Tasgetius groaned, rolling his eyes. He felt the familiar bubbling anger at someone who was annoying him.

"How long before it's fully healed?"

Tasgetius was finally able to spit out. His throat was still sore, and his voice raspy. Altäir snorted as she continued rubbing it onto his skin. She lifted her shoulders in a shrug.

"Seeing how your body reacted and by how fast, I give this at least four days to heal fully."

She spoke, dabbing the paste onto his muzzle. He grumbled, ears pressing back as he let her. Four days? That was four too many. She nodded to herself and parted when all his affected areas were covered in the thick paste. The feeling caused his skin to crawl, and he huffed lowly in discomfort.

"Which means you get to come with me for four days because you obviously don't know what plants to not eat. By the way, why would you eat poison ivy?"

Tasgetius sucked in air from her scolding and from the question. He then realized he still had his back pain, which he found hurt very little compared to what he had just gone through. He tilted his head up to peer at her and smiled cheesily.

"I was... trying to find a herb that would help dull my back pain. And.. poison ivy looked like a plant that was in my herbal book."

He spoke, sitting up slowly. Altäir suddenly broke out laughing, falling back into the grass in amusement. Tasgetius furrowed his brow, glaring as she laughed, clenching her chest. He rolled his eyes and looked away, peering to the side. Altäir sat up after a couple of minutes, giggling. She was panting, obviously out of breath.

"You mistook poison ivy as a pain management herb? Why didn't you just try to find some ginseng roots?"

She was still giggling. Tasgetius huffed, rolling his eyes. She was right, but.. he didn't know what ginseng looked like. Or, he didn't know what they looked like now. He stood, going to walk off, tired of her already. His legs felt stiff, and his stomach was still feeling upset.

"Hey! No! You're coming with me!"

Altäir jumped in front of him, puffing her chest to peer larger despite their height difference. He glared down at her, obviously not amused.

    "Why?"

"Because! I need to monitor your condition! And to make sure you don't eat something you shouldn't!"

Altäir repeated desperately. Tasgetius huffed, rolling his eyes even more. He nodded slowly, looking away. Altäir smiled, and led him back to a small grove she found to rest in. It seemed to have taken them hours, and Tasgetius was utterly exhausted from what he went through. Plants and herbs grew all throughout the grove, making the grove smell uniquely different. It wasn't a bad smell, but it sure was strong. Altäir led him to the nest she built, nudging him carefully.

"Go ahead and sleep, I'll be watching over to make sure nothing gets worse."

He didn't complain. With a huff, the older male slowly eased his form into the nest. Altäir settled to the side, watching over him. She soon rose to gather something she needed to make a paste for him the moment he woke up. She spent the night making a larger batch of it.

When Tasgetius woke, his body was stiff. He groaned out and slowly managing to uncurl. Altäir was nowhere to be seen, and he looked around worriedly. He laid there, confused and slightly worried. Minutes later, a small female pushed into the grove. She held a pouch that was swollen with new herbs.

    "Oh! Good! You're finally awake!"

Altäir grinned and bounded over. Tasgetius simply nodded, not able to find his voice just yet. Dipping her paw down, Altäir slopped a large amount of paste into his fur and began to rub it along the slowly healing rashes. He cringed at the amount of paste she was rubbing, yet attempted to relax from it. She soon took a step back, glancing him over to make sure he seemed like he was improving. She was startled when he spoke.

"Can you.. teach me what you know?"

Altäir blinked at Tasgetius in surprise. She tossed the thought around before she smiled. He messed up, and here he was, not afraid to admit that he didn't know everything about herbs.

"Of course.. er... what is your name?"

She asked, embarrassed. He snorted, a little smirk to his face. He peered up at her.

"I'm Tasgetius, nice to meet you, Altäir Lumen."

She giggled and dipped her head. He smirked and managed to ease his head back down with a groan. Heavens above, his back still ached and throbbed. Noticing, Altäir passed something she had made up during the night for his back.

"Eat up, it'll help with your pain."

Tasgetius hesitated, looking it over. He leaned down, lapping it quickly so he didn't have to taste the sharp flavor for long. Shaking his head, he coughed frantically before nodding, speaking a hoarse thank you. Altäir giggled and went to settle next to the nest after grabbing a book from a nearby larger knapsack.

    "What is the book for?"

He asked, confused. He tilted his head as he watched. Tasgetius almost regretted the question as she giggled.

"It's for your lessons, silly, now come! Listen to what I have to teach."

With a roll of his eyes, Tasgetius turned to face her, leaning close to listen. This went on for days, even after the time his rash had healed. He stayed with Altäir to learn and expand his little knowledge of herbs and plants. And, which ones to eat and what ones not to eat. Altäir Lumen is the reason Tasgetius was intrigued further into this hobby and why he stayed on this route. To this day, his knowledge has been expanded vastly far, and he's still pretty close to her.

Username: SableShine
Name: Viridian
Gender: Male
Personality:

(Word Count: 258)

Viridian believes deeply in beauty. He can find the artistic side to anything, a trait which leaks into the rest of his life, leaving him with an unstoppably positive personality.

It doesn't take much to persuade Viridian to join anyone on their latest adventure. He absolutely hates doing nothing. Naps are completely foreign to him. Only when ill can he be found at home for any period of time, and of course he makes a terrible patient.

Despite this he can be still in certain situations - namely when viewing or creating art. Often he has been known to disappear completely into his own world in front of a work of art, or when watching an artist at work. Even calling his name at full volume into his ear gets you nowhere. Not a twitch.

Elsewhere in life, Viridian is much more switched on. Though he is incredibly social and well known as the centre of any gathering of viscets he finds himself in, Viridian is extremely picky with his food. He finds it very difficult to eat in front of others and often goes most of the day without because of this. His mother used to make sure he always got a portion of whatever she hunted down, delivering it silently to the door of his home, but since her death a year ago he has been steadily losing weight. With the charm of a fox and a variety of distraction techniques, he manages to throw most off the scent. His weight is starting to attract notice, though.

Favorite Hobby/Pastime:

(Word count 167)

Viridian's main pastime and work is making art, but his hobby is creating new ways to do so. Most of his experiments never see the light of day. Failed pigments made with berries, torn up leaves meant as canvasses, and we won't ask him what that bowl of grubs is all about. He's always coming up with something new, though.

He also loves to view art, as we know. Recently he spent a lot of time sitting in the light of a stained glass window. Everyone thought he was inspecting how the light hit the floor, and bets were made on what he would come up with next. He wasn't, though. He was studying the coloured light falling on his own fur. No one expected his next experiment to be painting himself - perhaps the only canvas he had not yet tried. They're fascinated, watching him trying these things out. They quickly skitter off when he looks up though, paints in paw, a calculating look in his eyes.

Re: Viscet #885 Re-adopt- Winner

There were a lot of excellent forms. Seriously, you guys, you all are super talented! All of you had some fantastic and unique ideas, and if this were a regular competition and not a re-adopt I would give away at least one RU if not more and definitely a couple of HM's.
Sadly, this is a re-adopt, and I cannot do that.

It was so hard to pick. Especially between my top two picks D:

Honestly, the creativity and story building in both Placebo's and Tenlittlesolderboy's forms were just superb. Both were unique and beautiful stories in their own way, and the different elements of their forms made some very cohesive character development and both told just fantastic tales.
It was a hard decision, but in the end I had to settle on Placebo.
Everything was so unique and beautiful. I love how Desmond grew from being a majorly destructive (and greedy/selfish) force to a protector. It was a much needed transformation for him-- and one that was really believable written out. I was so thoroughly impressed by your form even without taking your beautiful art into consideration (which the main piece for the hobby is just lovely, and the hobby just works so well and is unique in it's own right while fitting right in with just the general him )

Thank you so much to everyone that entered, I thoroughly enjoyed reading all your forms when I had the time to sit down and go through them all in one sitting. I hope to see effort and creativity like this in every competition, and you guys really didn't disappoint!

Oh my lord above yes ;^;

Thank you, so much Strudel! It makes me inordinately happy to see that Desmond's character arc endeared you so much and the story I was trying to portray was interesting to you as well. This comp made me so nervous because of everyone's amazing concepts, and I'm really glad that I can continue on with Desmond's story in his little self-imposed bubble of the peninsula. That's not to say anything of the creatures he'll connect to in the future of course, and where his story will lead ;u;

Can I be added to his color ref as well?
