this special babe works at a bakery — in fact, they own it and run it all by theirselves. after saving up money from working at another local coffee shop, alix finally earned enough cash to create the perfect little dream they've wanted ever since they were a child. at a very young age, they always had a passion for pastries (eating and making them, that is). over time, they've even made up delightfully different recipes and collected various new customers from across the world. their favorite type of pastry they like to make is a strawberry rhubarb shortcake, but their kind comes with a twist — tiny, tasteful cream puffs on top of the strawberries and whipped cream. it's definitely a hit in alix's cafe and one of their best-selling items sold on the menu. every moment they're seen, it's with specks of flour forgotten on their fur and with their hair up out of their face. they greet each and every customer with a bright smile. their goal is for each one of the kalons to see how a simple ambition can affect a life and how to lead up to that point in nirvana.

when they were more youthful, they were fairly shy. now that alix owns a booming business, they can't afford to be shy and have tried to put that in the past. at fourteen, they were diagnosed with social anxiety and still have to take medication for it. some day, they hope to recover and be a better person than they were before. currently at age nineteen, being employed in the pastry market and serving consumers really does help with their mental state.

(short story)

after a long day of work, alix settled down in a chair and propped their hind paws up on a table, telling theirselves they'd wash it soon. but of course, they wouldn't take the time to do so. after hours was a time for them and only them — save for their pastries. this was one of their favorite moments of the day. for this was the moment that they could relax and eat all of the leftover pastries. they had just gathered a few cream puffs and were stuffing their mouth when there was a knock at the door.

it was late at night, so alix had to strain their eyes in the darkness outside to see who it was. after a few moments of letting their eyes adjust, they could clearly see the face of a pretty female kalon smiling back at their baffled expression. "u-uh, we're closed," they stammered out and offered a small shrug.

her face fell and she pleaded, "please, it'll only be a moment! i wanted to stop by after work...i've heard great things about this place." at that and her beauty, alix couldn't help but let her in and rang her up on the cash register.

with just one bite, her eyes lit up, and she bought most of the strawberry rhubarb shortcakes left. "these are wonderful! do you make them fresh every day?" before they could respond, she went on. "i'm going to come back here every day on my lunch break and buy one — or two. thank you so much!" she gave alix a quick embrace and hurried out of the store after paying, leaving the shy kalon with a deep blush on their cheeks.

unknown to both in that moment, over time the two would fall in love with each other over sharing strawberry rhubarb shortcakes each day.
