Tracker Dog you want:
Number 27
Name you'll give it:
Kai
Reason for the name:
Kai means water, and his colors make me think almost instantly of water and ice. He loves to be in water, no matter the temperature.
Reason why you want it:
The light colors appeal to me, as water is my element. He reminds me of a crystal clear brook just after all the ice has melted away.
Will it be used in any kind of story?
Probably. I haven't quite decided yet.
Describe its personality:
Kai is the type of tracker dog that he only really connects to one person. He is extremely loyal to that person, and will face death to save them. Kai is a strict on manners and respect, and commands it for himself and for his person. He is affectionate, but this is usually only for his person. He is always polite, but those he hasn't connected with will almost feel a chill come from him. Kai loves to work, and is often used for snow rescues in the ski resorts of Colorado. He is also used during the summer months when hikers go missing. He is tenacious and stubborn, and will not give up when he is working, especially when children are involved. He is a good guard dog as well, although he isn't happy if that is his only job. Kai doesn't enjoy playing that much, he finds it a waste of time and energy that could be used for working. He isn't tolerant of other dogs, or really other animals in general.

Write an introduction for your Tracker:
I admit it, I was frantic. My daughter had gone out hiking with her friends four days ago, and I still hadn't heard from them. The police had been searching, but their dogs couldn't handle the steep terrain, so they called Nex. I'd heard of her, and her tracker dogs, although I'd never seen one. They were calling in Kai, a new one of her creations to find her. My heart was in my throat as the police van pulled up to my house. As the door slid open, I almost expected to see a three-headed monster jump out. Instead, there was Kai. He was absolutely beautiful. Although he had no eyes, he looked directly at me, his large ears focused on me. His pelt was absolutely beautiful, the pools of blue white and purple perfectly suited for one another. His long legs were slim, but muscular and I knew he'd have about as much trouble as a mountain goat navigating those steep inclines and sudden drops in the moutains. As the police walked towards me, I got the feeling that Kai was more focused than his human counterparts on his duty. They stopped in front of me and I glanced at the officer, waiting for him to speak. I was shocked when a deep voice came from what seemed to be the ground. "Ma'am, my name is Kai. I promise you, I will find your daughter, but first, I need her scent. Would you be so kind as to bring me something of hers?" I nodded and ran to grab her favorite sweatshirt. I held it out to him and he inhaled deeply, then immediately began to track. "Kai, not here. I'm going to take you to the trail head and from there you can track." He agreed and they climbed into the van, heading to find my daughter.
The unfamiliar turf beneath my paws was not a problem as I tracked the vanilla-laden scent of Amelia Wolfe. Aged seventeen, missing for four days. The facts chased themselves around my head like a bored dog chasing its tail as I followed the scent trail. I'd been on the job for over an hour, and was finally getting close, I could sense it. Suddenly the scent veered off and I went to follow it, noticing the sudden incline beneath my paws. I knew that something had gone very wrong as blood began to mingle with the scent I was tracking, so I picked up my pace. Not fifteen minutes later, I heard a faint call for help, so I broke into a run. The trail and the calls led to a tiny ledge, and there was where I found her, bleeding, cold and hungry. She wrapped her arms around my neck as the officers carefully approached, happy to see the young lady alive.

Two Years Later
I lounged in my bed, my head on my paws as my ears kept track of everything going on around me. There was Amelia, my person, laughing at something her mother said. There was the annoying sound of their cat meowing for food and the ringing of the phone. Amelia answered it and grew quiet, and my sensitive hearing picked up the male voice on the other end. "Mia, there's been another avalanche. The other dogs can't get in. We need Kai." I wagged my tail and got to my paws, stretching. I knew what that meant. I was about to go save someone else's life.

Tracker Dog you want: 28
Name you'll give it: ateuro
Reason why you want it: ateuro is the coolest tracker i have ever seen! i have wanted a tracker forever, and i looove her!

Will it be used in any kind of story? no, maybe in my book, but as a different form.
Describe its personality: ateuro is a very sewwt tracker, besides for the fact that when she gets mad... anyone but me had better stay away...

Write an introduction for your Tracker:

ateuro leaped out of the lab and saw the humans scatter. she barked for the other abnormal trackers, she felt powerful. ateuro leaped on top of the dark-haired man and he was shaking. she drooled, he paralyzed. ateuro jogged over to the female wearing blue. she liked this one. she walked and stood next to her. the girl looked suprised, she was shocked that this dangerous tracker had chose her over the lab master. ateuro smelled her. "she has not had a tracker yet.." and decided this was her new master. she was dedicated to helping this human.

amber screamed as she watched the terrifying tracker walk towards her. she hoped she would not touch her. but there she was. ateuro. the mutation, the one she raised. ateuro did not rember, for she was washed of her childhood, for she was pampered. amber felt strong when the dog stood next to her, sniffed her. he crests on her head were gorgeous. she stroked the crest, and ateuro shivered down her spine and began to oose. amber jumped away, hoping for it to not touch her. she new what it did. ateuro looked at her. she seemed to smile. amber ran off, with ateuro trailing after her.

giant wip!

Tracker Dog you want:29
Name you'll give it:Mystery
Reason why you want it: i love suprises.....

Will it be used in any kind of story?maybe
Describe its personality:her personality is quite odd, she loves to run, yet is mostly lazy, she can be sweet, but most of the time she must be held back in the presence of strangers..... :twisted:

Write an introduction for your Tracker:
I stood next to Nex as we lookedinto the empty room. "Where are they with number 29?" questioned Nex. " I am not sure, maybe there was a delay, I hope she hasn't escaped" I said worriedly. Suddenly, a loud alarm went off. A man in a lab coat burst in the room " NUMBER 29 HAS ESCAPED!!!!!!!"............

Erm, I don;t think you were supposed to apply for 29 yet. Considering he/she doesn't exist yet.

Nex, the new trackers are lovely. I adore the bio-weapon! Very Lev. (Leviathan)
I am tempted to try, but I refuse to not have my soon-to-be custom. He shall be amazing. Just like everything else on here!

Tracker Dog you want:
27
Image

Name you'll give it:
Jace

Reason why you want it:
From his pristine blue ears to his soft purple tail, I adore every inch of him. Originally I had decided that I would not adopt another tracker after Kendal, but something about Jace just clicked. Within seconds of looking at his brightly coloured coat and the perfect flow of his designs, I immediately saw his personality and the perfect job for him.

Will it be used in any kind of story?
Definitely, I’d have to kick myself if I didn’t write him a story. He’s too perfect not to have at least a personal history.

Describe its personality:
Jace is not one to mess around on the job. Once sent out onto Everest, he stays completely focused on the task at hand, not only because he has a very limited time in which to locate his targets, but also because of the dangers of climbing the icy slopes of the mountain.
Jace also works as a guide to help his companion take people safely up and down Everest. He is very loyal to his master and stays close by her side unless needed elsewhere.
He gets nervous when guiding large groups of humans, so he is most commonly seen with no more than four people including his companion.
Very careful to keep an eye on each person in a team, Jace can sometimes stress himself out a bit more than is healthy. During these times, his companion will cuddle up with him in one of the tents over night and stroke his thick fur.
Though he prefers guidance missions, Jace is willing to take on any duty he is assigned; just so long as he gets lots of love when he returns home again.
After losing one woman on a trip to the summit, Jace gained a profound sense of duty. He silently vowed to himself never to let another human die while they were with him, even if it cost him his own life to save them.

Write an introduction for your Tracker:
Everest looked foreboding as ever from base camp. Soft white snow drifted lightly down from the sky, caught up in a brisk breeze before reaching the ground, and sent flying back toward the heavens.
Jace felt a chill run down his spine as the icy wind whipped through his fur. Beside him, one hand placed gently on his head, stood his companion Lei. She was already shivering, despite her thick coat and gloves. This would be a difficult climb, almost impossible without him.
“What do you think Jace? Are we going to make it this time?” Lei’s voice was soft, but it pierced the tracker to his very soul. His last climb had been a failure. One of the members of his team had not followed his lead exactly and had fallen through some thin ice that had formed over a crevasse. There had been nothing he could do and the woman had died.
With a soft whine, Jace leaned his body against Lei’s leg, obviously still wanting comfort for the accident.
“Aww Jace, it’ll be alright. No one blames you for what happened.” She crouched down beside him, wrapping her arms around his neck and stroking the back of his head lightly. “It wasn’t your fault.”

Lei had decided to make a climb alone with Jace. She hadn’t gone on a solo climb with him since he was first adopted just over a year ago. She had trained him in climbing as well as high altitude rescues long before they climbed Everest for the first time. Jace had learned quickly, taking to the steep slopes of the mountain like a mountain goat, picking his way almost effortlessly through the rocks and snow.

Getting to her feet again, Lei smiled, “Alright bud, are you ready to head out?” The tracker nodded as she strapped his pack on before lifting her own onto her shoulders. Checking quickly to make sure that Jace’s specially-made oxygen mask was in his pack, they headed off toward the Khumbu Icefall. This was always one of the most dangerous sections of the route, but with Jace around, it was not too difficult to avoid crevasses and shifting ice.
~~~
A harsh wind blew Jace’s ears almost flat against his head, causing him to growl softly at the momentary loss of most of his sense of hearing. They had reached the first camp in approximately two hours and were currently moving along to camp two where they would spend the night.
Moving through the Western CWM was not as bad as it had been the last time they climbed. This time it was a comfortable 65 degrees Fahrenheit compared to the almost unbearable 80 degrees last time. Because the Western CWM was surrounded by bowl-shaped slopes, the solar radiation reflected off the snow and the sides, causing the temperatures to skyrocket despite the high elevation.
Jace, however, was not enjoying the warmer temperatures as much as Lei. His skin itched unbearably and he had to stop several times to scratch at some of the most annoying itches. He was relieved to finally pass through the Nuptse corner passage and move back into the colder weather.
~~~
It was exactly midnight when Jace woke after reaching the fourth and final camp before the summit. After five gruelling days of climbing, they were almost to the top. Now that they were within the ‘death zone’ they knew they needed to move quickly if they were going to reach the summit. Because it would take most of the day to reach the top, it was necessary to wake early so that they could have plenty of time to get there and back to camp before they lost the light again.

Equipped with oxygen tanks and a few extra layers of covering, the pair headed out into the frozen wasteland that was the final stretch of Everest. At this point, even Jace was bundled up and carried a tank of oxygen strapped to his back, the mask was specially made to fit him while still allowing him to be alert to new scents that would pose a danger to himself and Lei.
He trotted quickly along, keeping his ears alert for even the slightest sound besides the shifting of the snow and the crunching of their feet over both rocks and ice.
Lei’s breathing was haggard already, the air thin and difficult to get enough oxygen from. Jace slowed down a bit, allowing her to catch up so he could keep a closer eye on her. He didn’t want her to fall too far behind him, just in case something happened.
“I’m fine Jace, really.” Lei called through the wind that whipped around them. She reached down to place a thickly gloved hand on his head. The tracker could feel the shivers wracking her body, though he wasn’t too worried. They had taken many people to the summit over the course of a year and she was physically more prepared for each climb than 90% of those they had guided.
~~~
They reached the summit in record time. Jace almost wished that he could see the view that Lei always stood in awe starting at.
Wagging his tail slightly, he moved to nudge her back the way they had come. It was time to head down before the afternoon storms hit or they ran too low on oxygen.
Excited at the prospect to be heading back to where it was safe and he could spend time resting his senses and relaxing, Jace trotted ahead, picking his way down the mountain quickly, following their scent trail back toward camp four.
A sudden deafening crack stopped him in his tracks. Jerking around toward where Lei was standing, he leaped at her, determined to pull her out of the way, knowing that the ice beneath her was about to give way.
He was just a second too late, and his jaws clamped shut on air as Lei’s terrified scream filled his ears. She slid several feet down a steep slope before dropping out of sight, landing with a painful crunch at the bottom of a twelve foot cliff.
Jace’s mouth dropped open in a horrified yelp and he skidded after her, legs moving quickly, his sharp claws the only things preventing him from sliding over the edge as well. Picking his way to the bottom of the cliff, he raced to where Lei’s body lay in a crumpled heap.
With a soft whimper, Jace nudged her, listening carefully until he recognized the sharp pained breaths emanating from her.
“Dangit Jace, and here I thought,” She paused, drawing in a sharp breath as she dragged herself into a sitting position, jarring a rib she immediately knew was broken, “that we were going to make it without an accident.”
Jace nuzzled against her chest gently, listening carefully to the slight creak as her broken rib moved a little bit. He quickly brushed his nose along the rest of her limbs, searching for anything else that was broken or swollen. He cringed when he reached a spot just below her left knee. Her leg was broken.
He raised his head toward her face, whining. “Yeah, I know Jace. I felt it when I hit the bottom.” Lei sighed. “Here, help me up.” Jace leaned down so she could get her arm over his back. Getting painfully to her knees, Lei started to pull her feet beneath her, only to scream and fall back to the ground.
By this time, Jace could sense the oxygen in his tank getting low, making it harder for him to breathe comfortably.
Seeming to sense his discomfort, Lei sighed, “Jace, you need to get back down to base camp.” The tracker leaned down, putting his head under her arm as if trying to help her up again. “No Jace, leave me here, I can’t walk with this broken leg.”
Jace shook his head frantically, nuzzling up against her side with a low moan of frustration. He couldn’t just leave her here to die. She was his friend and companion; he didn’t want to lose her.
“Go Jace.” She said sternly. Her breathing was growing more laboured as she too began running low on oxygen. When the tracker didn’t move, she pulled her arm away from him and tried to push him away. “People die here, it happens.”
For the first time since she had met him, he lifted his head and growled at her. There was no way he was going to leave her to die, he could not bear losing another team member, especially not his companion. Getting to his feet, he glared down at her with an apologetic look for a moment before grabbing the hood of her coat and dragging her back onto her knees.
She cried out in pain as the motion jarred her broken bones, but she did not have the energy to fight against his insistence.
He managed to get her onto her knees, and that was all he seemed to need. He stopped pulling on her hood and leaned down in front of her. She knew what he wanted almost immediately, but she also realized how unbearable the pain would be in her ribs if she were to ride down to the camp while straddling his back.
At Lei’s hesitation, Jace barked irritably and scooted closer to her, nudging her stomach with his side. “Alright, fine.” Lei murmured, wrapping her arms around his warm body and pulling herself painfully onto his back.
She could hear him straining against her weight as he got to his feet and started toward the cliff. His breathing was harsh and pained; the oxygen in his tank completely gone at this point, making each breath difficult, not allowing him enough oxygen to think correctly and sending his senses out-of-whack.
~~~
It took ages to reach camp four again, Jace coming to a stumbling stop, losing his footing just outside the closest tent. He whimpered softly as Lei flopped off of his back and crawled to the tent, opening the flap and letting them both inside.
Jace curled up around Lei as she grabbed the two nearest oxygen tank refills and attached their masks.
The oxygen was like water in a desert to Jace. He sucked it in deeply, filling his lungs with the delicious element until he was able to breathe normally. The overwhelming fatigue from the difficult climb back down with Lei on his back had him drifting off to a troubled sleep within minutes.
~~~
Lei grabbed the radio and quickly contacted both base and camp three. They would be sending a couple of guides up to help her off the mountain where she could get treatment for her broken bones.
She lay in the tent, waiting for the help to arrive, stroking Jace’s head lovingly. He had saved her life, even at risk to his own well-being. Because of his loyalty and determination, they would both make it home again. And for this, she was grateful.
