Name; Koryn
Gender; Unknown. They prefer not to tell, and often lie to others, alternating
between "Male" and "Female" answers. (They are not genderfluid though).
Personality; Koryn is immortal and lives in a rose maze. They love to prank
and play tricks on any who venture into their maze. They love playing games.
However, they are always bored no matter what they do. Koryn hates getting
attached to others, in case they leave the maze, preferring the comfort of their
cozy homes, rather than the thorns and thistles of Koryn's maze. Koryn's only
wish is the forever companionship of a friend, who'll stay by their side.

Hello, my name is Teleo...
Ambrós
is male.....

On the outside
On the outside....Well- Ambrós doesn't like to show much. He's constantly hiding himself
behind walls of outward hatred and so-called "playful" teasing. (Although most of his
"teasing" is taken seriously by other Kalons, resulting in Ambrós successfully isolating
himself most of the time.) Another wall belonging to Ambrós is humor. He hides most
behind humor, joking about terrible, terrible things. Things which may include the death
rate of natural disasters, (or disasters in general) terrible catastrophes, or other things
which could possibly offend other Kalons. This is yet another way to push others as far
away from Ambrós as possible. He "likes" to be by himself. Or, so he says. Contrary to his
looks, Ambrós also believes love is a non-existent concept that other beings like to
conceive due to their own weakness. This belief could be caused by a multitude of things.
Ambrós could've been heartbroken in the past, he could've been abandoned, possibly
abused. As you could infer, he doesn't like to share things which come from his deep,
gooey insides.

On the inside
A lot of Ambrós' life as a kit wasn't the best, but he'll never tell. He lives his days quietly,
often moving along under the radar. He does this because beneath all of his walls, he's
quite sensitive, caring, and overall, lost. He doesn't let anyone get close. At least, he'll do
anything to avoid closeness. He'll push, push, and push away, but maybe one day, a very
persistent kalon MIGHT get through, if they're lucky. His humor often attacks personal
traits about a kalon, just so they'll go away. He'll constantly tell any Kalon with any
romantic interest, (weather it be a small crush or a butterflies-in-my-tummy interest)
that love is just a weakness to be corrected. But...maybe one day someone might just
be dedicated enough to change his mind. Anyways, somewhere deep down, all Ambrós
wants is someone to love him. He wants desperately to believe in the concept of love, he
just doesn't know it. He's actually very depressed, but his depression only shows in forms
of anger, jokes, and a bit of irritable teasing. He's never actually intending to be
mean, however it often comes off this way... And it doesn't help that he never apologizes.

Portrayal to acquaintances

As the previous passages explain, Ambrós doesn't like strangers. He'll
push everyone away, and not in a necessarily kind way. he has strict,
not-so-popular opinions and he'll voice them. He's quick to judge
someone, and he'll let you know if he doesn't like you after he studies
you for a conversation or two. He doesn't like a lot of Kalons, but if
someone is offended by him and they act on it, Ambrós is not known
to fight back, even verbally. He'll simply trot away at any sign of a
fight, uttering some smart remark as he goes, one the opponent
cannot hear. Usually only to get in the last word. HOWEVER,
if a persistent Kalon comes around, the kind that kills
depression, irritability, and saltiness with kindness, Ambrós
might just come out of his shell, and accept them into
his life as a friend.

Portrayal to friends
When Ambrós DOES have friends, he continues for a while to push
away. He's constantly testing his friends' limits and if the Kalon
breaks and Ambrós succeeds in his isolation, he'll most likely blame
the other kalon for leaving him and be mad or upset at them for a
while. It's super hard to gain Ambrós' trust, but when you do, it's
worth it. His friends,(after they pass all of his silly tests) grow on
Ambrós like muscles grow on a docked boat; they become a part
of him. He may keep this to himself, however. This is just another
one of his many, many faults. These faults have reasons behind them,
though. His upbringing has much to do with his...quirks. nonetheless
when/if you push hard enough, try hard enough, and want it bad enough,
becoming one of Ambrós' allies is one of the greatest things you could
ask for, especially when he begins to open up more, and lets you in as
a close friend.

Portrayal to close friends
If you think Ambrós doesn't have trust issues, you better think
again because he has, (at most) one or two close friends at a
time. Letting other Kalons in is like stepping on hot coals for
Ambrós. But when he does, he becomes almost a completely
different babe. His close friends get a peek into who Ambrós
really is. Ambrós is caring. He cares SO much about
others who he believes care about him that he'd do almost
anything to keep them safe. Earlier it was mentioned that
Ambrós doesn't fight, and this is true...when he's defending
himself. But if you cross one of Ambrós' friends, prepare for
many, many clever insults to come your way. Ambrós doesn't
attack any Kalon physically, oh no. He'll cut deep to where it
hurts. He doesn't do it for no reason, though. So don't worry
too much about it... Besides, Ambrós also likes to keep this
a secret, sort of his secret weapon.

Portrayal to self

Ambrós portrays himself to others most of the time as an
overly-confident and a pretty rude Kalon. He often excuses his
behavior by thinking to himself, "well that's just me.." and, he
plays the victim role. I won't get into all that therapy, drama-
triangle stuff right now but the victim role is basically where
Ambrós doesn't take any accountability and he blames others for
his actions. "That's not MY fault!" or "Stop blaming me!" He does
not express this openly, however, but only thinks this to himself in
his head.

I met her at the park. I saw her running there, sweat dripping down her forehead and her cheeks flaming with the heat. She definitely had a small case of sunburn, to say the least. But what really caught my eye was her eyes. There was a sparkle of something vivid in them. I'll never forget that.
But that's when she really shocked me. The two of us jogging opposite directions, passing like any other strangers would without a second thought. Then I looked back. I saw her turn off the path and in that split second, she took a wild dive straight into the stream. Her laugh was infectious and I had to stop and stare. That's when she waved me over, and like the idiot I was, I let her pull me in.

It took me three days before she finally gave me her name. Aster. She told me I was stupid for telling her mine so fast. She tried to make me guess, but it turns out I don't know a whole lot of flower names. I still call her Daisy sometimes. She hates that. But I think she kinda loves it too.

I told her that third night that she was like nobody I'd ever met before. In three days we'd become inseparable. I couldn't leave her side. At that point, I was already considering dropping out of my accounting major "I need a good job" plans. Of course, I did, or I wouldn't be where I am now. Needless to say, she's also the one who convinced me I could make a living out of outdoor adventures. Turns out all you need is a GoPro and a little guts and your cliff diving videos go viral fast. I don't think anything was as scary as the hang gliding though. I'm never gonna forget the feeling of my feet leaving the earth that first time - and her laugh when I slammed into the tree before is made it 50 feet.

Finally on the two month anniversary of the day we met, I asked her if she'd be my girlfriend. I couldn't live without her. She shocked me out of my boring life into something so new and exciting I couldn't stand the thought of being without her. She meant everything to me and I wanted us to last forever.
When she said no, I broke down on the spot. She did too. And for the two weeks we didn't talk after, that's what I couldn't get off my mind. Missing her, and making her cry.

After those two weeks I couldn't take it anymore. I called her up and begged her to stay, even if it meant we'd just be friends. I poured my heart out, honest to God I did. I couldn't live without her. She was my inspiration and my whole world and I was falling apart without her. Yeah, the both of us cried a lot of tears that night. But I finally drove out to her place and in a mess of tears in my arms she finally told me why she said no. I told her I didn't care if she couldn't have kids. I needed her. I wasn't gonna let anything stop us. She finally said yes.

kyar, your writing told a really heart touching story and i really felt for both characters in it; however, this contest was based a little more towards overall personality of this one kalon, not two. i really love the story you created though, and i encourage you to use it for a different kalon !!

emberwisp, your art's simply gorgeous, and i give you props for being the only one to replicate this kalon's design! your art really showed a lot of personality, especially the expression-- however, i couldn't get the overall sense of who the kalon was from your art. keep drawing though- because your art sure is gorgeous!!
