History (told in human/ anthro form):
I'll skim through my childhood quickly, because things don't really change for me until high school. I was a born into an average middle class family. I got good grades in school and I was relatively popular, being a natural extrovert. I was teased a bit in school, but most go through that. Middle school was the same deal. As I entered high school, most everyone already had their careers picked out, but I still had yet to figure mine out. All I know was I wanted to work with an animal of some sort. I remember walking home in the rain, hoping the storm looming over my town had passed already. As I headed up my driveway, I noticed a downed branch. It wasn't until I got closer that I saw the now broken nest. With the sate of the nest, I had thought the owner would have flown before anything happened. A soft, distressed twittering noise emerged as I grew closer. I moved the downed branch, revealing a small red-winged blackbird with a broken wing. I cautiously picked it up to examine it, the blackbird uncontrollably drooping its left wing. I called a vet to have the bird checked out. When I took the bird to see the vet, we'd found out that his wing was shattered beyond belief, and he'd never make it back out to the wild as he could no longer fly. I took him in, named him Kali, and the rest is history. In taking care of him, I discovered a passion for it.
