His submissiveness allowed other stallions to drive him out of his own herd time and time again, forcing Flier to seek refuge in another stallion's herd. In spite of this, Flier tries to keep his head up, making him a cheery companion.

Why?:

The Black Stallion is actually the earliest movie that I can remember watching, in addition to reading the book. I must have only been in 4th or 5th grade when I first read/saw it, but it's still my favorite story. I love the story of Alec and the Black, how they both survived the ship wreck and Alec's eventual taming of the Black, who was previously unapproachable. If you haven't seen it then I definitely recommend it!
