Once on the verge of extinction, the jäykkä were brought from their native frigid nordic home to that of warmer climates in efforts to help save a dying breed. They were best known for being the companion of old nordic vikings and were once thought to be a gift bestowed to the vikings from their gods. They are rigid and strong, ever lasting through all types of terrains and adapting to the needs of the people they lived along side of. In the beginning they were mostly only used as barn companions or farm help, but in better efforts to save the species and promote diversity they hand selected a few lipizzaner stallions and mares to add some better genetic diversity as well as hoped it would help the jäykkä feel more at home in their new environment. Today they are an all around versatile breed of horse, being able to pull cart and any heavy lifting due to their heritage but with the grace and agility introduced to them from the lipizzaners.

Story: Jewel Was Out Riding On Callie Through The Snowy Trails Leading Up The Mountain. As Callie Trotted Up, Her Hooves Hitting The Snow Making A Crunching Sound. Jewel Focuses On Getting Up To The Marking Point And There Shelter For The Night. But Something Caught Callie Off Guard And She Reared, Throwing Jewel Off Her Back And Onto The Cold Hard Floor. Callie Moved Back, And Jewel Slowly Rose From The Ground Sitting Up At First Taking Off The Helment And Rubbing The Now Aching Part Of Her Head. Jewel Started To Stand, She Raised Her Hands Towards Callie, Saying 'Shh' Or 'It's Okay, It's Just Me' But She Just Seems To Back Away More. The Huge Horse Was Terrified Like A Kitten Meeting A Gaint Dog For The First Time. Jewel Finally Grabbed Brible And Lead Callie Back Up, They Finally Met The Destination And Stopped For The Night. At The Stopping Point Was A Small Cabin And A Two Stall Barn, Jewel Left The Empty One Open, While Callie's Was Closed.
.The Next Morning.
When Jewel Awoke She Went To Check On Callie, But When She Entered The Small Stable, She Saw This Pinto Like Figure In The Stall That Was Empty. She Quickly Closed The a Door To The Stall. When It Slammed Shut, It Scared Callie And The Other Horse. The Unknown Mare Started Bucking And Going Crazy, While Callie Neighed A Bit. Jewel Then Pulled Out Her Phone And Called Her Husband, Jack To Bring The Trailer. Which He Did, And They Somehow Got The Horse Into The Trailer, While Callie Was Rode Back To The Stables. Jack Backed Up The Trailer Into A Paddock, And Released The Horse. When The Horse Got Offf It Seemed To Have Been To Stubborn And Kicked The Trailer A Lot, And Pushed Herself Through The Door. This Horse Was Gonna Be The Death Of Jewel.
After Some Research Jewel Learned Of This Breed Of Horse, And Was Determined To Tame One, Mainly, This Stubborn Mare. -WIP-
