Why you chose it:
I chose this name because it gave me a backstory for her, in that she was abandoned by her parents for a reason unbeknownst to her, before she could remember anything. She struggled with the fact that she had no name, and for a while didn't go by anything at all. She doesn't remember where, but she came across the name "Maeby" at some point, and it reminded her of the word maybe. This word, to her, reflected her constant struggle with finding a fitting name for herself. She found herself sticking with the name, introducing herself as Maeby and asking to be referred to as such.
