That's what she's gotten everyone to believe...but on this specific day, she was far from innocent...

It was a Friday night..the air was warm and it seemed to be a bright, sunny day outside. Everything was supposed to be perfect. Promise prepared a picnic with all of her friends to celebrate a victory in the recent cake-baking competition they all participated in together, decorating the scene with flowers and lights for a great day! The prized cake (worth millions of dollars at this point) in the middle of the park for everyone to see. She even brought fireworks. However, she had other things on her mind that day, and the nice decorated party was only a distraction for her plans. No one would have suspected her, because she's put on the act of being the perfect, innocent angel that everyone loves...but today she shows her true colors. Everyone was gathering in to her trap, and the moment was coming closer. She played nice with her victims she called her "friends", giving them cookies and tiny sandwiches shaped like hearts. It was too soon to ruin her "surprise" yet... They all laughed and played, giving Promise the love and attention that she needed...all that was to be done was to set up the act. It was getting dark now, the beautiful lights were just turning on, revealing the magic of a perfect day, but then...it went black. Screaming, panicking, and crashes filled the park. No one knew what to do, and the time seemed to go by so slowly! The lights suddenly turned on after a gruesome and torturous 20 seconds, and among the mess of broken plates and decorations, there were two things missing in the scene of the crime. Promise, and the prized cake! Everyone gasped, and then a loud scream was heard from a distance belonging to a familiar voice. Promise! Everyone ran, tripping over the picnic disaster, and their own messes on themselves. With faces of shock, they all witnessed the young Kal in an animal trap net attached to a tree, the prized cake destroyed on the ground below her. Promise stared at her friends, teary-eyed and hot with embarrassment. "I knew it all along! Even when we were making the cake, I saw your mouth watering! How could you ruin such a perfect day, that YOU created with your uncontrollable sweet tooth!" A friend shouted at her with anger. Everyone was silent, and then all at once there was a roar of laughter across the entire park. They all worked together to free the frightened Promise, covered in her own tears of sadness, and now joy, and chowed down to enjoy and cake that was still worth eating...and it was delicious!

This story in itself shows the type of Kal Promise is...sneaky, clever, and manipulative, but for the silliest of reasons! She is innocent of any true crime and is super naive and childlike, making her innocent in many definitions! She's a sweetheart that only wants to make others laugh. She tends to play jokes on her friends, knowing they'd laugh and think of it all as good fun! She also has an uncontrollable sweet tooth, and will stop at nothing to chow down on any sweet treat in her view, even if it means being sneaky about it (something she is almost professional at, and loves)! Promise is truely an interesting Kal, with many quirks and odd things about her...but she won't spoil all of it! You're just going to have to get to know her to find out the rest... c;

Are they as innocent as they seem? ;; well, depends on what exactly you call, 'innocent.' but for the most part, yes. let's go over the various definitions of 'innocent' though, shall we? [ i hope this isn't considered an extra, because i am answering the prompt through these as well ^^ ]

not guilty of a crime or offense

from just renette's appearence, she may seem as sweet as a butterfly, having done no crimes or anything at all. that is pretty true. renette is kind, sweet, helpful, and much more, but still, she is quite sensitive. she has a fiery short temper, but renette knows how to control it very well. yes, she may threaten others and maybe go overboard, but she won't really have the guts to do what she claims to do. but still, renette has actually learned martial arts just in case, so be careful! if you hurt her or her friend's feelings, prepare to get chopped! [ not really though, she likes to threaten and taunt others just to make them scared. ] and so, if you're talking about this kind of innocent, then yes.

free from moral wrong; not corrupted

hmm... moral wrong.. moral wrong. some say she sounds and looks oblivious and naive, but she isn't dumb. renette is aware that this world isn't easy and full of joy, rainbows, and unicorns, like some people, but she still acts like it. why? she likes keeping a positive and optimistic attitude. renette is generally a happy kalon, and would never, in her life, do something that would go against her morals. she is a person who values loyalty like crazy, and gets extremely upset when she gets betrayed. and so, you will never, ever see renette become 'corrupted.'

but even still, she is 100% aware of all the bad things happening in life, like murders and thievery and much more. she isn't ashamed though. even though she is, in fact, free from moral wrong, she knows of it. if this is the type of 'innocent' you're talking about, then yes.

simple; naive

many people think renette was a kalon who was extremely naive, not knowing what was going on at times. the truth is, you're completely wrong. even though this may be hard to believe, renette may know even more than you. she isnt uneducated either. she is currently a college student, even though it may look like she was only in highschool. there's no way you can 'trick' her successfully. renette catches on almost immediately, so you really need to be smooth with your words in order to fool this girl. she puts on a much more 'innocent', cute, and naive facade, because, well, it's more fun. renette isn't fond of always acting so serious, even though she can be. she has always found it boring, being a know-it-all and so blunt. why not be happier by being carefree? and so this girl is anything but simple and naive. if you mean this type of 'innocent,' it's a definite no.

oh yes, yes, always!

she wasn't born with her light pastel green hair- she was previously a blond. and along with the 'dumb blonde' stereotype, many people thought she was clumsy and would trip and fall all the time, thinking renette only cared for pretty pastel colors. well, she surely did prove them wrong. renette rarely makes mistakes but when she does, oh she apologizes, alot, because they are often so rare. she is very precious, and tends to get emotional when she accidentally hurts someone else. there was never a time when renette intentionally sticks her foot out for someone to trip on or whatever. by her friends, she had always looked and was known for being kind and doing things not on purpose. very harmless, she is. if you don't get on her bad side, that is. once again, as previously mentioned before, renette isn't afraid to show off some martial arts move if you hurt her or her loved ones. of course, theyre only minor ones, and really, it's just some basic taunting, so nothing too serious. if this is what you call innocent, then all in all, yes.

so basically, to sum it all up, renette isn't always what she seems like on the outside. yes, she is very kind, caring, loyal, and really just a good kalon in general. but however, if you make just a single mistake that would upset her, she WILL become angry. renette is quite sensitive to many things, and often has a bad temper as well. but fortunately, renette knows how to control it very well. if something bad goes wrong, she'll basically hold a weapon and taunt and threaten them until they stop. even though no one has seen her actually physically hurt someone seriously before, they still get afraid. but the question is, is she naive? no. anything but that. renette is extremely educated, but tends to look and sound oblivious. but sometimes, if her friends aren't sure about something or have a question, renette tends to ramble on and on to answer their question, and also give them a mini school lesson. and she is also very hard to fool. so, gullible she may seem, but really the exact opposite.

It's hard to be, it really is. Most kalons like to believe she is not so, but she couldn't disagree more.

Have you ever heard of the term, "don't shoot the messenger?"

It's hard to be the bearer of bad news; most kalons take it out on her, as if she were the cause of their misfortune. But, again, she is just the messenger.

They call her the embodiment of pestilence itself, the kiss of death-- warning others not to trust her soft doe-y eyes and gentle demeanor-- for when she turns up at their doorstep, they die the following day. Of course, she did not kill these kalons-- all she's guilty of is doing her job. Those kalons already have their fates laid out for them; their life is to end very soon. She's just there to prepare them for this news, and ensure their souls get closure so they can make it to the other side.

However, the other kalons understand this not, and run her out of the town every time they see her. Sometimes armed, not even bothering to allow her to explain herself...

Nowadays, she chances not a run in with the town-- she operates in the stealth of the night now. Though, when one wakes up in the morning and find a bouquet of lovely pink roses on their doorstep... they know of their fate.

So, is she innocent? Maybe not. It's hard to maintain such an innocence when you live with the knowledge of knowing someone is to die-- someone with a family, someone with friends, with a future, career-- possibly, whole life in front of them, had it not been for the will of fate. But if there's one thing for certain,

She's guilty of no crime-- other than being a victim of circumstance.

My gosh no. On the outside they seem to be cute y'know. They have a sweet face, lovley colours. And just an overal kind and friendly smile. But she's none of those words used beforehand.

You know those people you call up when you want someone "terminated"? Well she's one of those guys. Not like she'd let anyone know her secret.
