We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. The aussie girl is smart, sly, and stealthy. She may have been a farm dog years ago, but it appears the farm has abandoned and left to learn the ways of the street dog. Which has been her way of life for longer than it should have ever been.

Personality: Maisie has always been a bit antisocial and reserved, although due to past events that have happened to her, she hardly trusts anyone anymore. These events have also caused her to be very protective of those she cares for, and very serious. She is fun-loving and affectionate, maybe even on the rare occasion playful towards those she cares for. Like there's a special place in her heart for them and it's far from easy to get access to it. "Outsiders" don't see it, because she's not publicly affectionate. Instead she is very private and it's hard to get her to share personal information about herself, doesn't matter if you are close with her or not. She's a bit rough around the edges with "outsiders" with a small exception. Maisie has this intense soft-spot for young offspring of any kind, and she's willing to do anything for them. It could be a puppy, a kitten, or even a foal or a calf. There is just this instant trust-connection with them, maybe a motherly instinct. That would be the only time she would be publicly affectionate. Now with this cold exterior with "outsiders", she is able to put aside her distrust to help someone, whether they are someone she is unfamiliar with or not. Although that doesn't mean she's gonna instantly befriend them either, and she only helps if they desperately need it. As well as the fact no one else is around to help them besides her. She just doesn't like "bullies" or seeing people get hurt... unless they deserved it. Another thing to note is that Maisie judges others by there appearance and has no filter on her mouth, she can more often than not seem cruel and rude towards others. Which is evident by the lack of friends and overwhelming amount of foes she has. All this talk about her may have her seem like she is talkative, but alas, 90% of the time she is dead quiet, and ignores everyone around her.

This large spitz belongs to an endangered breed, but that doesn't bother them at all, they are constantly hyper, happy and trying to get others to play with them. SCS staff has been both charmed by their floofy cuteness and exasperated by their overflowing energy - It might be time for them to go to a new owner who can keep up with them.

Personality: Stubborn, feisty, temperamental, hyper, demanding at times, a bit of a diva as well/ Lady keeps everyone on their toes. She is both hyper, always demanding exercise, and prissy, not liking to get dirty or get her paws wet. She has a diva streak, wanting what she wants when she wants it and not liking even the slightest change in her routine.
How will you keep them entertained?:
Well, Lady is difficult. She doesn't like mud, water, snow, or rain so a lot of outdoor activities have to be planned and carefully executed. She also doesn't like being cooped up inside, so rolling a ball across the living room floor is out. As for tricks, we think she thinks she is too important to give us her paw or roll over. So . . . we found a new way of keeping her entertained.
Tennis! It may sound odd, because she clearly can't hold a tennis racket or hit the ball over the net, but when we play tennis she likes to run back and forth, keeping her eyes on the ball, and if one of us misses it she is quick to fetch it for us.
The court is always dry, so no fear of water or mud, and there is plenty of space for her to run without feeling closed in. Playing tennis with her a few times a week seems to keep her energy at a manageable level and she seems happy with the arrangement.

Personality: Simone is a very hyper dog, he loves to play and play. Simone never slows down and hates when someone is a downer and doesn't want to play. He loves the move around and play with others. He really likes one of the cats in the house do to their personality almost being the same as his. He loves to be free and party. He is a party animal! He will always move around until he has the right spot. He is never really comfortable. He is so hyper that he is never in a good spot. He is a surprising dog when it comes to the not finding a good spot.
How will you keep them entertained?: Frisbee. Simone will be calmed down with frisbee. Since we have such a huge space on the farm it is the perfect place to play with the frisbee. He would also get the chance to play with the other dogs as well, so it would be easy for him to move around, and play with the others. He would get many chances to do this as well since it is almost never cold until winter anyway. So he will have a huge area to play and run around. It is easy to chase things, yet when in air then he gets way more energy taken away from him so he gets tried easier anyway.

Personality:

Shimmer is a highly energetic and wild spirited female, She tends to be adorably sweet and loves helping others, even if she's not sure how to. She's is highly friendly and extroverted but can come off as being a bit shy and introverted when making new friends, but as soon as she knows your name she'll be back to her normal self. This can lead her to be naive and too trusting of others, which can often leave her feeling betrayed. She loves to explore and to run and run and run. She's a little sweetheart but if she doesn't agree with what your saying she can be very stubborn and argumentative. The little misses can sometimes act like a spoilt little brat if she doesn't get what she wants.

How will you keep them entertained?:

Large spitz were originally used to be sled dogs, however Shimmer can't control her energy long enough for us to put her in a harness or go slow enough without tipping the sled. So we decided to try and train her to participate in agility and flyball events. So far Shimmer is showing a particular interest in agility. The young female loves to traverse the obstacles and especially loves jumping over the hurdles. However, her favourite part has to be the weaves. She seems to just skip through them and always does them with a fluffy, wagging tail.
