I want to thank everyone who entered. I spent my spring break reading these and I loved seeing everything that changed and expanded.
Before I say who won. I'd like to give credit to the person who almost did. John Laurens. I loved your concept. I chuckled every time I read it. The one thing that help you back I thing is the point of view you wrote it in. You wrote it in the first person after the event had taken place. I believe if it'd been in the third person and told as the event was taking place it would have given the opportunity to add more emotion and action into the who thing. This is only my opinion though and you don't have to take it.
Now, the winner is happysparrow. Out of them all, theirs was the only one that had the kit keep in contact with the parents. While the kit stayed with neither parent for a long time, they did write and send gifts totheir family.
