We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. A Rottweiler Lab Mix was found with a British Short hair over in an alley. The dog was super friendly and lead us to a small box with a cat in it. The cat had a paralyzed leg and severely infected eyes. They seemed to be hurting badly so we took action and quickly took it to our emergency room. We got fluids in her and quickly went to remove the eyes. We then waited til she recovered from surgery to remove the leg, as it also seemed to be causing pain. Poor dear has been through a lot but she loves her canine companion. She's kind of a sensitive cat, especially around her face, so it will be difficult to have her trust you with that and you'd need to be extra careful when bathing. The Rottie mix already has a loving home.

history
Emily was the runt of her litter; always lagging behind her siblings. It was rough on her as her family lived on the streets, and she couldn't keep up. Eventually they all left her due to they felt she wouldn't make it anyway. So she ventured around on her own hardly making it. One day a cruel kid found her in an alley way. Beginning to kick her and spray chemicals on her face. This happen for a couple days tell Gazelle came and found her suffering. She was picked up by her and taken to a save place. Gazelle would bring her food and water in her box. Tell she finally found a kind human that came to help Gazelle only at first. Tell she lead her straight to where Emily still laid suffering with infected eyes and a paralyzed front leg. They took them both in straight way so they could save Emily's life. It took a bit to rehabilitate her to be use to how she was now. Though Gazelle never left her side; tell she was adopted out and Emily was left there alone. For the days she was she whined wanting someone to be there to help her. One day a girl came in looking for a companion for on her farm. Once she saw Emily she knew that was who she came looking for. Now Emily lives her days as a house cat with many other animals around to help her.

Every second of the day she has some noise going on in the house. This makes her feel safe whether it is music, talking or the tv. Though she more prefers someone to be around to guide her, that isn't always an option and she knows that. Even more so she is given treats a lot and moist cat food.

When Emily's owner heard about her story she asked right away who had adopted her best friend. Once she was able to contact Gazelle's owner she started asking about planned play dates at her farm. Soon they hope to have one to make both of their animals very happy.

Though she is far from being elderly; she still needs all that care and love she can get. Always loving to get cuddles from her owner at anytime. She gets scared when there isn't anyone around her or any noise at all. Being gentle is what she prides herself on as she cares for the others. Though she can be very stubborn once she picks what she wants, she will do it.

Personality:
Maliah is a fighter in all definitions of the word. She fought to survive to the point of her rescue and she plans on fighting afterwards. Laying down and letting things happen to her just isn't something that she can do. She's stubborn and headstrong, and doesn't like to be told what to do. She is aggressive and ambitious and works to get what she wants. She doesn't like to wallow in self pity, and tends to hold contempt for those that do, after all, if she survived her ordeal shouldn't they be able to? If you have an actual problem, though, she will help you work towards your goal, because she likes to see others succeed as she does. Maliah is extroverted, but in the same stroke she does not trust easily and is very closed off about her personal life. She doesn't let her lack of eyes or her missing leg hold her back and encourages others to keep moving just like she does.

How will she be taken care of?:
Blind cats can manage rather well, but a few precautions must be followed to make sure they have the least amount of chance to injure themselves. To keep Maliha safe she will only go outdoors under supervision, her environment will be kept consistent and the floor clean of anything that can trip her up, and any potentially harmful drops will be blocked off. Not many considerations can be made for her leg, since an animal will naturally grow used to it's limitations over time. On top of that she will have a companion in the other SCS adopts I have under my care who can help keep an eye on her.
