True answered this well, but I wanted to add a little clarification myself.
We are currently not looking for any regular artists for the main thread, the reason behind this is that we are always in need of more nursery & hatchery staff as we had a large demand for that and not near as much demand for main thread artists. The current only way to become part of the main thread's artist staff is to first become a nursery artist and prove yourself there by doing so many batches & abandoned batches. With enough effort they are then promoted to being both nursery/hatchery staff & main thread staff. The current nursery artists that were promoted to main thread are Grifforik, Placebo & ~Trompy, who earned their rank into main thread. We have several nursery artists who are also permitted X amount of main thread adopts to be made on occasion as well (such as james, milo, true knight, yugi and a few others). So in short, the only way to become part of the main thread staff is to first become part of nursery staff and prove yourself as staff that way. c:
