like the other kalons of this batch, you can tackle this as a partner contest or a single person contest. any partnered forms will be judged against other partnered forms first. the forms from the winning partnership will then be compared to all the single forms for the kalon they're entered for. the users in the winning partnership are guaranteed to get either a RU or the main design itself, depending on how the individual forms compare against the non-partnered forms.

clarification: by partnered forms, i mean two or three people trying out for different kalons but linking their stories together! sorry if i wasn't clear before! ^^;

ᴛʜɪs ᴋᴀʟᴏɴ sᴇᴇᴋs ʀᴇᴠᴇɴɢᴇ- ᴡʜʏ?

He remembered the fires. The crackle of wood was still ringing in
his ears, along with the cries of helpless innocents. The taste of ash
still fresh on his tongue. He could still feel the boil of the flame's
heat as it slithered from one rooftop to another. Gale was young
when the war began, but he still remembered the devastation it
wrought. When Galadan soliders attacked the small village of Esro
in his home kingdom Arlasia they came with a vengeance. Men lit
torches to set houses ablaze, soldiers marched through the streets
showing no mercy, and he and his family fled for their lives.

They were lucky enough to escape the attack, but Gale lost many
friends and countless neighbors that day. He witnessed true injustice.
With no more home to return to he and his family moved to the
capitol city. When he was old enough, Gale enlisted into the royal
army in hopes of being on the front lines to protect and defend
the innocents, never wanting to bear witness to the tirade of
Galadan on his home lands again.

ʙᴏɴᴜs ᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴ: [899/900 words]


[ weapon details ]

His weapon of choice is that of an intricately crafted bow. It's wood furnishings are worn from use but still strong in build. It is adorned with gold finishing and wrapped with red grip padding on the handle. On either end of the bow are two long blades that he uses in times of close combat to slice enemies when arrows don't find their mark.

In the beginning stages of the Knight training, he was instantly drawn to archery. However, he also has knowledge of swordsmanship and usually carries long knives or daggers on his person alongside his trusted bow.

Engraved on the right hand gold finish is a signature mark from the blacksmith. It's content tells of Galadan craftsman ship, the kingdom for which he seeks revenge upon.

♕ Yvette A'dulain ♥ Crush


In an interesting turn of events, Gale had managed to find himself as the center of attention for the Crown Princess' affection. As heir apparent, she made it her duty to always welcome new recruits, and in a show of rather unprofessional manners Gale blurted out the very first thing he thought of when their eyes met: "I didn't think you'd be so pretty." Though his commander was horrified to say the least, it brought a melodious laughter from the Princess, and the two were smitten.

♖ Luka A'dulain ♦ Best Friend


Yvette's elder adopted brother Luka is also a member of the royal army, though he far outranks Gale due to his status as a Prince. Yet that never stopped Luka from interacting with him. The two hit it off, much like he did with the Princess. Luka became the person he sought out in times of trouble, and the Prince relied on Gale as a friend who saw beyond his social stature.

♙ Roxas Arakida ♠ Blacksmith of his Bow


It took a long time for Gale to track down the Galadan blacksmith of his bow, and what he found was not who he expected. He believed the entire kingdom to be one of hatred, cruelty, and distrust. Roxas fit none of those descriptions. Instead he was kind, reserved, and deathly loyal to those he held dear.

“Where are we going?” came an exasperated voice.

Yvette looked behind her at the knight she was practically dragging down the long grand hallway. “It’s a surprise.”

With a small smile and a slightly harsher tug, they turned a corner toward two large oak doors. The princess was dressed modestly for her position aside from the silver circlet hidden beneath long locks of hair. Gale, on the other hand, was adorned properly for his position as always. The knight, though not in full battle armor, still adorned a lighter chainmail with a blue tunic that had the Arlasian royal family crest patterned on the front. Yvette insisted that the weaponry the knight usually carried on his person be left behind in his chambers. Gale eventually gave in, but the princess didn’t need to know about the sharp blade hidden beneath the knight’s garments. He knew to always be prepared no matter how safe it may feel inside the palace walls.

Eventually, the pair made it to a small room in the corner of the palace, far enough away from the main bustle of servants where no one was bound to find them. As they stepped through the oak doors, Gale was immediately met with confusion that quickly turned to annoyance.

“No, absolutely not,” he said and gently pulled his arm from the princess’ hold.

Yvette stopped short when the weight she was dragging was suddenly gone. She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and sighed. “Gale, you’ve got to loosen up a little. You’re always on guard, always looking around for threats, always training. I know because I watch you too.”

She shuffled closer to the knight and laid a soft hand on Gale’s arm. Violet eyes looked sadly into the knight’s hetero-chromatic gaze. “You’re going to run yourself into the ground one of these days.”

“I know my limits.”

“That’s just it, I don’t think you do.” Yvette let go of his arm and walked into the middle of the room. “Just… think of it like training. My mother made me take dancing lessons when I was young because I couldn’t walk down the hallways without falling. Now, you can learn how to be lighter on your feet too. Come dance with me.”

Gale crossed his arms and cocked his head to the side. “Is that an order, Your Royal Highness?”

“No, it’s not.” Yvette held out a hand, beckoning the knight forward. “I am asking you to dance with me.”

Gale’s stern gaze stared between the offered hand and the opened doors. To be seen shirking his duties…

Yvette, however, cut off the thought. “No one will find us in here. I promise.”

After a few beats of silence the tension in Gale’s body evaporated. His shoulders fell from their upright posture and he seemed to melt under the weight of his position. With one last glance at the doorway he walked forward, taking the princess’ hand in one of his own and slipping the other around the girl’s waist. Yvette’s smile immediately brightened, and a small blush settled on her cheeks.

Gale smiled softly in return. “Shall we dance?”
