"They say the beast was wilder than any bramble or thicket."
"I heard he has killed thousands who trespass"
"I heard he changes colors, so one will never spot him"
"I guess we'll find out. The hunters are going tonight."
-Speaks telepathically through images and sounds
-Is considered 'god-like'
-Can be highly aggressive when faced with outsiders, not necessarily to kill them but...injury happens.
-Is protecting a young child who is not from the forest and acts as her father figure
-The child is unusual in how the plants wilt in her presence, but then flourish in her touch.
-She's not a real child but she died as one. Or so most believe. She's not entirely dead.
-The guardian plays music for her to lull her to sleep, soft violins, drums, soothing stuff.
-The Herd is dying
-The Herd consists of 5 beings: Bear, Snake, Crane, Deer, and Mouse who are led by the Deer.
-The Deer is the wisest as he's live the longest than all the constellations combined. They have names though that the human calls them. Nim (Deer), Mara (Snake), Jubli (Mouse), Gouran (Bear) and Hokun (Crane)
-They are forgotten constellations who tell the Guardian where the forest is in danger. Also super cosmic powers.
-But because they are dying the forest is too
-However they have a plan to bring a new constellation/God to the world who is slumbering deep in the forest. They cannot find her however as she was hidden well by Snake and instead have asked the Guardian to do so.
The Guardian holds a small piece of the forest on his back, a gift from Nim. It is said to be a forest of knowledge. If one were to have the ripened fruit that grows on his back, it would show more than the world or so the legend states.

"It's winter in the valley and still Akan will not let me go to the village. It is not for fear of cold I know, he can see I care not of that. I am warmer than any of them will ever be even in the mountains as long as Nims sees it. Still akan is wary of the humans. Worse in winter the pale sun burns his coat freezing and he is far more irritable than the summer months and spring. I would craft him a coat but....I doubt he'd appreciate animal hides to do so.
My biggest worry however is how thin he is. He walks with a limp, his burly hide shaking on some mornings as his branches shake with frost. I can see even the Great protector needs rest. He curls up like a lion cub to me in the morning and it is hard to rouse him from slumber as his autumn pelt changes once more. The fur on his face is soft and cold against my side and it is hard to feel warmth from him. But I know he will be fine.
He is merely tired. Hibernation has already begun, but for him. His rest lies with that of the bears and squirrels. I am thinking to making him a blanket. Perhaps Mara's skin will make a fine one. Though that snake is hard to find herself, her cave should not be too far from the lake.
Something like mount's tunic, the kind that those strange humans use. Hehe. Akan would be so offended of being a mount."
