I’ve been hoping you’d return to me from whichever land you wandered to
I built an empire for you

“Look at this rowdy child! We shouldn’t have had her to begin with.”
“So? It was an accident. I too only wanted a quiet life in Uyaepitor. We should have left the Vekar Empire years ago.”


“Where are you going?”
They didn’t say a word.
But - it was not strange for children to be left in the Vekar Empire.
After all, the Vekar Empire was one of the most dangerous kingdoms.
“Everyone wants power. Your parents will return if you have it.”
I was quick to believe, to latch onto hope.
So I took power the only way I knew how to.


Many people hated me and feared me once I had gained power. And I paid.
But I didn’t care.
To me, it was something I had to do.
(I built an arm with one and used magic to connect it to my body)
I now had power. I called out to my parents…. [Do you want it now?]
They didn’t want it.


I waited for them. But I was not strong enough.
I began to take in lost animals to fill the void in my heart.
(At times, they feared me.) ***
It feels like a rebellion. (but a good one, so unlike that snake’s and I)
People judged me. “What is this violent, unconventional kalon doing?”
(Some days, I felt like I could hear their thoughts.)
*** = Disclaimer. They did not fear her because she was an animal abuser - she cares for her animals well enough - but because of her dangerous track record as a quasi-dictator.


- Look! The Towering Mountains that the Vekar Empire sits at the base of...
Beyond them, the Kingdom That Has Been Lost for a thousand years ---
