story: 700 words

Amaryllis shot up from a deep slumber, causing the viscet next to her to follow in motion. Her heart was beating hard against her ribcage as she gulped air in an attempt to find her breath.

"Amaryllis." The other viscet spoke her name with clear concern. "What is it?"

The female rubbed her own paws as she paced wide circles around the dark cave. Shaking her head vigorously, Amaryllis released a small whimper. "Something's happened, Ugin. Something isn't right. I need to go." She ceased her pacing in order to look him in the eyes. "I must go to him — to Azrael."

Ugin's eyes lowered to avert from hers, a creeping melancholia bubbling its way up from his gut and into his esophagus. His voice would not come to him no matter what he did. Opening his maw seemed to be an arduous task on its own at that moment. He knew what had happened, just the same as she did for he felt it as well. Speaking would make it real, however, and his throat just would not release its tight grip on all of the words he wished he could say.

"Ugin, please. I beg of you. Take me to him." Her eyes, which normally held the entirety of the universe and all of its secrets, were now cracked and flecked from the distress she was in. Crystal clear, but full of complete anguish.

After sucking in a large exhale to regain his voice, Ugin took her paw in his. "I promise you, my darling — I promise that you will not like what you see." He knew that trying to talk her out of it wouldn't do an ounce of good, but he would do anything to try to spare his beloved anymore pain. He needed to protect her pure heart from any and all corruption, but where they were about to go — he started to lose all hope for her.

Amaryllis nodded at him once he looked back up at her and he could do nothing more than nod back. She was determined to get to Azrael, and she would get to him even if she had to travel herself by foot. Her heart started to race, however, when Ugin began to chant the familiar words. All at once, her entire world went black, the only comfort was the pressure of his paw still around hers. Just as quickly as everything disappeared, they were welcomed by a whole new scene.

Ugin's eyes focused hard on the viscets only several yards away from them. Amaryllis gasped when she saw the dark red viscet along with Azrael who was kneeling before him. She could feel her heart breaking, but it didn't stop her from sprinting full speed toward them. "Tyramet!" She screamed his name without any reserve, and he did nothing except flash her a toothy grin before disappearing into thin air. She swiped at the air, jaw snapping violently as she did so, but it was no use. Her mind was turning and churning a million miles a minute with all the words she wanted to say but she remained quiet until she could find a moment of calm in the middle of this metaphorical storm. She didn't want to say anything that she would regret.

"Azrael." Her voice cracked as she spoke his name. "My brother... Why?" Her legs could no longer hold the weight of the world crashing down on her shoulders, and she fell to her knees along with Azrael. She finally looked at him — into his eyes — and Ugin was precisely right.

She did not like what she saw.

But that didn't stop her from reaching out and holding him in a tight embrace. "Don't speak." She whispered lowly, glancing back at the godly viscet watching them from afar. "Whatever reason it was, you are still my brother."

She was very aware that this new allegiance to the King of the Underworld made them sworn enemies, as she was an angel of Ugin and he was now a demon of Tyramet, but she would always be there for him no matter what.

"If you need me, you always know where to find me, Azrael."

Looking into his eyes as she spoke to him was pure agony. Any time she would pause to sneak a quick inhale, it barely felt like any oxygen was entering her lungs at all. Her heart seemed to stop beating — she was tempted to reach up in order to press her paw to her chest just to check. Her blood felt like razor sharp pins traveling through her veins.

"Ugin?" She said his name in a half-whisper. He didn't respond with the spoken word, but his eyes said more than words ever could. "I have to follow my own path, Ugin. I will never betray you or the faith, but I can no longer follow as your mate." Her teeth threatened to chatter from the anxiety rushing through her. She was terrified. Not of him, but rather because of the situation itself. She didn't think he would banish her from the angelic position she held; that wasn't her concern. The last thing she ever wanted to do was hurt him, yet here she was...

All that was left to do was literally tear his heart from his chest and she'd be finished ruining him. All of the promises and vows she ever made to him were shattered into a million pieces at their feet, and even though he mentioned nothing of the sort, she knew he was thinking about all of it.

After a few more moments of awkward silence, Amaryllis took a few steps toward the cave-mouth of their shared home. "Should I go?" She asked the question with a terrible hesitation.

"Yes, Amaryllis. It would be for the best."

She nodded sternly, "You know I'll always be there if you need a friend, Ugin."

The female took her leave without a single word more.

Story; Okay, so my story starts from a viscet called Dino, (Nickname for Dynasty) Now we first met in school and BOY do I wish I didn't EVER meet him. The next day, he started getting me in trouble, for the things HE did! He would break things, wrote things on the walls like a little kid, tell the PRINCIPLE that I did things I never did, and soo much more, but it didn't just end there! After when school would end he would play over the top pranks, make graffiti on places that didn't allow it and blame it on me, and he would also tease me and beat me up. So one day I decided on getting revenge on him, by putting a bunch of jellyfish in a pool and letting him get zapped, don't worry though he made it out alive, barely. But that wasn't enough I did a looot more pranks, some were worse, some were minor, and other times it was just beautiful tasty paybacks! Though I didn't only do pranks, I did other things too. There's two things that came out of my revenge, one being that he became scarred of me, stopped everything he did and I forced him to tell the truth to everyone. Two, is that now if someone does something to me I'll get revenge and also I love revenge more then I ever did, though I'm still nice, but I'm warning you BE CAREFUL OR ELSE I'LL- I suppose I should tell you what a good example of an other great revenge I did yesterday.... So there's this human, if you could even call her that. Named Shackleton, now she's a teacher for kids but wants EVERYTHING to say Miss Shackleton, though I've lost respect for her sooo yeah. ANYWAYS She makes kids SUFFER by smacking them in the mouth if they do something quote on quote "She doesn't like or think if it's not necessary.", makes them pee themselves on Fridays, scream YOU'RE ALL WORTHLESS CHILDREN if she's mad and other things that are just crazy. So I but her in a bag while she's sleeping, tie it up, shoved her in the car, and I rolled down the window so I could jump out, but I as a did she had apparently escaped the bag and grabbed her gun... So I jumped out and ran away and she chased after me, so I run behind a tree and trip her in a lake, where crocodiles were sleeping and ran home as fast as possible. Oh and by the way I had to sit closest to the edge and slouch down so I could drive the car, and I had to hold on to the steering wheel even without having thumbs and believe me it wasn't easy at all! That and it was a possibility that I could of died as well as Shackleton obviously..... And I didn't want to die or her because no-one deserves to die so yeah SOMETIMES THOUGH BECAUSE IN THIS WORLD IT'S- Sorry had a laps..... So here's a lesson for ALL of you, if YOU don't want to see my wrath or do anything to make me angered, don't mess with me, test me, or do anything that is bad or be Donald Trump and you'll see the nice me and everything will be happy like sunshine and rainbows because I CAN be the worst thing you've EVER seen the only other thing that is worse then me is Satan himself, but other than that I'm LITERALLY THE WORST THING TO EVER LIVE ON THIS EARTH SO WATCH OUT! Also, yes, I have attacked and killed other viscets, animals, and humans and I HAVE PROOF because if you were to shave my mane off it would be full of scars that I have on my neck from only few of the battles I've been in. I can do anything and be everything you're afraid of and a lot of pack leaders from viscets and WOLVES are afraid of me because I'm that mean and cold if I have to or want to so take my warnings seriously! 700 words

alright, this is closed... I have been reading over the forums so judging shouldn't take very long but also.... I have been reading the forums and have perhaps one of the toughest choices ahead of me... Oh man.... this...this was hard.
(I have literally read and re-read this several times and am just going to close my eyes and hit submit. Never before have I seen such an intense competition for a viscet (not including legendaries because those get crazy))

First and foremost thank you to Grifforik for your opinions on the forums. It helped me take another view of things and work out how to pick someone! I really appreciate it and I am sorry for dragging you into such an intense competiton

Second, there will be two runner ups. These will be in the forms of breedings, which I will explain after I announce them...

Now........ I don't know who to start with, so I will go in order of posting...

Silversamurai, your forum was amazing and very intriguing. I loved the idea you had and the story you were building around the character. It made me wonder more about who they were, what was happening, and what was next and really kept me on my toes. The art you made was beautiful as well and I enjoyed it very much. Your song fit perfectly into it and I really enjoyed the aura it gave to the story.

Howlingtothestars, your forum was very well written and the story was quite capturing. I was on my toes the entire time and am still wondering what is within that egg and why he would risk his life over it. I enjoyed the story and how the art, which was beautiful by the way, fit in with it and added to the feel. I am still curious of how the characters journey ends and how that "mysterious" viscet *cough*Akuro plays into it. Your song took a bit of thought, but after sometime I realized how it clicked and felt a little slow, haha.

James., your story was fascinating and it genuinely made me feel for her as she lost her brother to evil. Despite no room for a backstory or to explain anything about them, you still made me feel for her loss of her brother without knowing anything about their past relationship. Your art was beautiful and helped to capture the aura of what has happened very well, and your song fit the story perfectly.

Now for the final moment.....and oh how I hate it.... the three of you did such an amazing job, I wish I could clone this viscet and give it to each of you....but.... I cannot, and so... the winner...

I hadn't planned on this, but I never planned on a competition being so hard to judge.... but I am eager to offer this to silversamurai and james.!
Your guys' forums were really, really amazing and honestly this competition was a three way tie with only a sliver of a hair between you guys. I want to offer you two runner ups, but since I cannot make any they will be in the form of a breeding.
You can pick one parent with one of my or your viscets, or you can pick the pairing which was used for this viscet to breed a similar kid. I would also love to offer to buy the potions for you two! I do not have much C$, though, so I only ask that there are no extreme potions like five pen diagrams for rare mutations or something. If you want to accept this just send me a message!! I am able to post one breeding this month and next month is scotch free so I can give you two your children ASAP!! (who gets it first will basically go by who pms me first/is available first (if you are using one of your own viscets in the breeding)) Now, I do not know if this will count towards any limits or not since I see it both ways, a gift but also a runner up, so if you do not want to accept for that reason then I would understand.
