for a kalon i’ve yet to know?
but i know your name,
you know mine.
(oh, lord, this doesn’t rhyme)
every week i see you once,
see the twinkle in your eyes,
hear the softness in your voice.
(i hate to say goodbye)

and yet here i am,

Love has many forms, most incompetent, dependent on attention.
Yours is silent, underneath the cracks.
It's not something that needs constant escalation or accession.
But it's there, a silent pact.

You are idiotic, your paws fumbling throughout the world.
Touching, questions, not wanting to ask.
They lay on my stuff, knowing my distastes half curled.
Still they stay there triumphant in their task.

I feel the affection, lingering in your challenging stare.
Provoking, teasing, being witness to my every mistake.
