Story of Love

I wrote my name upon a cloud,
with a message there for you.

My love was written in the sand,
full of honesty and truth.

I saw your name up in the stars,
a sign that we could start anew.

But then the wind blew,
and took my name away.

The story that I wrote,
of love so bright and true,

Was washed away by the waves
of darkness and despair.

And the dawn that make things new,
brushed away the hope I had of me and you.

So the next time I love,
and the love I have is true,

I’ll write my name on paper,
the message still shining for you.

I’ll carve my love into our tree,
so that it only grows with time.

I’ll watch the stars with you,
the ones that shine so bright in skies of blue.

The story of my love will stay,
and with it so will you.

Oh how I struggle as I watch you talk
Admiring you from afar, with your fancy walk
I wish I was by your side
But alas, our friendship is spread out too wide

Some say it's obvious and cute
When I blush embarrassed as you give another admirer the good ol' boot
So to try to win over your heart,
I shall sing to you with a harp!

Just kidding I can't play
I couldn't even mold a heart made of clay
But what I can do is write this love note
And watch as you read it and my heart fills with hope

That someday you will discover that all these years
It was me, who has been admiring you with a tiny hint of fear
Of you maybe rejecting me
So leave me be

And please, dear,
Don't you look at me and leer
Let me live my fantasy life
And imagine you as my wife
