As you explore the cluttered, homely apartment, you find yourself itching to be nosey. The kalon who lives in this old apartment rarely has visitors, and thus all his secrets are out in the open. Lucky you. You make your way around the large open-room apartment, glancing at notes on the walls and abstract trinkets, until you make your way to the small trash bin near the kalon's desk.
Inside, you find a crumpled up letter in cursive scrawl that reads:


Dearest Valerie,


To a kalon i hold dear in my heart,

My heart jumps at the thought of


Valerie,

At the thought of your smile,
I find my heart fluttering &

Dare i ask of you your company,
I fear you may turn your head in distaste, yet,

On occasion you flash a smile that,
I cannot help but be encouraged by.

Nevertheless I see how you treat others the same,
I realize that i am nothing special &

Even the tightest hug is only friendly;
I find myself discouraged beyond belief, yet,

The thought of your affections still shrouds my thoughts;
I keep hold of my hope, even if it is barely by a thread.
