So I'm not so great with words
'n we don't talk an awful lot
But I heard a little bird say
that you were pretty hot.

That sounds really superficial
now it's ink upon a page
But your beauty was the marshal
that shut my heart up in love's cage.

With eyes the size of spinner's plates
my heartbeat a bongo drum
I hide behind these words and wait
for feeling's death to come.

Cuz nothing lasts forever
'specially in my life
Being breezy as the weather
has brought me so much strife.

Soon love will leave and so will I
but I'm leaving this for you
To remind us both that in days gone by
I had a love that's true.
