"Idun, my child come to me" a voice harmonized through her ears. The petite doe stirred from her sleep under the tree hearing the voice call to her. Another god has come close to falling and requires her ability; her magic touch of harvest. She turned to the towering nature before her, the sun peaked through the emerald leaves and illuminated the beads around her antlers. The wooden growths began to glow faintly as she stepped closer, her nose inches from the centuries old bark. Her antlers now shined with the sun as she pushed her forehead to the bark, the tree's cracks illuminating with hers. A single golden apple fall behind her with a thud, the tall meadow grass almost engulfing it.
Her now faded antlers cradled the fruit of life as she treks to god of the lake, his dying song growing stronger as she approached. The waters parted as she stepped, leading her to the aged and fading light force of the entity. The dull shine lifted the apple from her antlers and swallowed it whole. The watery walls began to shake around her until they collapsed, the liquid grabbed her and thrust her through it's wake, slowing as it lifted her to the surface and plopped her onto the dirt. With shock written across her face Idun turned to the water, seeing it wave as it receded into pristine stillness.
It took only an hour to journey back to her home; the youth tree. No gods or goddesses had called to her in years, their life forces rarely become weakened. She welcomed the trip, it warmed her lonely heart. It was not often strangers wandered into the realm of the gods. The tips of the olive leaves emerged in the near distance and Idun quickened her pace. Her beautiful tree came into view, with a surprise she had never seen in all her life. A single, shamrock green apple was at her hooves, the impossible! the tree of youth could only be harvested by the power stored in her antlers, that and all apples start green and ripen to their true colors.
Her broken sky eyes scanned her surroundings, no eternal creature in sight. She carefully sniffed the apple, the smell was crisp with a hint of sourness. She placed it carefully on her tail and reclaimed her curled up spot under the tree. The mysterious fallen fruit her new companion in the loneliness of the realm of gods.
