apollo, or dancer, as he much prefers to be called,
came from simple beginnings.
he spent the beginning of his childhood in an
orphanage, hiding his extra set of eyes
not out of shame or fashion choice, but rather out of
an impending dread he couldn't name. something told
him to hide them -- something told him it was the best
thing he could do.
he was a very happy kid; playful and creative, always
drawing or painting or singing or laughing.
however, all that changed one rainy afternoon, when
a priest got word of his extra set of eyes. it all happened
so fast for apollo, one minute he was with his friends, and
the next he was wisped away into a completely different world
of religion and worship which was all centered on him.
he was raised in a life of luxury; everything he could ever
want was at his paws. everything, of course, except for
the normal life of a kid. through all the gold and prayers,
all the blessings and miracles, all he really wanted was
to play tag. all he really wanted was friendship and a
childhood.
but, that wasn't his place. his role in this city, this country,
was to be praised and perform the work of a god. people
would travel miles upon miles for him to lay a paw atop
their head and whisper a few nice words -- "blessings"
as they called it, were always rather repetitive and boring
for dancer. he liked making people happy, but despite all
the churches and scripture and prayers telling him otherwise,
he knew, deep down, he didn't want this.
he was no god in his own four eyes.
he grew distant with age, barely speaking and barely smiling.
this newfound mutism didn't help him as he'd anticipated; but rather,
now when he said anything, it was written down and praised and
celebrated. he grew to hate his people.
So, he fled. On a dark, rainy night, he decided to take his life into
his own hands and run far from those who worship him, far from
gold and riches and into the cruel arms of the world. he travels now,
keeping low and trying to find somewhere he feels he belongs.
dancer has always been incredibly curious and interested
in even the simplist of things. he loves learning new knowledge
and adores exploring the world on his own.
now that he's left his previous life, he feels much more
free than he once had. now he can explore whatever he wants
to, with no limitations besides the ones of the world.
his upbringing came with some unfortunate traits, however.
he has a bad habit of feeling superior than others, narcissism
gets the better of him often and he may appear rude when he
truly doesn't mean to be.
he's at awe with everything around him. being raised as a
god also came with the limitation of being sheltered from
nearly all of the world -- feeling the rain on his fur that night
when he left was fantastic and incredibly freeing. he gets to
experience the world anew; to investigate like the child he never
got to be and to become whoever he wishes. he's always
optimistic, always willing to try something once. however,
this means he doesn't have a very good grasp on what could
hurt him, or right versus wrong, which gets him in trouble
occasionally.
song: saltkin by purity ring
zodiac: virgo
likes: painting, drawing, singing, rain, thunder storms, music, night time, cigarette smoke, grunge aesthetic, bandages, stationery, stuffed animals, rocks, medicine bottles
dislikes: sudden loud noises, being praised, religion, anger, cameras, the smell of cooking meats
other: he's a vegetarian, he collects rocks and med bottles, he's never taken pills or any medicine of the sort because he grew up in a country that cherishes natural remedies, he is intrigued by "mysterious" people and loves foggy, gloomy days.
art: the drawing is based off of stained glass, such as in churches, depecting deities and gods. it's supposed to look "messy" or "rushed" as it ties in with his story. the left side of his face is blocked by black shards, each depecting tiny eyes as a representation of his own eye mutation and how he's "all seeing" due to it.
Monopoly suffers from a Multi-Personality Dissorder:
Personality 1:
In this state, Monopoly is bubbly, energetic, and
playful. He loves his sister and older brother deeply,
and is open minded to all of them. Monopoly loves
history, or past events, which enhances his curiosity
to the fullest. Although at times Monopoly can seem
clueless, or innocent, his IQ is extremely high. In
any situation he is determined to complete the
assignment or quickly adapt to make sure something
is done. With all of this combined, he is the protagonist
of his siblings, always looking for the good. But
sometimes can be annoying to others around him.
Monopoly's dissorder can change at any given moment,
and can last for a couple seconds, to a day.
Personality 2:
As Monopoly shifts into his second personality, he can
seem dark, and distant. He usually puts an emotionless
expression, enduced in his own thoughts. At times of
this personality side, he "re-lives" WWI. When memories
of WWI come to mind, he becomes depressed, and
has a hard time making up decions during this time
period. Although he was not born in WWI, the information
that he has learned about that time, influences his
memories, so Monopoly thinks he lived in that era. In
his 'memory' he believes his family was eliminated by
a Nazi bomb (at this time he thinks he is an orphan).
Depending on how serious he gets about a situation, he
at time can act like a psychopath.
The Art Style:
This is my sister's style. I really like it
But I'm never drawing her style digitally again.
I find her art style to be very hard to copy,
And I like my art to be very smooth. My sister on the other hand,
Is very sketchy, I really, really have a hard time with
Sketchy.
