Unconditional love is strived for
by a number of individuals around
the world. Fortunately, this gal
has already found it; however, in
a rather peculiar place. Ivy has a
love for nature and all the
creatures whom call it home.
Rare is the occasion in which she
complains about the weather or
being outside in general. From
the sound of birds singing their love
songs in the spring, to the cold
sensation of frostbite nipping at her
ears in winter, Ivy finds appreciation
in everything associated in nature.
As much as she loves nature and
being in it, it seems as though it
does not love her back because Ivy
is commonly seen sniffling and
sneezing from allergies. Despite
knowing that a break is sometimes
needed,her challenging self will try
to battle through her symptoms
and stay outside just for a little bit
longer. Her determination can alsobe found in the form of getting whatever it is that she desires. Once Ivy has set her sights on something, nine times out of ten she will stop at nothing to get it. Overall, the positive influence of being surrounded by nature has definitely shaped her into the desert she is today; kind, loyal, adventurous, determined, and a little sniffly.

Deer Name;; Selvani

Art/Writing;; Dainty isn't just an adjective, it's a way of life. Selvani is a gentle creature with a soft heart. Every step she takes is calculated and light, making sure to cause as little a disturbance as possible. She takes life at her own pace, wandering lush forests and silently observing nature take its course. She can often be found peacefully sitting around a watering hole
watching creatures of all kinds as they get a drink and socialize with each other. Selvani finds herself content with being an outside observer, and though it doesn't really seem to get her many friends, it lets her see things and have experiences that many others never get to go through in their lifetimes. She can be a bit awkward and off-putting while talking to others of her species, and much prefers the company of animals. Nature fascinates her, and she tries to see every side of it just as beautiful as the others.
Selvani is a pacifist, believing all problems can be talked out. That doesn't mean that she doesn't get frustrated when talking out issues, though, and her words can be biting. If she gets too frustrated, she'll simply walk off for time alone to cool down and level her thoughts. While she doesn't get along so well with others of her species, she dreams of romance, and is a sucker for mushy stories about finding true love. Old fairy tales and fables are near and dear to her; she's asked to hear them so much that she's memorized many, becoming almost an encyclopedia of her favorite fairy tales. Her dream is to reach true tranquility, having a little grotto of her own that's a safe space for animals of all sorts, a place where she can calmly watch visiting species and add them to her growing list of known creatures.
One of Selvani's most prized possessions is her sketchbook, which she found as a child at an abandoned campsite. While her drawings aren't that great, she's taken to cataloging every species she finds. It's very rare for her to let others see her drawings, as she's very self-conscious about them and knows she doesn't have much talent when it comes to drawing. Still, she keeps it and flips through the pages when she's bored, reminiscing about the times when she drew each of them. To her, it's like a little memory book, and she doesn't expect others to understand why it holds so much meaning to her. Occasionally there will be drawings of other deersert in her sketchbook; drawings of her friends and family to bring about warm fuzzy feelings when she's feeling lonesome.
While she doesn't much believe in superstition, Selvani is very knowledgeable when it comes to aromatherapy. Oftentimes she will put different flowers into her horn adornment, and her home is full of different smelling plants all over the walls and even hanging from the ceiling. She has a plant for just about every mood, and takes great pride in her apple-smelling coat, which is said to counter fatigue. While her floral cocktail is a bit much for others, she enjoys coming home to a wide array of smells that put her mind at ease.
Modern construction and human interference with wildlife frustrates Selvani to no end, and while it's much too common for her to make an impact, she hopes to spread some sort of awareness through flashy appearances. She is highly aware of humans' superstitions and beliefs surrounding her species, and hopes that by making appearances she can stir some wonder in people's hearts.

The wind howled that night in a fury that bordered on madness. The heavily pregnant doe had separated from the herd hours before, determined to find solitude in this most sacred of hours. Now rain lashed through the trees of the forest, and the doe's heartbeat spiked erratically as she felt her contractions quicken. Shelter was paramount. She cried with desperation into the night. --- Here --- a tweak on her consciousness. The doe was led into a grove where a enormous red cedar raised it's skeletal branches to the sky, and she stumbled into an opening at it's roots - the hollow trunk as snug and secure as any cave. The birth was quick but her fawn was too still. Frantically she nuzzled at the tiny body. 'Please' - a mother's love, the strongest of prayers. She felt the strength of the forest pouring it's lifeforce into her child --- Everything has a price ---
That winter tested the limits of the herd's survival. Many elders had perished before their time, and many hinds had found themselves suddenly without their young. Her strange, quiet, misunderstood fawn had not exactly flourished but stubbornly held onto life. It was worrying enough that she barely left her side, and shied away from the rest of the herd, crying out in fear and anger when another stepped too close. The doe knew matters would only worsen - heartbroken females would find ways to torment her child if she wasn't vigilant, hating her for being different and hating her for existing when so many had not. That her child was considered flawed also meant by default that she was flawed and the doe knew she would not be matriarch much longer. For the moment, however, she ruled and when the time came for betrayal she would cope with the ramifications.
The doe tracked her gangling youth through the forest, trotting faster as she scented blood. She found her in the grove of her birth, leaning against the cedar. "Mother" her monotone voice commented at odds with the trembling of her slight frame. "Oh, my daughter," the doe moaned sadly, noticing the deep cut in her leg. "Stop" her daughter whispered,"you're making it worse". The doe leashed her emotions. Her young had not only become more reclusive and eccentric over time but also ethereally beautiful and the herd tormented her relentlessly. Yet they were reluctant to kick the duo out, after discovering her young had the ability to leach negative emotions. They used her relentlessly, uncaring that they did her harm. Three years the doe had remained with her daughter, instinctively knowing she needed extra care. "We must leave" the doe decided. Sadly, the wild would pose less danger then the viciousness of her herd.
"I'm fine" the doe said to her mother. "You've taught me what I need. I want to be alone. You are hurting me with your thoughts. I can feel your restlessness. I need peace. I need quiet" Her mother could not stop a quick burst of hurt of escaping and the doe winced. "You will eat?" she asked. "I will eat". "You will sleep?", "I will sleep". "You will remain vigilant?" The doe stamped her hoof and bleated angrily. Her mother laughed joyously and then sobered. "You are extraordinary my child. Be safe". She had done all she could to ensure her daughter would live and flourish. She could do no more. Her instincts demanded that she return to a herd and she finally responded, no longer being able to cope with the solitude her daughter thrived on. The further she travelled, the less tense the doe became. "Finally" she whispered. "I'm free".
