Another question, what is looked for in nursery artists?

That's hard to say.
I'd personally recommend being able to blend the patents designs, but still create something new.
Being able to make clean lines for edits.
And being able to understand color theory and how to pick apart palettes and combine colors in a way that's pleasing to the eye.

Does anybody have any idea when they would let us do poly breedings? I decided that I'd love to do Silas, Tea and Phoenix all together when I get the chance/am allowed to.
