What are Khimaira Friesians?
Khimaira Friesians are a "normal" friesian breed with all characteristics of a friesian and a average height from 15 to 17 hands, but even 18 hands can occur. The first born Khimaira was mistaked for a chimera horse. But a genetic test showed otherwise, there wasn't a second DNA but a complete new and unknown gen. Because this gen makes the friesian look like a chimera it was named khimaira. khimaira doesn't produce a complete new dna coat and therefor it can only lighten or darken the base coat of the horse. Till now only the paint khimaira is known that makes the khimaira coloration looks like tobiano, overo, sabino or splash. But we believe that there will be more khimaira variations out there and we still try to breed them. Appaloosas are not known till now, but we have some great friesian mixed horses with appaloosa patterns, so we are sure to deliver them to you in a short amount of time.

Story: Sparrow got cancer when she was very young that unfortunately spread to her eyes. Though when she was cured she could still see shapes. But many things spooked her and her blindness would always get worse. So her owners decided it would be better to completely blind her surgically, but before they did, her owners were very devoted to keeping her safe. She was weaned, at 8 months old. Her owners made her, her own pasture with a connected box stall that was completely custom for her. Bark was layed 5 feet around every obstacle in the pasture. 5 foot circles around trees, bark was 5 feet to the fences and anything she could run into. Then Sparrow introduced to a buddy mare, a hyrulian gypsy, named Escapade, who helped her become desensitized to everything in her pasture and stall. She was brought around her pasture and was aloud to feel all the objects in her pasture. She quickly learned that when her feet hit bark that there was an object close to her and it gave her time to move away or slow down. She is now able to run freely through her pasture without injury. Sparrow will never be ridden out on trails without her buddy mare, but she is, however, a great broodmare.

Ironically, Fiera was blinded by a fire when she was a young foal. It was a hot, dry summer, and, some way or another, a heap of hay next to the barn caught fire. By the time the stablehands realized there was a fire, it had already spread to the barn. They managed to get all the horses out, but some were affected by the smoke and flames. Fiera, in the very back of the barn and quite near the fire, got the worst of it. She was permanently blinded. For a time, Fiera was wild with terror and confusion. Her once-easygoing nature was turned fearful and untrusting. Until Tavári showed up. A young, playful foal - with an absolutely burning curiosity. When Fiera came to Edge of Eternity Stables, Tavári was instantly curious about this crazed, unseeing mare. Despite warnings to stay away from the frenzied mare, Tavári couldn't help herself. She kept slipping through the pasture fence and going over to Fiera's paddock. At first, Fiera took no interest in the small, high voice that was constantly piping at her from over the invisible fence, but as time went on, she, too, grew a bit curious. She starting talking with the filly, and they quickly became the best of friends. Over time, the filly's influence mellowed Fiera back out, and soon she was back to her old self - with an added hint of curiosity and liveliness, thanks to Tavári.
