backstory of how you found them: i was
walking through a humid forest, it was very quiet
and beautiful. the trees had many green colorings
and smelled like sweet pine trees, the grass was
choppy. there were many stones, every now and
then i would smash open a hollow rock to find clear
quartz. after 30 minutes of walking through the forest
i found a 9 inch tall hollow rock, i smashed it into little
bits. the noise attracted aidan whom was curious about
the loud commosion. he wanted to come out and have
a better look at what i was doing but he hid behind a tree
trunk. the quartz from inside the rock glimmered, it was
very beautiful, aidan wasn't used to seeing something so
beautiful among the forest floor. the tree covered the plants
below them causing them to die because of the lack of sunlight.
he decided to walk out, as he walked out he walked with his
tail raised. he stared at the quartz, i decided to give it to him
and he took it quickly and then ran behind a rock. i began to
pull my lunch out of my bag, aidan noticed immediately and
scurried over to my bag, i asked if he wanted an apple slice.
he nodded and i gave it to him. after finishing my lunch i had
to go back home. aidan looked sorta sad seeing me go so i put
him on my shoulder and walked home. he jumped off several
times and walked by my side, he seemed to have put the puzzle
pieces together and realized he was going home with me. he was
content with going home with me rather than staying in the forest

backstory of how you found them: Oftentimes, the thing you're looking for is not at all what you find, and you realize that you were looking for it all along. I had set off into the woods in what was going to be yet another fruitless search for some scientific evidence of these creatures. I had seen one, I had even touched one, but there was no substantial evidence to prove to the scientific world that foxleps existed! I'd heard the whispers of these creatures since I was a child, encounters with them that nobody believed. And then I saw one myself. Now I was armed with a camera, a notebook, and some pencils. I was ready to find this creature, and darn it, I was going to!
After hours of searching, night had fallen, and I was ready to call it quits. Suddenly, a pair of eyes was gleaming at me from the surrounding greenery, so bright you couldn't miss them. I crept backwards, hands fumbling for my pocket knife. I had assumed it was a bear, or a coyote, or some other dangerous wild animal. I finally grabbed it from my pocket and flicked out the blade, and saw the eyes narrow. I readied myself to sprint up a tree, but they suddenly relaxed, and the thing crept out of the bushes, head lowered. It was tiny, barely a kit, and with the fluffiestfur I'd ever see on a creature. Its ears were comically big, with a tail larger than itself. I slowly put my knife on the forest floor, and the little thing saw this as an invitation to run up and jump into my lap. I smiled as I stroked the trusting kit's gray fur. I'd finally found one.
