Second Chance Shelter is a dog and cat rescue where you can come to find a new member of your family. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. All of our animals are special and deserve a chance to be happy with an owner that will care for them. The question is: are you ready to love them?

This cutie is under a cover because they were my entry for the Artist competition.

This one is a Rough Collie who was given to the shelter at a young age because he didn't fit the standards of his breeder, who thought his ears to big and was looking to breed merle pups. This is a kind and versatile dog who is really good at looking extremely majestic.

Work isnt her only pleasure, however, she also enjoys spending time in the garden helping with various tasks from digging holes for seeds or plants to pulling weeds. When not on the go or relaxing in the garden she is begging for attention and wont leave it alone until she is given all the attention she wants or a treat.

Personality: Ben is the definition of loyal, he will follow close to your side where ever you walk and can follow the basic commands with ease.
He is happy to allow anyone to stroke him (especially is its just behind his right ear) and everyone in the neighbourhood knows of Ben.
When on walks he makes friends with ease, though he doesn't really play.
His favourite toy is a worn out plush duck, he carries is almost everywhere. His favourite treat are those little dog safe chocolate drops from the pet store in town. Benny has a high tolerance for most things but he is really afraid of water and will not go near lakes, ponds or rivers and baths are difficult if he doesn't get tonnes of praise and reassurance.

Aurelius is a friendly outgoing dog yet he is insecure about his looks since he remembers his past owner saying something about him was wrong. He is a bit of a clean freak because of his insecurity and tries to stay away from anything that looks like it might mess up his coat. He tends to be a more quieter dog but that doesn't mean his calm because he is far from it. He has loads of energy and when he feels a bit frisky he will take a run outside chasing shadows or bugs (Sometimes forgetting he could get dirty). He is a bit needy for his new owners attention since he has a slight fear that he would be put back in a shelter so he tends to be the dog that never leaves you side but that also means he is very loyal. He actually really likes to be pampered too.

As sweet and gentle as they come, he likes to herd animals and he likes to be with others. He is a kind and courteous dog, and he likes to run and play, of course. He will herd when he sees fit, which is almost all the time, as this is an instinct. He is playful and he has leadership qualities, and much like Laddie from the series Lassie, he will follow his owner and always come home to them, no matter what.
