Bedtime story:"Long ago-" "Get to the exciting part! I don't want the boring introductiooonnnn..." Myriad whined. "Bedtime stories aren't exactly meant to only be exciting, but I'll try my best. But all stories need introductions, do they not? I'll make it short. Promise." "No, tell me a different story!"

"There once was a fluffy, fussy, long dog who wouldn't go to sleep named Myriad. Not even at three in the morning. He was a little brat that wouldn't pay attention to the fact that other people go to sleep. So he was smothered when he actually went to sleep after what felt like fifty million years. The end. "NO. No, no, no, no. Don't tell a story about me dying again! Tell me my favorite, the one about the little witch." "I thought you hated that one because it wasn't exciting enough, but alright."

"Once upon a time, there was a little witch named Widow. She was afraid of spiders, yet that was what she could create. Webs filled her house, spiders crawled across the floor, and spider eggs were under every single piece of furniture. She couldn't handle being able to create what she feared--she'd much rather hide from it all! Widow tried everything she could to get rid of the spiders, but she could not.

Her hat was filled to the brim with webs and eggs, and every day she swore she could feel spiders crawling up and down her body (and they probably were). One day little Widow decided she had enough, and called her friend, a water witch named Lotus, to flood her house and take the spiders away. Lotus was rather hesitant, but quietly agreed. Although witch houses were quite resilient, Widow's house was a treehouse! Oh, the water damage that could be done, and those poor spiders! Their home, their eggs, would they not all be taken away?

Though it worked for a day, the spiders came back, and Widow had to try again. Next she looked to Leo, a male witch who specialized in fire. She wanted him to burn the eggs, the webs and the spiders themselves. But what would that do to the treehouse? It already had mold growing from the water! As her house was burned by the flames (hopefully along with the spiders), Widow hadn't thought much about that.

And yet they came back again. Widow's house now had holes alongside the mold, and was still filled with spiders. So she tried one last time, calling Wren, a witch who specialized in birdkeeping. Wren sent out some rather hungry sparrows to eat the spiders, yet despite this they still returned! Widow never used magic to create more (and she was sure all of the eggs were gone), and at this point she had become suspicious.

So Widow called a witch named Rena, a lady who specialized in enchantments. And there it was on the house, an enchantment that caused spiders to appear no matter what! Rena removed the enchantment rather quickly; as it was quite simple, and through the wear and tear Widow's house had taken, she was surprised it hadn't already been broken.

...Oh God, what should she do to fix her house now?"

Myriad was fast asleep, curled up in a ball without a sound. "Strange little thing you are, Myriad."

Why does Myriad like the story so much?:Myriad can relate to it. He's a talented painter, but has a fear of paintings! He would go to any length to destroy one painting, no matter how irrational. And it's just as simple as the enchantment removed in the story, you just throw it out or sell it.

Bedtime story: Once apon a time there was a dragon with an odd addiction, he loved to collect crowns! One day he found out about the rare jewels of the queen. He needed these jewels from the queen but most importantly needed the crown. He slithered his way into the castle only to find the queen standing alone in the hall. He questioned it seeming as if the queen was in despair. Suddenly he heard the quick snap of a chandelier above his head. This chandelier fell on his head, making a crown of crystal and steel. He loved it. He cried " Forget jewels! I love this crystal!" And flew off. The end

I really tried I'm sorry. School has turned my brain to mush
Edit: I see you said something about plagiarism and I honestly thought this up myself in the car. I just needed to clarify.

hey guys!! I forgot to mention, if you're planning on using a common or pre-written fable/tale i strictly prohibit plagerism for this contest. Either re-write it in your own words and give credit like a title / author, or parody it by making some changes!

Thanks!

Bedtime story:
"Can I have a story before bed?" asked Jasper while looking at me with longing eyes.
"Only one" I say unable to ignore his puppy dog pouting."But you gotta promise to go to bed afterwards, ok?"
"I promise" he says while beginning to curl up ready to listen.
"Ok here's a story about a time I meet a great king"
"You knew a king!" he exclaims with his ears perked."What was he like!?"
"He was a magnificent king who ruled over a planet no bigger than a house!
And even the though his kingdom was small he believed it was the place in the whole solar system and told everyone he met.
The only thing was the planet was so far away from anyone or anything, in fact you couldn't see anyone for miles he was all alone with only the billions of twinkling stars there to keep him company.
I supposed I shouldn't be to much surprised when he greeted me with such enthusiasm and joy while I happen to pass by on my search for the answer to happiness.
The king said " Welcome! Welcome! My beautiful subject! Please sit with me, have some tea or perhaps a cake shall do nicely."
So I sat and I sat probably for what must have been hours listening to the king ramble about his magnificent kingdom and the very barren planet I sat upon. He didn't even notice my yawning from across the table.
Then finally unable to listen any longer I asked "Great king if I may ask, over what do you rule?". "Your planet is so small and there is no one else around for miles, how can it be so great if there is no one else here?
The king stopped pondered for a while as if determining something quite complex until finally saying "Tell me how much of my kingdom have you seen?"
"All of it ...I believe" I say wondering why he would ask something so obvious.
"Then you should know I'm not as alone as I seem"
"What do you mean?"
"Look around you and tell me what is it you see?"
"Lots and lots of asteroids, stars and the rocky landscape we're on" I describe begin to think he may have gone crazy.
The king laughs softly and leans forward ,"Look closer my friend, really open your eyes and perhaps you may see something".
I look around but still remained confused perhaps this king really was mad? He began to get up and walk over to clear patch of dirt with a hole in it. "Come here" he beckons. Hesitantly I go to him and kneel by the patch, it felt oddly warm and had a strange smokey smell coming from it. "Come closer and see" he says gesturing towards the hole. Still wary I edge closer and peer down half expecting something to pop out.
To my surprise the hole was emitting a strange green glow and smoke was slowly coming out from it.
"What is it?" I ask curiously.
"My good friends we have a curious guest here to see you!" The king calls to the hole. With that the glow became brighter and brighter until something began to emerge.
It was leafy and kinda looked like an overgrown turnip, the leaves on its head glowed bright green and it seem to be quite happy about something.
More and more of them began to appear from all around even from what I thought were just floating space rocks. They came towards us all smiling and curious, there must of been hundreds all together on this tiny planet.
"These are the Kinups and I am there guardian" said the king. "I protect them and ensure there safety when the planet is in danger.
"When first I came here I was running away from my troubles and problems and this seemed like the perfect place to escape and hide from it all" he continued as he began to sit gently beside the fascinated creatures.
"These creatures you see before you are what kept me going, they taught me happiness and love and helped me see that the real problem was not the problem itself but my attitude towards it. "
"Without them I probably would have ended up as solemn as stone. That's why I made a vow to make sure they can pass on their love and understanding to who ever may pass for as long as I live." The king exclaimed.
With his words I smiled at the joyful Kinups as I realised the answer to my question. "

I finished up my story there and tucked the now sleeping Jasper to bed but before I could leave he asked very sleepily "What was the answer?"
"Love and friendship" I whispered before gently shutting the door.

Uhummmmmm hot hot hot lion boy
mostly inactive. i've grown out of CS, however, it will always be part of my story and i will always carry fond memories of this site. I have tried many times in recent to become active again, but it has been difficult to find that imaginative and childish spark I once had visiting this site. i wish everyone well and hope that you find fruitfulness on and off of CS <3 thank you for the wonderful 11 years, ciao!
