backstory of how you found them:
So I live right by a dense forest. My backyard basically feeds into it. And one day, while I was sitting on my porch, mesmerized by a book, I heard a crack, followed by another and another. I ignored it at first and kept reading, but eventually I got this unsettling feeling like I was being watched. So I looked up right into the eyes of a very curious Oscus. I swear, my scream was heard miles away. He jumped, but held his ground and when I went to go inside, he followed me right in as if he'd lived there his whole life. No easy way to get rid of that little booger.

Art hopefully

When you go camping, there's a chance you find some
animals. There's a chance an animal may find you. I
don't think I'll ever really know which way it went with
Milo, not that it matters really. I suppose the first night
it was the smell of roasting fish that brought him in. Lord
knows I can't resist that smell myself forget it if I was a
scrawny hungry Foxlep. Despite the fact that you should
really never feed wild animals, Milo looked so pitiful at the
time it would've taken someone with a cold, dead heart not
to give in. He spent most of the night parked right by the
fire pit, despite the fact that for only a little while a fire
was actually going. By the time I woke up the next morning,
he had disappeared. Over the next several days he would
show up, stay the night, and leave. Occasionally he'd bring
the odd fish for himself, but most of the time it was I feeding
him whatever I had at the time. It was morning, and about
time for me to leave. I had a coke and some strips of beef
jerky for the road, and everything else was in my trunk.
Having never seen Milo in the mornings, I was surprised when
he strolled out into my clearing. Imagine my surprise when,
though I had never touched him before, he strode right up
to me and head butted my legs much like a cat would. Then,
as if there was no other option, he jumped through the open
passenger side window and curled up in the seat. I made a few
attempts to remove him, but he had made his decision.

backstory of how you found them: Oftentimes, the thing you're looking for is not at all what you find, and you realize that you were looking for it all along. I had set off into the woods in what was going to be yet another fruitless search for some scientific evidence of these creatures. I had seen one, I had even touched one, but there was no substantial evidence to prove to the scientific world that foxleps existed! I'd heard the whispers of these creatures since I was a child, encounters with them that nobody believed. And then I saw one myself. Now I was armed with a camera, a notebook, and some pencils. I was ready to find this creature, and darn it, I was going to!
After hours of searching, night had fallen, and I was ready to call it quits. Suddenly, a pair of eyes was gleaming at me from the surrounding greenery, so bright you couldn't miss them. I crept backwards, hands fumbling for my pocket knife. I had assumed it was a bear, or a coyote, or some other dangerous wild animal. I finally grabbed it from my pocket and flicked out the blade, and saw the eyes narrow. I readied myself to sprint up a tree, but they suddenly relaxed, and the thing crept out of the bushes, head lowered. It was tiny, barely a kit, and with the fluffiestfur I'd ever see on a creature. Its ears were comically big, with a tail larger than itself. I slowly put my knife on the forest floor, and the little thing saw this as an invitation to run up and jump into my lap. I smiled as I stroked the trusting kit's gray fur. I'd finally found one.
