Zopryos is, to the outward eye, confident, appreciative, generous and a type that many a mare pines over when they see him pass by, a stallion others speak of in hushed excitement and one eyes cannot help but move toward when he is in the vicinity. His appearance is well kept, showing sleek muscles and high carriage, and his proud demeanor is reflected in his quick wit as he puts rival stallions in their place; beneath him.
But appearances are deceiving, and away from watchful eyes and echo-catching ears Zopryos is a demon in the skin of a horse; he's domineering, aggressive, violent, and his viciousness is unmet by another. There is no low blow for him, no area that would be considered grey to those of sounder mind, and he is an opportunist at his very, very best. Zopryos is a player of the game, using his wiles to catch any mare he can and draw them into his web of false generosity and adoration, showing the venomous fangs of a viper once he has captivated his audience. Often his actions prove disasterous for the other, leaving behind a cripple or worse. His lack of hearing doesn't impede him in he least; it has, possibly, added to his viciousness and given him an edge in reading body language, learning other ways to 'hear' someone aside from their voice.
His ego is large and his arrogance, though well hidden to those unaware of his true intentions, is among his largest faults; he can be easily distracted if he is pressed about himself, his vanity leaving him blind to the concerns of others, often long enough for his prey to stray from him and back to the safety of numbers. Never will you see Zopryos with more than one mare, leading her away from the safety of her herdmates; he's very successful in luring the younger and less experienced fillies and mares away, but this success has resulted in many a fight if met by an elder mares opposition and knowing eye.
But hunter he may be, Zopryos will never lay harm upon a mare with a red coat as he has. He would never admit to believing in a so called prophecy, told by his grand-sire and his dam when he was a youth, but Zopryos is firm in his avoidance of red coated targets. He'll watch them, learn their habits, but he will never lure them from their peers like he gladly does others.

Neve is a one of a kind stallion. Your first impression of him is usually intimidating, while Neve's not particularly large, he holds himself with a presence, a kind of authority that impresses even the most well-versed of horsemen. However, once you get to know him, Neve's really a giant teddy bear. The stallion loves treats, and adores cuddles. He's a very affectionate horse, and likes to nuzzle and groom his friends, both horse and human. He's a very touch based horse, and usually investigates new things with his nose, as he's unable to hear. This causes some inconvenience, as he has to be cued exclusively with body language. He's not scared by a lot, but blowing plastic bags usually do him in. Merlin often bites off more than he can chew with his big mouth and attitude that needs to be washed away with soap. He likes to show off and can be quite vain as he prances around, tail held high. Most horses dislike his showy personality and prefer to steer clear of him. Merlin can be quite thick sometimes, he doesn't use his head and often is that one that gets targeted first in a horror movie. He is a sweetie when you get to know him though. He is loyal and caring except when you insult his beauty. He is a follower rather than a leader but often pretends like he knows what he is doing. All he needs is a patient, caring mate who could show him where to go next when he needs the encouragement especially because he is deaf. Merlin's motto is "You only have one life" so spends most of his spare time bucking riders off and stealing carrots from pockets of unsuspecting victims. Yes, Merlin isn't so thick in these parts of his life, especially the parts where he gets to benefit from his actions! Merlin never backs down from a challenger. He has the need to prove himself to everyone that even though he is deaf, he is just as good at doing something like them.

Story:
How Merlin met Shadow.
Merlin was two years old when he met shadow. It was a frosty cold morning and the sun had not yet awakened. Merrin was in his stall sleeping when two men entered the barn. Their faces covered by balaclavas and hands ready for wrongdoing. Quickly and efficiently, one went into the tack room and took out the halters of the most valuable Arabians while the other prepared fireworks. Still sleeping, Merlin was unaware of what was happening outside his stall. By the time he did awake, it was only because he could 'feel' the movement around him. Horses were rearing in fear, kicking at their stall doors. In the distance, Merlin could see two men running as fast as they could with four horses cantering beside them. One of those horses was his mother...
All of a sudden, the barn caught on fire. flames sprouted on the roof beams, caused by the fireworks. Smelling danger, Merlin kicked his stall until it flung open. He was one of the first out meaning as he galloping through the flames which had spread to one of the open barn doors, he dodged capture by his owners. In pure terror, Merlin galloped into the forest until he could not gallop anymore. Exhausted, the stallion slowed to a walk. As he turned around a bush, there stood a tall, fierce-looking stallion who looked tired as well. Trying to look bigger, Merlin puffed out his chest, pinned his ears back and lifted his head up high. The response he got from the stallion was not the one he wanted. The stallion started to chuckle and then laugh. Merlin just stared in awe, he couldn't speak because he didn't know how to form words. The stallion quickly caught onto merlin's disability and stepped towards him, guilt and sympathy showing in his expression. Guiding Merlin back through the forest, the stallion felt the need to look after merlin. So even after he returned Merlin back to his owners, the stallion watched from afar. Often he would play with Merlin in the meadow until his owners came back. One time, he played for too long and the owners saw him. They alerted every ranch in the county, meaning the stallion was no longer a shadow. Deciding it was time to finally stay with merlin forever, the stallion let himself be caught. He was now had a permanent home with merlin and a new name, Shadow.
