Second Chance Shelter is a dog and cat rescue where you can come to find a new member of your family. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. All of our animals are special and deserve a chance to be happy with an owner that will care for them. The question is: are you ready to love them?

This pup was found wandering along a highway, and us being us, we took them in pretty quickly. They do have a collar with a tracker, but nobody has stepped up to claim them yet so we decided to give them a nice orange collar as a replacement. We're guessing this dog was new to the game of hunting, as they were wandering dangerously close to that highway when we saw them. They don't seem to be that old at all, and they are hyper and always happy like a puppy; so that's what they are. They need a lot of love and affection and chances are, they're never going to truly be a good hunting dog.

After his rather dramatic time in the city, Damien was adopted into the wonderfully quiet country. There's a lot of things to learn on a thirteen-acre ranch, and of course, being a puppy, Damien has to learn all of it. There's a lot of sounds to hear, and lot of things to see. Something that Damien learned to love at his ranch home was the horses. He's learned all of the different sounds they make, but his favorite his the sound of their hooves as they gallop up and down the pastures.

After Bear's horrible time in the city, bear became shy and put walls up, everytime he hears thunder and sees lightning he cowers in fear, everytime he hears a growl, hiss or screach he whines and wimpers, hiding, everytime Bear hears an angry tone and a raised hand he shrinks and shakes with fear but evertime he hears the sound of the baying hound dogs he calls, longing to be with them, everytime he hears the soft wind chimes he howls and bays softly, singing his song of time.
