Second Chance Shelter is a dog and cat rescue where you can come to find a new member of your family. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. Classic and very tidy, this dog came to us extremely spoiled. A wealthy woman had just moved into a retirement home but couldn't take her precious pooch with her; so they ended up coming to stay with us. They love to be pampered and hate it when their paws get wet; this goes to say, if you let them out in the rain you better be ready to dry their paws off. They refuse to let anyone take their bow off and will snap at you if you try it. Despite this all, they aren't a bad dog at all and listens to commands when they want to. It's all a matter of you earning their respect.

Why don't they like their paws being wet ?: When your paws are wet, things stick to them. When things stick to wet paws, it just turns into a huge mess and it ends up being really uncomfortable - which is the exact reason Adelaide doesn't like getting her paws wet.

Why don't they like their paws being wet ?:: He doesn't like his paws wet because it reminds him of his parents dying and abandoning him(story time lol). It was when he was 2 month old pup, he was playing around like any other day. An alarm sounded far warning them of danger, but of course he didn't know that. His mom picked him up by his scruff(neck fur, I think that's the name? Continue on) or rather his pelt like a lion holds its kit. She ran with him, but before, his dad licked his face, telling him how much he loved him and how proud he was of his pup. He tried to look back, and saw his dad in defense position, but then a loud Yelp erupted... He knew inside, he knew his father was gone, and he felt his mothers tears drip on his face. He knew he was able to, so he cried, like a helpless pup. His mom started picking up pace, when a *woosh* near his head and his mother ran faster. He froze, hunters were after them, and the people who wanted to take these wild dogs to the pound... Another arrow sound flew by him, he realized his mothers ear got hit. She ran to the river, and threw him in, to keep him safe... So she said her goodbyes, and promised to find him and said 'I love you' and that was the last thing she said to him, he heard her growling and snarling, then a shot rang out, and a Yelp. Then there was silence. He floated along the river remembering that moment, his lightweight paws helping to drift him and keep him above the water. And ever since he's hated water, and people, until one person changed his life forever... He still remains to hate water but loves this person who's cared for him like he was their own pup... The end(sorry so long lol)!

Why don't they like their paws being wet ?: I lost her chew toy at a river. When she was younger, I and mother had a picnic with her wealthy owner on the banks of a river. She dropped her blue toy on a rock, and tried to cross the river on some pebbles. Halfway there, she slipped and broke her paw. I never saw her toy again and now wet paws always remind her of chew toy.

Why don't they like their paws being wet ?: Well, Trouble is a diva dog. If she gets her paws wet, the terror is off the leash. The reason is that she slips and slides and basically falls and ruins her well done fur. It also makes her paws heavy, which is not good. Trouble hates it when her paws get soaked... So don't let her fall in the bathtub. She also doesn't like it because when her paws get wet, she gets wet. These diva dogs just don't like being normal dogs, do they?

Why don't they like their paws being wet ?: Trinket hates his paws being wet. All for one reason, his fur! Trinket isn't big about his fur being 100% clean overall but his paws themselves have to be 100% clean! When he goes out for walks his paws will just get all muddy and coated in unnecessary filth. He hates it! His owner will have to then wipe down his paws which he hates as well, because his paws will still be wet.

Why don't they like their paws being wet ?: Collette hates the heavy feeling it gives her legs, but more than that, she hates water because it it dirty! Mud, water, sticks, leaves, she hates getting anything like that on her and will run in circles barking until someone wipes it off. Water is her least favorite though because you never know what has already stepped in it, or what was there to begin with . . .

Why don't they like their paws being wet ?: Well, Its because of a special and unexpected event in France. Believe me or not but they LOVED to play in the rivers! Until of course THIS happened! She ran into someones home for a few days scared and that caused her to be aggressive and spoiled.
