Shifting golden eyes stared
into dark purple ones.
The sputtering of a halo,
tainted and falling apart.
"Koran... How could you do this to me?"
The angel, for that was what he was,
asked the question softly.
Their light was fading with their halo
as it sputtered in its turning.
The tip of a white wing
catching flame.
Their voice cried out-
"I trusted you! I loved you!"
But the demon just kept smirking.
"And for that, Loiel, Morning Star,
you are mine."
The light-coated Angel
felt something settle in his soul.
And then it grew.
It grew, a firey rage and passion
he had never felt,
and his body burned
with the intensity of the feeling,
burning his old self away
as he launched at Koran.
Jaws closed down
on the demon's neck,
aiming for the throat,
but he ripped himself away in terror.
They watched as
the demon they had loved
fled from them with a scream.
They felt nothing but
loathing for him.
The being that stood
as the flames died
was not the same as it had been.
Wings burnt to ash.
Pelt singed into a dark umber.
Eyes melted and reformed
to hateful, red slits.
Loiel no more,
a new name came to them
from the pits of their mind.
"Lucifer."
