Basically, December 2014. Walking along a path, on the local trail just walking. Mac hears a slight chirping in the distance. "Hm. Sounds like a Mocking Jay. That's odd thinking about it, since they're never out in the winter. I'm overthinking this all." Shrugging it off as just thinking too much about something so merely small. She heard it again, only louder. "CAW" "Ah, ok then??" 30 seconds of pacing through the crisp snow, only to see a bird right in front of her. Bending down closer to see, she sees it's a tiny black chicken, with weird looking feathers. "Oh my... What are you?" The bird chirps again frantically. Mac notices her wings are frozen, and her shivering in the cold. "Poor baby. I'll take you home." She scoops up the frosty chicken, taking her jacket off to wrap the hen in warm fleece. "You're alright now deary!!"
Running through the frigid snow to the library she went. Once inside she finds herself in the aviary aisle. Humming as she finds a book on chickens, her patient is slowly growing warmer. You're too cute!" "Ah there we go!" Finally sitting down to read what this oddball is. Scrolling through the pages. "Faverolles, Fayoumi, Frizzle!" That's you!" The description reads "Small layers that are show quality. Come in all sorts of colors. Frizzled chickens are a rare breed, Their main characteristic is their feathers grow in backwards, making them have a fluffy, soft plumage." "Ohhhh so that's what you are! Neat! Why would you be on a trail though? That makes no sense. Maybe there's a farm near or something, oh well. Anyway, when we get home, I'll set you up a little bed temporarily." "Dude, we'll be besties! I've never had a chicken before, so this will be EGGciting!!"

Real quick thing; I know this is suppperrr cliched, but this happened to me, and how I found my first chicken, Meep. After a few months I thought she needed some buddies, so I got 7 more pals, and they had kiddos this summer, so now I have 14 chickens!!

☼ how they met;; [234 words] Hazel had been wanting a pet since she was a child but wasn't sure what to get. Her parents never let her own one and now that she's living on her own she could finally decide for herself. A dog? Too loud. Cat? She's allergic. She kept narrowing down the options but once she found one that worked, she still wasn't satisfied with the result and ended up waiting until she finally chose the right pet to spend money on the right pet to love and care for. She sat alone at lunch in a park, looking at all the dogs that passed and thinking about this. While she was sitting she noticed something small and green moving across the table towards her. "An inch worm? Well hello!" She said, gently picking him up, admiring how small and adorable he was. After a few minutes, she decided to set him down and let him be free again, only to realize he wasn't coming off. She gave him a little nudge but he still wouldn't crawl off, when she suddenly got a great thought. "This is perfect!" She exclaimed. "I won't have to commit to a long-time relationship with only one pet and I'll be able to free you when you become a butterfly!" She exclaimed happily. Did this pet choose her or did she choose her pet? Either way, they both ended up happy.

Charlie was cleaning up his house. Paws and knees on the floor scrubbing it good until the floor shimmered. He was working up a real sweat when he heard hissing coming from under his oven and the squeaks of an endangered mouse. He couldn't strand hearing the sound of those saddening squeaks and quickly pushed his oven out of the way to rescue the poor animal. To his surprise he saw the tiny abomination totally in awe he scooped it up using his dust pan and putting it into one of his old aquarium tanks. Charile didn't know what to do with the thing scared the snake half who'd mistake its twin for food and eat them. He watched over the small thing constantly calling its species a Snat (snake, rat) . Eventually becoming attached to the creature he began to often play with the two giving them separate names and toys , and eventually falling in love.

"mew?" the small kitten cried from inside the tiny pipe. the poor thing had somehow gotten stuck inside. it was a beautiful calico about 4 weeks old, just old enough to stop drinking it's mother's milk. cinnamon didn't notice it, as she was busy doing the laundry. "mew!" the kitten cried again, a little louder this time, desperately wanting to be freed. this time cinnamon heard something, and walked over to where the sound appeared to have come from. she could immediately hear scratching sounds coming from a pipe that was used for who-knows-what. "me-ew!" the kitten wailed as loud as it's little lungs could wail. "there's a kitten in the pipe?" cinnamon's thoughts began racing. "how is there a kitten in that pipe? how did it get there? is it ok? i hope it's ok! i need to rescue it! is it safe for me to get it out? what if i end up hurting it more? ok, deep breath. i'm going to try and free it. it'll be ok, i can worry about what to do once i get it out. one step at a time, cinnamon." she then ran off to find some tools to attempt to free the small kitten. a few minutes later, cinnamon returned with a wrench and a blanket for the kitten. she immediately got to work, slowly but steadily loosening the little pipe.
about an hour later, cinnamon finally gave it one last twist to remove the pipe. she asked herself where the little kitten was, which was soon answered by a bundle of fur on the ground and a cry. cinnamon quickly wrapped the poor cat in a blanket, and decided to name it callie after it's calico fur. cinnamon nursed it to good health, and kept callie forever.

It was a normal day for Pepper. She was walking aimlessly through the forest, looking
for her apple try she picked apples from. She was gonna make some apple tarts. As she
walked, she heard little twitters coming from somewhere nearby. She, being the curious
girl that she was, followed the feeb little noises towards a small pile of leaves. She pushed
them aside and saw a small yellow canary. It had obviously fallen from its nest. Looking
around, she didn't see a nest in the leaf-shedding trees. She frowned, and tucked the little
bird on her fur gently before walking back home. When she entered, she took out a little
card-board shoe box, and shredded up some old newspapers, and put the tiny bird inside
it with some water. She smiled down at the bird lovingly, and it twittered up at her, its
pretty little tune music to her ears. She gently reached into the box and pat it on the head.
She noted how soft it was "I hope me and you become friends, little Tart" Pepper laughed.

-------❝At the park the leaves scuttled across the sidewalk and the last of summer's flowers danced in the breeze. Under the shade of a tree that tried it's hardest to hold onto it's golden leaves, a boy had fallen asleep. He clung onto a guitar, which must have been tuning just before he dozed off. His right foot was resting inside his wicker basket and the lid was propped open by his knee. A leaf from the tree above fluttered down and touched his nose. In a flash he sat upright and sneezed, now wide awake thanks to his allergies. Realizing how late it was, he started to pack up. Just as he lifted his guitar strap off his shoulder, he noticed his instrument was heavier. Curious by how many leaves must have flown into his guitar to make it that heavy, he peeked through the sound hole into the empty inside. What he found wasn't a pile of leaves, rather, the remnants of his sandwich from lunch. Whoever left that in there was small but strong. He was going to throw the blame on ants if he hadn't remembered they were too hardworking to stray off their invisible path to leave it there. Just as he pulled the sandwich out he heard tiny footsteps inside the basket. Cautiously he lifted the lid up, and peeked inside. Staring back at him was a pet rat.

-------He took it home and named it Miles.❞ Martin proudly announced the ending as he retold the tale to his friend.

-------❝Why did you tell it to me in the third person?❞ They muttered before adding, ❝I hope you know, Miles is a girl.❞

-------Martin just shrugged as he held his new pet up, ❝Whatever. Her name is still Miles.❞

Emory's parents sighed. The little youngster was growing up
quickly, and like most kits they really wanted a pet. There
was only one problem; Emory's mother was a nearly failed
small business owner, and the father had just gotten laid
off from his factory job in the city. The family in its entirety
had little to no money and were on the verge of selling
their possessions and their home, and to stall breaking the
news to their still hopeful kid they took Emory to the zoo.
Emory dragged them all over the zoo, passing the lions and
tigers and hippos, when they finally came upon the
aquarium tunnel. The fish swam overhead with joyous
harmony and elegant swoops. A stingray halted just before
little Emory's eyes, staring at them and finally venturing
close enough to where it would seem that if the glass were
not there, the paw that Emory had raised would have
touched the ray.
As they watched their beautiful child interact with the sea
creatures, Emory's parents had a glorious idea. As the
stingray swam away, they touched Emory's shoulder and led
them to the gift shop. Emory's eyes lit up once more as they
stretched to reach a small rack of stingray plushes, grabbing
the nearest one before quickly embracing it. On the
adoption certificate the zoo gave them, Emory scrawled (in
difficult to decipher writing) Archibald von Flap Flap, and
the stingray became then one of their most prized
possessions, and Emory's best friend.
