Separated from his pack when he was only a viscling, Cory grew up mostly alone and without his family. He wandered for about 2 years before finding a new pack that finally accepted him. Growing up by himself has made him afraid of the world, and much of it scares him; particularly being alone. His is very easy to manipulate for things, as he’s terrified of being alone again. His timidness makes it easy to intimidate him, and he is always the one to step down in a fight. Despite his constant anxiety, Cory behaves as a kind and happy friend to everyone he meets. The smallest acts and compliments make his day, and he is always trying his best to make everyone happy. One day, he hopes to find his original pack again.

Trinity (or trinny for short) loves to collect lighting bugs and fireflies and make little lanterns, she keeps them in little jars with food and natural things for them and with of course fresh air, and at the end of the night before she sleeps, she would let them out into the night to get back to their life again.

I was sort of blown away with the winner of this baby. The winner, Macyduke - the sheer amount of love and effort that went into your form really won me over even more so than the personality and story behind this character. A serious congrats to you, your form was fantastic <3 I look forward to seeing how you continue to develop Oren in the future!

A bit about him and his past:
Oren is quiet, calm, soft spoken, and a deep thinker. He likes flower crowns, dandelions, documentaries that expand his way of thinking, and reading about on history. Oren is the type of viscet who gets pushed around relatively easy and gets taken advantage of quite a bit, this however doesn't stop him from from working up the courage to ask others if they need help or shelling out a few bucks to those who need it. He's more or less of a poet who desires nothing more than to obtain a nuclear family and have lots of kiddos, being that his dream job as a child was to be a father when he got older (which is probably due to not having the family he wanted as a child and wanting to make a better one). Since being a father isn't a job that has an income, he choose to be a stenotype operator (someone who writes down everything that gets said at court cases). Granted, he has fostered a few viscetlings that have been through kinds of situations, so he's not too eager to have kids right away with just anyone. He's a bit of a pessimist when it comes to thinking he'll find his perfect match, but still hopeful when it comes to finding someone who'll love him despite his flaws and who he'll love despite theirs. More than anything he wants to find the love of his life, move to the west coast, start a family, and live a life in bliss next one of the sandy white shores of the ocean. That being said, he's not really one to date around, being that he truly believes that all good relationships start with friendship.
Oren hopes that his future significant other will be cool with him adopting an abandoned egg or viscetling if he happens across one at any given time during or before their relationship, because he knows he won't be able to stop himself from taking them home with him. Granted, he currently lives in one of the foreclosed houses near his job and doesn't technically own or have a legal right to be there, but he swears its only temporary. Or at least he hopes it is. At night he tells himself that the reason his temporary house is so bare is because he's not materialistic, and that items aren't the key to happiness. Despite this he struggles with whether or not he thinks love can be bought, being that his father bought his mother everything and anything she wanted in order to win her back after leaving her and Oren for another girl. Eventually the gift buying had worked for his father and for awhile their family had been whole again, but eventually his father's wandering eyes caused him to leave his small family; only to buy his way back into their life later on. Love and other viscets, as it'd been presented to Oren by his father, were objects that could be bought and tossed away without consequence. This makes him very uneasy around those who buy him things, being that it makes him feel cheep in a sense and like he'll eventually be thrown away for something better.
You'd think that his mother would have taught him what love really looked like and how one should court another, but she preferred to leave that to the television. Which taught him not only how to not pay bills and take out a loan, but also what company executives thought the average household looked like. However complete the family picture they painted seemed, Oren remembers how unrealistic it always seemed to him, being that viscets like himself never really seemed to come from such a loving and perfect home. Unable to stand how hammy some of the actors were, Oren turned to reading about orphans and messed up viscets coming from broken homes and making something great of themselves despite having origins that were far worse than him. The more he read, the more he realized that he was not only a sucker for romance, but also one for history.
His love for reading, like all things eventually do, faded; his time instead filling with the worry all sons should feel when their mother becomes gravely ill. Not one to abandon anyone or anything except the idea that his father would always be there for them, Oren, now an adult who lived on his own, moved back home to be with his mother in her time of need. By this time very thing she'd ever owned had been repossessed and hadn't the money to pay for her medical bills. Needless to say his time with her was short lived but taught him something which can more or less be summed up as living life, experiencing things, and being with those you love is better than just reading about it and regretting the times you missed out on. Not only that but not to regret decisions you make impulsively, like adopting an old hound scheduled to be put down in a few days, but live with your decisions and if they're terrible, like getting a tattoo of your mother's name on your shoulder, learn from them. Which in hindsight makes him feel a little better about his current living conditions, but not all to great about how living in the moment seems to amplify his worries for the future and about getting into trouble for staying where he is. Thinking about this doesn't really help him sleep at night and often times leads him to pondering over what's wrong with him psychologically until he exhausts his brain and passes out. His worries have given him stomach ulcers in the past, but have yet to bring him to mope or feel down on his luck. He is alive, healthy, has a dog, and has quite a few hobbies he enjoys doing; which is more than enough reasons for him to have a positive attitude and look at the bright side, despite having cynical undertones.


(He's glad to see his dog when he comes home, but closes his eyes as though he's bracing for impact when she trips over her own feet... Repeatedly.)

Short story, because life got in the way and I'm bad at managing time:
Oren, like most mornings, rises just a bit before the sun. He climbs off his futon and tosses the blanket he'd been hiding under over the slumbering hound at the foot of his bed. It snorts loudly in response but doesn't stir further. The blue viscet stretches his legs as he rubs the sleep out of his eyes. Turning, he heads to the kitchen and starts a pot of coffee. He looks out the kitchen window, finding that the sky is slowly starting to lighten beyond his neighbors house. He sighs, normally by this time, he'd be out walking with Marley, up on a hill overlooking his neighborhood. He curses daylight savings time under his breath along with the city it's self, leaning heavily against the counter. "Someday Marley." he says quietly. "Someday..." He says unable to finish verbalizing his thought. His mind drifting to the coastal town he'd visited as a child. He's vision fell short behind his eyelids as he remembered the way his feet would partially sink into the sand, the way the undertow pulled at his feet whenever he stood in the water, the surfers, the sunlight, and more than anything- his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of coffee falling into the pot. He opens his eyes to find the sky to be much lighter than it had been when he'd closed his eyes. He sighed and looked back to his sleeping companion. "You ready to go walking soon?" He asked despite knowing the answer. Marley sighed in response to his question before looking for a way out from under the blanket. "We'll go just as soon as this finishes the coffee." Said Oren, cracking a smile.

The air outdoors was far colder than he'd expected and he felt bad for not having bought Marley a coat last weekend, before everything was supposed to freeze. Other than the fact that her breath was visible in the almost fringed air, she didn't give any other indications that she was cold. Oren shrugged, making a mental note to buy her a coat later in the day. "How far you want to go buddy?" He asked, not expecting an answer. He smiled as her eyes caught sight of a squirrel. In an instant her speed accelerated from what could be described as a strangely fast turtle's pace to that of a rabbit's. The chase was short lived being that the small creature almost instantly dove up a tree, but not what either of the two considered to be a waste of a chase. "Don't worry bud, we've got all weekend to chase squirrels." He told his companion, who insisted on barking at it. "Let's not get caught up on this one." Said Oren as he genteelly tugged his companion away from the tree, pulling her back to the path where she resumed leading him down the trail.
