Favorite Fish and Why: Hans' favorite fish is the Pimephales notatus or Bluntnose minnow as it's also known. A greatly under appreciated fish that he feels needs a good deal more love. After all, who could not like such a cute, tiny fish? As they are commonly used as bait fish by fisherman, Hans has made it his job to snatch and rescue all of the unfortunate little fish whenever he gets the chance. Even going so far as to steal them right from a cooler and disappear back to his home before the human even notices the fish are gone. Hans lives in a hollow tree that borders a lake and releases all of the fish he 'rescues' into that lake in honor of his brother who disappeared several months ago during a severe flood. Hans' brother adored the little fish and always got very upset whenever someone tried to use one as bait, a trait Hans took on himself after his brother's disappearance. Now he rescues all the fish he can and releases them to the lake named for his brother, to keep them safe and to show him once he returns. Hans has no doubt he will return after all and wants to surprise him when that time comes.
