name and meaning;;
Étaín
In Irish mythology, Étaín was identified as a sun god,
but the name itself has roots in the old Irish word
ét, meaning 'passion, jealousy'. The Étaín of Irish m
ythology married Midir of the Tuatha Dé Danann, but
when they do so, Midir's first wife, Fúamnach, beco
mes jealous and casts a series of spells on Étaín, firs
t turning her into a pool of water, then into a worm,
and finally into a beautiful butterfly whom she event
ually blows away from Midir on a strong wind.
Étaín chose this name, as she was originally named
Fúamnach, after the cunning witch who caused Étaín
trouble.

where they'd rather be;;
Étaín would rather be among the stars
with nothing but the silence of space an
d her own thoughts. Wouldn't you?
What a simple, sad dream..

what they find interesting about marvelle;;
Étaín could never determine what drew her to
marvelle in the first place. Maybe it was her
laugh, her happy attitude, the little things she
does when she's nervous.. no matter, she couldn't
help but stare at her. But she was frustrated by
her. Why was she so intriguing? And why did she
feel.. jealous of her? What was it that made her
so angry that marvelle existed, that she could
never be like her.. ╚════════════════════════
