Story -Nachiket let out an evil laugh.
"Oh shut it." Aske laughed good-naturedly.
"Oh come on. I've got to practice for tonight. It's the second biggest day of the year for people of our profession."
"I'm sure you do," she said with a giggle.
"You know if you really wanted to scare someone you'd just wear a clown mask" Aske continued. "I mean this elaborate stuff is great but clowns are like 10 times scarier."
"You've spent the past week talking about how you're going to shoot the next person you see dressed as a clown."
"All the more reason to."
"Can you help me get these wings on? I think they're crooked."
"Sure." She walked up and helped him straighten the large skeletal wings on his back.
"Thanks" He admired himself in the mirror of all of the costumes he's ever worn this one was 10/10 his favorite. Aske put on her own werewolf costume and the two departed.
Nachiket sat down on his throne an ever growing smile perked through his face. He let out another evil laugh as the first customers began to come in and lunged at them.
Nachiket felt claws clasp him from behind. "Nice try Aske"
"I know not of the Aske of whom you speak." She said in mock deep voice then laughed. "Come on didn't I get you for at least a second?" Nachiket sighed Aske had made a bet in early November that she could scare him before Halloween to be fair she still had almost a day left it was only 2 AM but after the previous month of attempts Nachiket wasn't holding his breath.
"Come on let's get going it's a big day tomorrow!" Aske and Nachiket began down the narrow hallway the walls still damp with fake blood.
Aske shrieked, "Oh my god!" She ran into the corner and scooped something up into her hands.
"Look at how cute he is!" She shoved a large likely disease-ridden rat into Nachiket's face. He jumped backwards
"Get that fing thing away from me!"
"Oh my gosh, you're afraid of MICE!" Aske saw her advantage. She drew back the large rodent and hurled it straight into poor Nachiket's face. He let out an ear-piercing shriek and lunged straight into one of the walls that had been temporarily erected for the sake of the haunted house. The wall caved in under the full force of Nachiket's weight. He tumbled to the ground and let out another howl upon realizing that the foul vermin was crawling across his chest.
"GET IT OFF!" He trashed about and finally managed to brush the rat off. He jumped to his feet and looked furiously for the rodent he feared may resume its attack any second. Aske had taken his place on the ground; her laughter rang throughout the halls.
"I can't believe that you're afraid of mice, YOU!" She wheezed and then continued maniacally laughing. Nachiket was still shaking. He looked around and then saw all of the destruction he'd left in his wake. His costume was utterly destroyed not to mention he still had pieces of the wall impaled on the spikes on his back. Great now he was probably going to get fired too.
"You should have seen the look on your face!" She attempted to imitate it and then burst out in a fresh bought of laughter.
