echo, to say the least, is rude.
she isn't horribly mean, but she comes off quite
harshly, sometimes, and that is out of her control.
she puts this behind her- it does prevent her from
being extremely social, though. when she's out of
her house, she acts extravagant, preferring to
show off her personality rather than hide it and
just quietly go about her day-to-day business.
she's a flirt, and she likes to show off. this persona
sometimes disappears when she is confronted with
a situation in which she needs to get to know somebody,
and prefers to act more like herself near people who
she won't be seeing again.
for this reason (and a few more) echo isn't the most
loyal kalon you'd ever meet. she doesn't like to get
close to other kalons, and likes to keep herself at a
distance from new people. when she does make a
friend, though, she'll either be disloyal as mentioned
before, or form an extremely strong bond. she can
be very, very loyal and kind (and a great secret-keeper)-
but only to a few kalons at once. echo only has two friends
(currently) that she's loyal to, and even now, she's still not
nice to them all the time. echo is extremely attentive,
and certainly brave. not many kalons would show off like
that in public, especially around strangers. as well as
that, echo is very calm. her friends like to say that she
can "tell the future", but in reality, she's just very good
at predicting what might happen based off of the
circumstances her friends or she is in.

"hey, abby!" jon knocked loudly on her door. "echo! it's halloween! abby?" jon was holding a bag- presumably full of candy and costumes. jon was 19, for sure too old to go trick-or-treating, but he could pass for a 16-year-old. somehow, he still got some candy each halloween (though it was and less each year). echo groaned and got off of the couch, quickly clicking the television off. jon knocked a few more times before echo got to the door. abby slowly opened it and waved. "hey, jon," she said.
echo didn't really like halloween, but jon seemed to love it. he always convinced her to come trick-or-treating with him... somehow. before jon could get through the door, braden jumped out from behind him. "heya, russ!" he yelped happily. "how are you?"

"i'm fine. you?" echo always said the same thing. she wasn't really fine, nor was she not fine. she was just neutral- but saying "i'm neutral, how about you?" would sound awfully strange, as jon always said. "i'm well!" jon said, laying out the bags on her coffee table. "and i'm good," braden said cooly. "shall we get our costumes ready?"
"costumes?" echo sighed. "alright, what is it this year?" jon bounced a little. "guess! guess!" echo chortled. "alright, sure. are we... bacon, lettuce, and tomato?"
"noo-oo, but you're getting awfully close!"
"eggs, bacon, and... toast?"
"nope! we're gonna be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! i'm jelly," jon stated. "i'm peanut butter." braden announced. "and what am i?" echo said. jon pulled one of the bags off of the table. "bread!" echo laughed dryly. "alright, what does it look like?" she took the bag from jon and gently pulled out the costume. the bread didn't stick out- instead, it was a plain brown shirt with markings on it to make it look like toast- the pants were the same. a small hat was also in the bag, and a little piece of styrofoam bread. "this goes on the hat," jon explained, sticking the bread onto the hat. "and you wear it!"
"well done," echo said. she'd grown to expect quality from jon, but she was still often impressed by his abilities in sewing and design, though she didn't care much for fashion. "what do yours look like?"
jon and braden pulled out their costumes simultaneously and scrambled to put them on as fast as possible.

"cool, right?" echo nodded. braden had a hat on that looked just like a peanut butter's cap, and he was wearing a shirt that made it look almost like braden's insides were peanut butter! jon was wearing a pinkish tinted outfit with 3D parts that looked like slimy jelly- they were very interesting costumes, to be sure. "i like them," echo said. "shall we get going?"
"yes yes yes!" jon said excitedly. he pulled echo's hat onto her head while she walked to the bathroom to change. once she got out, echo twirled around to show her costume to jon and braden. "it looks great, dude!" braden said. "let's get going!"

needless to say, they didn't get too much candy.

history

echo was born on a farm; her parents taught her how to run it and gave her a love of animals she still has to this day- though she loves animals, she was given many chores and worked hard, and felt above the other kids she knew who didn't have many chores and didn't do much in general. this is what started her dislike of children (at a very young age).
as echo aged, she became more and more independent, and less excitable and happy-go-lucky. she grew to be down sometimes, and generally neutral with her attitude- something neither of her parents were. she doesn't work on the farm, instead, she runs a restaurant in a city near her parents' farm- it's not extremely fancy, but it serves a variety of foods and it isn't too expensive to eat there. she loves her job. though fancy food isn't her passion, the flavors that she puts together are some of the things she enjoys most in life- mixing the textures and flavors of different foods is her favorite thing to do!

- the first flavorful food she ever had was scrambled eggs & ketchup- that sparked an interest
- she hates broccoli
- she loves brussel sprouts
- her favorite animals are chickens
- her least favorite animals are cows (she got kicked in the arm by one once)
- she's broken her arm 1 time, and her leg 1 time- this all happened before she was 13 years of age

Echo is very rude most of the time but other times can be very sweet and thoughtful. Her friends will almost never see her being sweet because she has to much pride to show a soft spot. Although most see her as having no soft spot, she has a huge one for kits. She is jealous to the fact they are so unaware of the dangers in the real world. Their big, bright, curious eyes make her want to smile.

Echo has a secret love for helping the homeless and others in need. Because of this, she decided to start a place where the homeless get free haircuts and also get checked for any desieses in their hair. No one really earns any money from the small organization so it's not really a job, it's more like something volenteers would do. They needed money for supplies to cut their hair so she reached out to schools and other workplaces asking for help. When they recived one hundred dollars, they were very excited because she could buy more stuff for the people's hair.

Echo spent her early life transfering from house to orphanage and back again. Eventually she got sick of being abandoned and adopted. She decided it was best to run away. Jumping from city to city, she couldn't find a place to be able to stay. Eventually, she met a few other kalons her age. They were both runaways aswell. They had found a place to live near and aquarium. They invited Echo to stay with them and she rerucualently aggred fearing they would just kick her out later on. The aqurium was low on staff so she decided to work there to earn money. Her job was to feed all the fish. It wasn't really that bad for seven dollars an hour. Later pn she ended up getting enough money to live in a small apartment. She said her fairwells to her friends and then moved into the apartment. Echo then began practicing styling and cutting her own hair because it was fun for her. She often saw the friends she used to live with walking around town and offered them haircuts. After she was done, one brought up the idea to give free haircuts to the homeless. Echo loved this idea and persued it.
