As Rufus grew up he lived in a small town. Everything was made by hand. The houses, the public buildings, and furniture. But Rufus wasn't interested in what wasn't editable.
Every Sunday he goes to his grandmother's house to eat her homemade waffles. Because she loved her grandson so much, she would add his favorite fruit, and favorite sweet, strawberries and chocolate. Then a couple weeks would pass by, and Rufus' grandmother would teach him how to make the perfect icecream. Rufus enjoyed this for most of his childhood.
Although she passed away, he stops by and prays to God to see her again. Then, before he leaves, he places down a small, white rose on her doorstep. But Rufus isn't strucken by sorrow, because he knows that God is enjoying her cooking too.

Why is it their favorite food?:
When Nanase used to get colds, fevers, and flus his grandmother would always make kitsune udon for him all the time and take care of him since both of his parents worked overseas and left him in her care. It was also the first dish he learned to cook and whenever he eats this dish he remembers the good memories of his grandmother and the warmth and kindness he feels as he eats this comforting dish. Udon noodles are also his favorite and he can't get enough of fried tofu so the combination of two of his favorite food ingredients in one dish is heavenly to him.
