Second Chance Shelter is a dog and cat rescue where you can come to find a new member of your family. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. All of our animals are special and deserve a chance to be happy with an owner that will care for them. The question is: are you ready to love them?

This little guy was brought in by someone who found them wandering the backroads. He seems mostly friendly though he does have some issues with trusting humans. Do you have the patience to make them a friend thatll never leave your side?

Cats name: Azusa [Usually a girl's name, but I am using it for this guy]
Gender: Tom/he/male
Collar Color: Brown with a white stripe through the center if possible
Story: XP
The young minimal white tom shook out his pretty black coat as he looked about, trotting from one side of the room to the other. He had been being allowed to roam the front lobby for some time now, while the sign for closed was up during the lunch break, and had gotten quite used to it. Sometimes, one or the other of the staff would take him into one of their offices, or even the laundry lady would take him back to the back and let him sit on the tables where she folded the laundry after it had dried. Again, he looked back and forth, then trotted back across the floor again before looking up and mewing as a young male that worked there bent over to pet him. He had brought his friend to the shelter [a friend he possibly had a crush on] and now, as Megan looked down at the cat, she found herself falling in love... Shaking her head, she looked up as the boy asked "Megs, want to take him home for a little while?" Megan shrugged as he answered "Sure." and he smiled as she picked up the cat and went back home with him...

[Is it too short? Megan was the first name I thought up, as I saw my cousin Megan today at her sister's wedding and reception]

Collar Color: cream with a small brown fish
Story: Dorito was born in Connecticut with an elderly couple with two children. The children would often play rough with Dorito, which he had allowed only because he was young. As he grew older the children were in high school and college. They still played with Dorito but how they played was same as always, rough. Dorito, now older was getting annoyed of the rough activity and decided to fight back. He hissed and bit one of the children as a warning. After the scene, the elderly couple had removed the cat from the house by putting him out in the front yard. He was fed and given water but it was hot outside and the couple didn't seem to give him enough water for the suns burning rays. He wandered off from the house and lived around busy streets he was soon noticed and picked up by humans which is how I, Dorito ended up where I am now.

Story: This is how Watermelon got her name. And it's not what you think.

Phina was wandering the shelter, smiling softly as the colors of the sounds she heard danced before her eyes. She had a rare condition, in which neurons in her brain had become crossed, and now she saw sounds. Most of the sounds she saw in the shelter were muted blues and greens, dancing before her eyes in a wonderful dance of colors. But suddenly, a streak of vibrant pink interrupted the gentle pink. She stopped short, listening for what the new sound was that had caused this vibrant color. A small mew sounded, and the pink streak reappeared. She followed the sound to the cage of a tiny, black and white cat. "Watermelon." she breathed. The cat looked up at her, it's golden eyes gleaming as her deep purr sent shimmers of pink across Phina's vision. She opened the cage and gently reached in, but withdrew it as the cat hissed at her, sending a sharp stab of red over her vision. "Okay then. We'll have to work on that Watermelon." she chided, "But don't worry, I won't give up."
